This styling iron by Conair is certainly functional and the wireless component is really interesting. It makes the tool fully portable and that's a huge plus, but the charging time is 3 hours and the battery doesn't last very long (mine lasted for a half hour, and with a lot of hair that was a 1/3 of my hair done). I sat down last night and straightened half of my hair and curled the other half. The straightening function is the winner here! I had a few pulls at my hair but these were pretty minimal — what was more important was how the iron GLIDED through my hair! For reference, my hair is wavy and I have a lot of it. This function worked beautifully. I'd consider pushing the heat up by one level to really make a difference in the quality of the styling. However, the curling function was a bit of a miss. The barrel is too wide and only creates very loose curls that don't hold. I spent a good 45 minutes on curling half of my hair and this all came out within 2 hours, even with styling products. Maybe for informal occasions when you're just looking for a bit of bounce? I think the wireless function and straightener make this iron worth the purchase though! Also, if you have fine hair (that doesn't take 3+ hours for partial highlights), you should be fine. This worked beautifully on my mom. We could've just expected a bit too much for me, but it's such a quality product!
I was really excited to use this because the packaging and look/feel of the product seemed incredible! Also who doesn't like that fact that it doesn't have a cord that you have to work around?! However, I was highly disappointed when I actually tried it. It took a couple hours to charge before using it. This was no big deal. However, compared to my Chi straightener, this thing is a joke. I had to go over the same piece of hair like 10 times at the highest heat setting for it to make my hair even somewhat straight. I still couldn't get it completely straight by the end. The curling feature doesn't work at ALL. It doesn't clamp your hair tight enough and even when it does, it still doesn't curl your hair. My chi does this effortlessly. Overall very disappointed with this product. I definitely wouldn't buy it and wouldn't recommend.

Heats up well and the cordless feature is amazing. But the plates being stationary is a definite drawback. I have fine hair and even putting thicker sections in the plates did not put enough pressure on my hair to be effective.

I would return it but my son destroyed the box

Conair Hair Unbound Cordless Multi-Styler is so awesome because of its convenience.. its cordless, makes hair so shiny and helps fly always, straightens and curls your hair, what more could you ask for lol

I purchased this hoping I would be able to use it to curl my hair the way a person would normally use a straightener to curl, thinking that the outer curled barrel would really help with that, it didn't. It was useless for this method. It may have been great if I would have wrapped my hair around the barrel the same as a normal curling wand but that is not what I was looking for.
It was very light and awesome not having a cord. This tool may be a good fit for someone else but it was not what I was looking for.

Was thinking it was a great buy so that it could be convenient for use at the salon but the hair was getting stuck in the corner of the straightener.

I had to return this product after one day. Quality was terrible, barely lasts 20 minutes before you need to recharge it, hate the good plates. Overall would never recommend this product.

I was really excited to try the Conair Multistyler, as my teen daughter and I both love to try different hairstyles. I have thin, very curly hair (3A for my curly girls) halfway down my back, and my daughter has just-above shoulder length thick straight hair. So we had two very different hair types to test this out on!
I thought the usb charging was very cool, as it would make it convenient for travel, as would the heat-resistant pouch. The instructions were pretty straight forward - easy to turn on, switch style and temperature, and lock the styler. For first use, we let it charge about four hours, as the instructions said 3 hours for a full recharge. When we unplugged to use (because it can't be plugged in while in use), it almost immediately started blinking like it needed to be charged. We only got about 15 minutes of use that day, which meant that we had straightened about one-eighth of my curly hair! Not ideal. Later attempts worked a bit longer, up to about 25-30 minutes, but that's not long enough to style either of our full heads of hair!
Some further downsides: the styler turns off automatically after so many minutes. Now, this is good from a safety perspective if you've left it on, but terrible while you're styling and haven't noticed! The barrel is also very short, which made it hard to curl my daughter's short hair. In both our cases, neither straightening nor curling had any staying power.
Some pluses: the styler offered different temps for different hair types, which was cool. The styler itself is super sleek and pretty. These pluses didn't make it something I'd recommend though unfortunately.

This felt like my hair was being ripped out. The curler kind of worked but my hair stuck to the plates, even on lower heat settings.

I was really excited about receiving one of these. One of my biggest issues with a regular straightener is the cord getting in the way. I also liked that this is a straightener and curling iron - one tool, I wouldn't need to carry extras.
I charged the multi-styler to the specifications in the instructions. I have thick curly hair, so I need to straighten my hair at a higher temperature - which means the battery died before I could do more than half my hair. To get my hair really straight, I could only do 1/3 of my head before the battery died. Then I would have to wait for the styler to recharge for a long time before I could do another 1/3 of my head. It literally took all day to do my whole head of hair. I was completely bummed.
It's a good concept but it just misses. I'd bring it on a trip to touch up my hair but this would never be my one and done tool.

LOved this device, but needs to be on fully temperature to curl my hair, and is a loose curl even on the highest temperature. Also loses charge quick, so prob only one person can use before charging again. Love the innovation though!

