Most Helpful Positive Review I LOVE IT!!
I've used Unicorn Hair to dye my hair four times now. (See pics!) I have loved the result every single time!! Moonchild, Bunny & Strawberry Jam have been my colors of choice. My sister has also used the color Pony multiple times too & has always had an amazing result! She's done full head as well as highlights with it. I've done my 12 year old nieces hair twice with Chocolate Cherry, she's a natural brunette (Italian & Colombian) & her results are stellar too. The naturally lighter pieces near the bottom tips of her hair take on the color vibrantly & the rest or her hair has a hue to it that is particularly vibrant when she's in the sunshine. I could go on.. My 8 year old niece (natural light blonde) just had the tips of her hair done with Strawberry Jam/Pony & she is obsessed with it.
I have naturally dark blonde hair that I have highlighted. My hair is not bleached but it is lightened. You can see the starting point in the pictures for reference. I think it's important to point out that all hair pulls/deposits color differently and it's always a good idea to do a strand test. If you naturally have more warm tones the color will look different that someone with more ash in their hair. When I'm putting lighter colors onto my hair I leave them in for hours and when I am doing a really bright bold color, I tend to live it in for about an hour. Unless your hair is bleached snow white, you will not end up with any cotton candy hued colors. Keep that in mind. If you lighten your hair to an ashy silvery/blonde-you will not get pale baby pink. When I use bunny I get a gorgeous rose gold color. You must be starting with hair that is nearly pure white to get those super pastel colors. If your hair is dark-no matter how much dye you put on it pale pink won't show up. The vibrant, dark, bold colors will cover your brown with a gorgeous hue of color & are a great choice.
Color fades beautifully too! I'm a happy Unicorn Hair lover! Thanks Lime Crime & ULTA!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review Very Mixed Review
Of the 27 colors, I used 18 of them. I listed below the ones I used, with their individual ratings. I dyed my hair on November 6 and I am writing this review on November 29th. I have washed my hair 3 times in that time period of 23 days. Also note that I let this dye sit on my hair for 3HOURS before rinsing it out.
5 Stars: Almost as good as the first dye
Leeloo - of the colors this has stayed the brightest and truest to when it was first dyed
Chocolate Cherry - Still very vibrant
Tweet - I am very surprised that this has stayed vibrant
4 Stars: Faded, but still strong
Anime - Still very bright, but seems duller
Blue Smke - Very true to its original color, but has faded
Valentine - Not as bright red as original, but still bright, looks a lot like the Chocolate Cherry when it fades
3 Stars: Bad Fade out
Strawberry Jam - Very light now, hard to make it out
Jello - Very pale, looks like mint faded
Dirty Mermaid - pale and hard to differentiate
Pony - Very pale and superpatchy fade out
2 Stars: Good at first, then faded out of existence
Kawaii - faded to a pale pink very quickly
Neon Peach - I loved this color out of the packet and after the rinse, but I have no idea where it is now
Bubblegum Rose - This faded to the color of what Bunny should have been, then disappeared after the second wash
Salad - faded much like Jello, just much faster
1 Star: What happened?
Bunny - Very patchy application and after first wash was completely gone
Mint Ice - Same as with Bunny, looked decent when applied, but after rinse it was barely noticeable and after first wash it was gone
NO Stars: Where is the pigment?
Cloud - When I put this on my hair, I did a wth moment. I could see the color in the dye, but when I put it on my hair, it's like it literally disappeared as I was rubbing it in. There was no color payout at all.
Moonchild - This was exactly the same as Cloud, only there was a very slight color tint

I used this to dye my front pieces & the color payoff was amazing.
Worked on my medium-dark brown hair
Tipp from Akron
I decided to give this a try because it was half off for the hair event. My hair is permed so I don't usually put any other chemicals on it so I don't fry it. My stylist said this wouldn't hurt my perm because there aren't really any harsh chemicals in it. That is evident by the smell, it actually smells good! I would say my hair is medium-dark brown and it's definitely purple (genie) now. I made my husband help me with this one because a lot of the reviews says it stains and is impossible to get out and I just knew I'd get it all over myself. That being said, I used jojoba oil on the few spots on my forehead and ears that he hit. It was SUPER thick so he had a little trouble getting it through evenly (he's only dyed my hair once before about 8 years ago so I don't blame him). The instructions say to leave it for 30 minutes but I read a lot of reviews saying to leave it on longer. I went with 3 hours and rinsed in Cold water until the water ran clear and then blow dried and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Since I haven't washed it yet, my scalp looks like a grape, but I'm hoping it'll come out when I wash it. I'm excited to see how many washes it'll last through but I'm really glad I decided to try it!
Hair looks tinted
Margalee from Ia
I gave this hair coloring a four star rating because I did not notice any damage and the color is a beautiful tint in my hair. I had a sample from the hair sampler box so I had much less than I would normally would. My hair has not been bleached white so this comes off more of a tint but what a pretty tint this is! I did not use a color preserve shampoo and the color has faded pretty much. I did take off a star for longevity. It is so pretty I will definitely purchase a full size of this in the future.
Genie covers brown hair

So I left this in for 2 hours and it made the light brown ends a more pigmented purple but still dark and similar in tone to my natural dark brown hair that has a purple tint. Did not stain my bath tub at all. I recommend this for brunettes.
Omg the smell :)
Prismatikunicorn from Seattle
The smell is incredible. Thought the container was a little small. But super user friendly. And I can't wait to see how it turned out
Love love love it! Super color I got so many compliments!

I researched this product before use and was super nervous to try something different after trying to go plantium blonde with professionals and minimal progress my just yellow/ some silver hair was getting old until I added this product! I absolutely love my color and feel super sexy! Thanks line crime great product!
The best hair dye I've ever used
Whalen from Port Huron, mi
I really do not get what other reviews are saying about it fading fast because it's barely just now started to fade on me and I died it over 2 months ago. I used the sea witch shade and it is a beautiful rich teal colour. I pre bleached the tips of my hair with 40 volume but the colour still turned out on the dark parts of my hair although I did notice fading faster in the dark parts. It's smells like strawberry cream and it's amazing. I followed all the directions and always shower with cold water so maybe that was a factor in how long it's lasting. My roots are growing out faster than the actual product is fading. My hair felt super healthy after using this and I couldn't even feel that it was just bleached. I highly recommend this dye to everyone.
Meh...and this will never leave your hair
Dancer's mom from RI
I bought this for my 16 year old daughter because she wanted something that would be safe on her hair but not last forever. She had dark honey blond hair. The pink looked amazing and really popped...at first. It faded within a less than a month to a dingy muted pink color. NOTHING we did would fade the color further or remove it. Instead of acting as a temporary hair color due to the ingredients, this is a hair stain, but it is not marketed as such. $250 later we finally got her color corrected.

I just bought Pony, Neon Peach, and Juicy the other day because they were half off and I've only used Pony so far but omg I'm in LOVE. Such a beautiful color and it came out so vibrant! Definitely better than their pastel tints- I mixed Oyster and Cloud and it barely showed up. I'm not looking for long lasting color because of work so I can't vouch for that but the color so far is beautiful.
Super Rich Color
KT of the West from Southern Nevada
Has been using another product that you could only order online...wanted a quick change. This offered it! The instructions say you don't need a cap on your head while you wait 1-2 hours with the color on...but um...just how messed up do you want every surface in your home?!?
The color is rich and I loved the way it faded as well.
The cons of it being messy are real. My shower looked like a straight murder scene for about a week!
Best of Semi Permanent Fun Color
Z from Manchester NH
After half a decade of constant semi permanent coloring with every brand you could name, this is surprisingly my favorite dye to use. If you've also been coloring your hair with "fashion" dies for a long time, you'll know that hair integrity becomes a major priority. Color correcting, bleach baths, and purple shampoo leave-ins get annoying. So I give this product 5 stars based on two important qualities; its ability to fade completely out of bleached and virgin hair, and the feeling it leaves on your hair after rinsing. Most dyes that boast longevity of color are an absolute nightmare to get out and will turn a variety of unwanted colors as it fades. This product may fade a little faster than desired, but the process is beautiful. I'm also someone who washes with shampoo about one every 10 days, so this dye has always been able to give me months of color. After the original wash out, lime crime color doesn't leave you with that gross filmy coating on the hair shafts, which usually would make the first few days of new color a frizzy mess. Overall a great product if you're looking to change things up on pre lightened hair without wanting to have to do the damage control afterwards.
It stays in!
Chanel from Stony Point, NY
Used 2 jars of Valentine to cover my medium length curly hair. It came out so beautiful and wasn't highlighter red. Even my natural highlights it caught giving me a beautiful range of reds in my hair. Even the clothes that got stained, a white sports bra included, washed out in the wash and there were no stains in the tub! My only complaint would be really a comment it has stayed in for the past 4 months. So if you have blonde hair be prepared for it to stick. Maybe I'll be blonde again by Christmas? Either way, even when it washes out it looks really pretty. 5 Stars all the way

