Comments about Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge Antioxidant Enhanced Glycolic Acid Facial Cleanser:

          Pros:
I have dry, sensitive skin that usually has a bad reaction to chemical exfoliants. This product has not caused any redness, irritation, or flakiness. After the first use, I noticed my skin felt softer. After multiple uses (3 weeks now), I've noticed smaller pores, smoother texture, and an overall brighter complexion. I use it 3-4x a week.
          Cons:
The bottle itself is a little heavy and slippery, and the pump is not great at dispensing the product. I wanted to get this product for a family member, but did not because of the issues with the bottle. I went with another glycolic wash from a different brand that came in a bottle that dispensed better.

I have used this product for a couple of years now. Product is great (different name than when I last purchased) but I do not like the pump bottle. Pump is not effective and sometimes does not work correctly. Products like this are expensive and I prefer a tube I can cut apart and get every drop for which I paid.

I have suffered from adult acne and I am now 31 and finally have it under control. I've tried everything! This cleanser made all the difference. I went into ulta to find another glycolic acid wash that they used to carry and that I used many years ago (DDF) but they no longer carry the line but a skincare specialist recommended this to me and I am still so incredibly thankful she did. My skin hasn't been this clear and balanced my entire adult life.

This cleanser is the equivalent of Wrinkle Revenge 2 (discontinued), so it has slightly more glycolic percentage than Wrinkle Revenge 1 (discontinued).

Wrinkle Revenge Antioxidant Glycolic Cleanser is the equivalent of Wrinkle Revenge 2 (now discontinued), so it is a slight bump up in glycolic percentage than Wrinkle Revenge 1 (also discontinued).

I don't think I quite understand why you need to use this on dry skin. I've found getting my face a bit wet first makes it much easier to apply and cleanse - does that diminish the effectiveness of the product or is it ok to continue to do it that way?

                    A:

We recommend applying to dry skin because water neutralizes the exfoliating AHAs in the product, which help to clear the skin. You can certainly apply to wet skin if you prefer, but you might not get all of the exfoliating action!

                • Q:

How does this compare to the Wrinkle Revenge 1 cleanser? What is the percentage of glycolic acid in WR1 and this new formulation?

                    A:

The exact percentage of glycolic acid is proprietary to DERMAdoctor, but this cleanser is the equivalent to the Wrinkle Revenge 2 cleanser formulation and has slightly more glycolic than WR 1.

Exfoliation from the glycolic acid and antioxidants in this product will help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

In a previous answer, it was stated that the glycolic acid was 10, 20, or 30%. Which is the correct % in the facial cleanser? And if there is an adverse reaction, can facial wash be diluted and still be affective.

                    A:

The Wrinkle Revenge cleanser contains 20% glycolic and is meant to be applied to dry skin. If you find that's too much, you can always apply it to wet skin which neutralizes some of the acids and makes it less irritating.

                    A:

The glycolic acid will help to resurface any uneven texture left behind by acne, but you will need to couple it with a brightening serum or moisturizer that contains Vitamin C to lighten the actual pigmentation spots.

I purchased Wrinkle Revenge 3 days ago. I was in Ulta for a different cleanser and the sales associate highly recommended this for an anti aging cleanser. Each time I have used it (twice a day) my skin burns and is red afterwards. Is this normal? Should I discontinue use? My skin is normal to dry with little to no breakouts.

You may experience some tingling and a little bit of redness after use at first but this should pass. If it is making your skin uncomfortable it may not be for you and we would suggest using their 30 day refund policy to return.

                  Hi,

Dermadoctor used to have wrinkle revenge 1,2 & 3 with glycolic acid percentages of 10,15 & 20%.

Where does this new product fall on that percentage scale?

                  Thanks!

                    A:

The Wrinkle Revenge Cleanser is a slightly higher level of glycolic than the Litmus Test Cleanser. It also contains more antioxidants than the Litmus Test Cleanser and is non-foaming (whereas the Litmus Test was a foaming cleanser). It does an amazing job of removing makeup and impurities, though, and can be used with DermaDoctor's new toner, Ain't Misbehavin' Healthy Toner with Glycolic & Lactic Acid if you prefer a 2-step cleansing routine:
