Most Helpful Positive Review Good product! My hair became Heat Damaged after a Salon visit. I was recommend this all natural shampoo. I bought it at a local Ulta store. I like the packaging protecting from the sun and light, I also like that it cleaned my scalp without stripping and made my hair soft and shiny. It also worked well with my Shea Moisture Wash N Go conditioner. I don't like the smell of fruit or perfume they added, although mild. I don't like the price of the item as well as the amount of Oz. you get. I will buy more once it's on sale.
Most Helpful Critical Review Okay, not great It's hard to find curly approved regular shampoos that aren't co washes, so based on that this is a good item to have. It cleanses my hair pretty well though it's a little hard to work through.I stopped using DevaCurl long ago, but it reminds me of the low poo shampoo as far as cleansing but this one does a better job. Personally, I'd rather just use Curlsmith's co wash and then when I need to really wash my hair and cleanse the scalp use a gentle clarifying shampoo. Also, the smell is not appealing, so I can't see myself repurchasing.

This is a very good moisturizing shampoo. I have magenta red hair and even though it bleeds a bit it does not bleed as much as it does with other shampoos and my color has lasted a lot longer. The only problem is the cap makes the shampoo hard to pour but otherwise I highly recommend.

I love this line. Quality ingredients that make a huge difference. My hair feels so soft and healthy after just one use.

I wanted to love this! The fragrance is amazing but no! A) my scalp itches sooo much! The hairline on my forehead was burning from the constant scratching and I ended up bleeding. B) I always have my hair up but some odd reason this has cause a very sore scalp. Days have gone by and my scalp is still sore! C) the bottle is too hard to squeeze! I have to always unscrew the cap and pour from there.
Effective, but smell could be better 4

I used this product on my 9 year old daughters waist length, tightly coily, low porosity hair.
Pros: Effective cleanser without stripping hair. The shampoo is thick and lathers well for being non sulfate. Definitely a clarifying shampoo. If you don't like the minty cold feel of the scalp line, try this as an alternative. I'd rotate this with the cowash to avoid drying out hair.
Cons: THE SMELL. I have most of the Curlsmith line and they all smell delightful. This conditioner and it's matching shampoo are just... blech. It feels like they tried to go for a natural fruit scent, which is just 'off' smelling. My husband says it smells like honeydew melon, and he is absolutely right. It's a melon scent. I don't care for it, but it doesn't linger, so there's that at least.
On a side note, you cannot detangle with this shampoo. Very few shampoos let you detangle so I didn't expect this one to do that.
We will continue to use the shampoo and conditioner because they are very effective. I hope in the future that Curlsmith changes the scent.
Love this for my curls!!!!!! 5

Absolutely love this product!! It smells fresh and fruity. I love the smell and so does my hubby!!! I love that it gets the product build up out of my hair but doesn't strip away my color!! I use once a week for my wash!! Absolutely amazing and highly recommend!!! I have 3C curls and love this product paired with the deep conditioning mask and I use the in shower styler after. My curls have never been healthier.

This has become my go to shampoo & also the conditioner!! It smells delicious and it definitely cleans my hair without stripping and still feels soft after. It's so hard to find a good curly girl friendly regular shampoo that's NOT a cowash and this is perfect!!! Obsessed with this and the conditioner!
Made my scalp itchy 2

This shampoo made my scalp very itchy after a few washes. I'm not sensitive skin prone and I'm disappointed that this did not work for me since I'm a huge curlsmith fan. I still have more than half of a bottle left. What a disappointment
My new favorite shampoo! 5

I have just started using this shampoo with the conditioner. I have very fine, thinning , colored hair. This has been wonderful! It cleans my hair without buildup and the light fragrance is very nice! I am very sensitive to chemical fragrance in products and I have no issue with this. I love it!
Not great for me, returned for another Curlsmith product 2

My hair is extremely dry/tangly and I am losing quite a bit of hair at the moment. This product does not provide much slip/easy glide through your hair as compared to some of their other shampoo products. I returned and now trying the probiotic protics which seem to be working better, so far.

Needs more slip and surfactants 2

I have fine/medium type 2a/2b hair. I don't use gel or cream so rarely experience build up or oily hair. This unfortunately caused some build up to accumulate. I haven't used sulfates in years so I know it wasn't because I needed to adjust. It just didn't have enough power to get through the scalp grime. For reference I typically wash my hair every 2 days. Please tone down the scent!

While i don't have color treated hair i got this shampoo bc it says it can work for dry hair as well. I have low porosity hair and am prone to build up on my scalp so i wanted a shampoo that can really clean my hair but not dry it out. this did just that and left my dry hair feeling really soft. if you don't mind fragrance then i definitely recommend!

Not sure what this does for colored hair but it worked well on my dry hair. I have 4a/4b hair and 4c hair in the crown. Low porosity as well. The shampoo smells amazing and my hair and scalp felt clean and not stripped after washing. Will be adding this as well as the conditioner to my staples. I wish they had a deep conditioner and/or leave in for this line!