I love the idea of this being a curling iron and straightener . I also love that its cordless because I am always knocking products down when using styling tools. This comes with a cord but not the plug block piece . It does take some time to charge, which can be a pain if you forget to do it prior to using it. I wanted to try the curling function first. I have a lot of hair and its thick ,so I had to use smaller sections of hair when using it. The barrel is also shorter than what I normally use. This took me longer and since it only has a certain time to I gave up because I thought it would turn off before finishing. Its also a little heavier. I also don't think it was getting hot enough, the curls were loose. I tried straightening my hair and it worked better but still not perfect. No snagging and glided over my hair. Since its curved you can do a flip or wave. While this didn't work great on my hair for every day use but maybe if I were traveling it would be. nice for touch ups. ( it also comes with a heat resistant bag) This might be better for someone who had "normal" less hair than me . I wanted to like this more but it just didn't work for me.

I really had high expectations for this tool. I travel often and loved the idea of not lugging multiple hair tools with me. The cordless aspect intrigued me, and I wasn't really sure what to expect from it.
I have medium-long, rather thin and fine hair. Here are my thoughts on it:
-Convenient. It can double as a straightener and a wand. I tried it curling iron style, but that did not work for me.
-The barrel is very short. If you're using it as a wand to curl, and have long or thick hair, I'm not sure you would fit your hair around it unless you did very small sections, which would significantly increase the amount of time to style.
-My style did hold well and lasted all day.
-It's a gorgeous product and I love that it comes with a just-as-beautiful heat protective sleeve.
-Charge time lasted through 2-3 uses. I was hoping to get more, but I'm sure it takes quite a bit of energy to heat.
Overall, it was okay. I don't find myself reaching for it often though. If the barrel were longer, I think I would raise my rating to a 4/5.

This is a great travel piece- charge could last a little longer but overall it works great!

My hair texture is very kinky/curlyand most times its super hard for me to get a straight hair look. But this flatiron did the trick. Not only did it make my straight hair look flawless it added shine and luxurious body.

Would we be able to state, Convenient?! Not having a bothersome rope in the manner is totally virtuoso! I completely love the look and shading. It's ideal for gifting! Heads up—it requires a significant stretch of time to charge (best to take care of business short-term). Likewise, it's ideal to twist or fix littler areas one after another for best outcomes. By and large, I am satisfied and would enthusiastically suggest it, however it isn't great. So pretty however

I wouldn't say it's my favorite hot tool that I own but it is good in a pinch. I find it to be slightly difficult to figure out how to use at first.

Works well and gets the job done for straightening or curling hair. The only issue is that the charge does not last long

Gorgeous sleek design, looks like it would be hard to use but it's easy-to-use. Love the cordless style, Its hard for me to use corded ones to curl, it makes it easy to use with each hand if doing it for yourself.

Love that it's cordless! A lot easier to manipulate and doesn't get on the way when you're doing the aide tags your non dominant hand!
Bella from NYC
I absolutely love love love this straightener/ curler. I travel a lot. So being able to have two in one and for it to be cordless and rechargeable is a life saver !

Sleek design, and now you don't have to pack 2 tools. This flat iron has replaced my curling iron as well. I love that I can do my hair in the bathroom or walk to the bedroom and don't have to worry about a cord. I am excited to travel with this tool tool, it will be very handy.

The Unbound Cordless Multi-Styler was just okay. I was really excited about it being Cordless and charging through a usb cable. The concept is innovative and super convenient when needing to do your hair in the car or somewhere outside of the home. It gets hot quickly. The curling function works great! I was able to get a wavy style easily. however, I wouldn't use it as my everyday curler- just great as an in the go replacement. My main issue was with the straightener- it didn't work because it didn't flat iron in anyway. I wished that the straightener worked so that I could possibly pack one thing when traveling or on the go.

I was able to try the Conair Unbound Cordless Multi-Styler as a sample and I was so excited for it to come. The concept of a wireless straightener that I can use on the go, in the other room, etc. sounded great. The straightener showed up and I let it charge for a significant amount of time per the instructions. Once I was able to use it, my takeaways were
- Doesn't seem to get as hot as it says
- The plates are tough, it pulled on my hair multiple times (may just be cause its new)
- It shuts off by itself after a few minutes. So I turned it on, let it heat up until it said it was good and was only able to get about 1/4 of my hair before it died.
- It just didn't seem to straighten very well. I have pretty fine hair so my hair is typically fairly easy with a hot iron and only takes a few minutes. This took longer than that, and I still wasn't satisfied with the results.
I do think it would be beneficially to have on the go if you need some touch ups, but you need to make sure its fully charged first.

I am not overly impressed by this heat tool I received as a sample. It doesn't run very smoothly through my hair, it feels a bit rough. The beat setting for my hair type didn't produce much of a curl and is more work than my usual hair wand. I feel the buttons are awkwardly placed and I almost didn't find them without the instructions. The battery doesn't seem to last long enough to do a thick head of hair either. Could be much better.