I once had someone describe this to me as, "If arctic fox is the Crayola crayon of hair color, then Lime Crime is the rose art crayon. Sure it will color your picture, but it's never going to be as good." The colors are there but brightness and saturation are not. It holds a little bit in some shades and in others goes right down the drain. It's not the worst thing I've ever used. But if I'm in that aisle, I might as well take a step to the right and pick up Arctic Fox.
Nice hair from San Diego
Loved the color after the product was applied but not dark enough for what I expected.
Ari from Arizona
It could be the specific color I tried but it did nothing for my hair I was expecting a bright blue but my hair came out seaweed green and yes my hair was pre lightened to a level 8/9.
Saby from 80022
I love this product!!! I've used so many colors. I only lighten my hair & apply the product BUT I leave it in for 6 hours with a shower cap. I've done the sea witch (favorite) Purple, blue, cherry, red & pink. Colors are super vibrant & last a LONG time. I had the sea witch color in my hair for 4 months (with color shampoo & conditioner) since they don't fade when I get board I just put a different color on top of whichever one I have & it takes perfectly.
Welp. If you like green hair use the shade charcoal

I had pre bleached hair and have used different colors with this brand before. But to my surprise after it started washing out my hair became green!
Never write reviews but...

I have been using this hair color line for getting close to a year. Never have been disappointed with the color pay off, and blue doesn't fade into a gross green like many other hair dyes do. :)
Brenda from California
Such a pretty color!!! I've had it on my hair for about 3 weeks now and wash my hair every 3 days and the color is still vibrant and gorgeous. I get so many compliments on my hair. I adore this product. Long lasting and will purchase again.
Brenda from California
I love this product so much. The color is vibrant and amazing. It smells really good and leaves my hair in better condition then when it was pre dyed. Great stuff.
Emily from Kentucky
Turned my daughter's light blonde hair green with teal in some spots, nothing like the color on the box. I've only used bubblegum rose which I had zero issues with, beautiful pink. This however is false advertisement.
Will consider switching brands

I used this on my husband's hair (I think he might be going through something because when I did my hair he decided he wanted to do his although he's never done anything with it) and he works in a car shop. He has to wash his hair daily (poor soul) and it definitely stands up to it. It lasts in his hair for about a month and a half before it even starts to fade. I'm considering even using it for myself, I'm an Arctic Fox person, just to see if it holds up that well in my hair.
I would buy this product again

Fun Conditioning Dye in Unique Colors
Sarah from California
I bleached the ends of my hair to a light brown/dark blonde and used Aesthetic and the mixer dilute at a 1:1 ratio. I love the outcome but it does fade with each wash. Because I am only doing the ends of my hair, I have been able to just use a couple tablespoons worth about once a week to recolor it. However, if you are using the whole jar, this would be a very expensive product for only a week's worth of color.
Angel from New Jersey
Looks great for about 3-4 washes, then it looks gross. My hair was a dingy swampy green mess. After 2 months of trying to get this out, I finally gave up and bleached my hair.
