Comments about First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy:

I bought this based on positive reviews to treat my dry lips in hopes of finding a solution better than Chapstick. At first it feels hydrating and soothing but the feeling doesn't last long. It doesn't stay on your lips long enough to protect against the cold and it has also made my lips much worse. I have never had cracked lips before in my life until using this product. I'm very disappointed as I had high hopes.

Best Lip Repair

By Brandy

from Fort Wayne, Indiana

Comments about First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy:

I absolutely love this product! The Midwest has very cold winters and I am constantly grabbing for my chapstick. With others I have to reapply often as I feel like it dries out too fast, but not with this product! It feels so smooth and repairs my lips well. I don't have to reapply often and it heals my dry and cracked lips. Its a bit pricey, but its worth it. You don't need much to get relief!

I'm a fan of several First Aid Beauty products and was looking for a lip balm to replace my fave which was almost gone. I prefer a squeeze applicator so I thought I'd give his one a try and I'm so glad I did! My 55 year old lips are feeling soft & moisturized!

Comments about First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy:

I get really bad eczema on my lips. I was hoping l could use this as a everyday lip balm. I tried it for a week. It didn't help my eczema. It's a good lip balm for regular skin types but not for people with eczema on their lips. On an Eczema blog, I a read about an alternative called Lano Lip 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm. It worked for me.

Comments about First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy:

I chose this product because I had wanted to try the brand and I also needed a new lip treatment, and this seemed to be one of their best reviewed products so I was sold. This product is nothing special, and not worth the price. If I wanted something I had to reapply all day I would just buy a drugstore lipbalm that smells better and is cheaper. This does not moisturize deeply at all, and does not last. The treatment I had before this would make my lips so soft and smooth without even exfoliating them first, and my boyfriend (who is a little dense on beauty products) would always notice my lips after using my old one and would even ask to use it. *Do not recommend at all.

Contains carnauba wax, caused allergic reaction for me

          • Allergic reaction
          • Irritating

          Best Uses

Comments about First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy:

I have extremely sensitive lips and I'm allergic to lanolin and petroleum. I had suspected I may be allergic to carnauba wax also but I wasn't sure until I tried this lip balm. I've had excellent results with the FAB Ultra Repair Intensive Lip Balm (and several other FAB products), but I was hoping to find a similar product for a more reasonable price. Unfortunately this lip balm didn't work for me.

Within hours of applying it for the first time, my lips got red and tingly and then began itching. I tried it again the following day just to be sure the lip balm was the culprit, and that time my lips got swollen in addition to the redness, tingling, and itching.

I read the ingredients list on the Ulta page before buying and I didn't see anything that raised red flags for me. When I had the allergic reaction I read the ingredients list on the actual tube and was very surprised to find out that it contained carnauba wax. I would not have bought it if I had known that. The confusion came from the fact that Ulta only lists the genus species name of the carnauba tree (copernicia cerafera) on the ingredients list but does not call it carnauba wax. The actual product tube lists both the genus species name and also calls it by its common name. Maybe it's my fault for not educating myself on the less commonly used name for this ingredient, but I think it's important for Ulta to list the ingredients exactly as they appear on the product.

So if you have a known allergy to carnauba wax, stay away from this lip balm. Otherwise I'm sure this is a perfectly fine lip balm for people without sensitive lips. I'll be returning it though.
