Most Helpful Positive Review Hated it in the winter, love it in the summer Since I don't have particularly sensitive skin, my approach to moisturizer is of the "if it's on sale" variety, and "on sale" it was. I got this in the winter time, and I didn't love it then. I didn't care for the lightness and weird, wet, cooling sensation because it was, well, cold. I didn't feel like it was heavy enough for wintertime dryness, but I used it for it's soothing properties over other exfoliating products, and for the most part, it did the job, so I just kept using it bit by bit. Now, that we're in July/August and it's in the near triple digits, that wet, cooling sensation is TO DIE FOR, so I've been reaching for it more. Not only that, when I recently had a mishap with accidentally combining sensitizing ingredients that could have left my face totally inflamed, this saved my skin. I washed the other products off and put this on, the burning stopped and I was immediately soothed. In short, for the wintertime, if you have balanced to dry skin, you may need something a bit heavier than this, or you need to layer it over with something, but in the summer, and for sensitive or sensitized skin, this is a godsend.
Most Helpful Critical Review Didn't work for my Sensitive Skin I was excited to try this product after hearing so many positive things about the brand. The light-weight formula and barrier rebuilding seemed really promising for my sensitive, rosacea prone skin. The moisturizer was nice in texture and felt light on the skin (definitely could be worn during the day). However, my skin began to sting and burn as soon as I applied it. I didn't see any noticeable irritation and the stinging stopped after a few minutes, so I wondered if it was just a fluke for my first time using it. I tried the product two more times and had the same results. My skin is pretty sensitive, but normally I'll experience redness or hives, not such a severe and immediate stinging. Wish this product worked for me, but I guess I'll have to keep looking!

I wasn't able to wear any make-up for a about 10 days. Everyday and night I would apply this barriair cream. I saw the difference in a few days by using this. My face was brighter and smoother now.
Not moisturizing enough 2
Itscyndo from Los Angeles, Ca
Not a horrible product but not great. It does sting a little in sensitive areas. It also foams up so I have to mix the cream each time before I use it or it will pill on my face. Not worth the work at all. I finished the bottle because it was expensive and I only paid half of what's it's worth.
I love that it's fragrance free! We need more products that are fragrance free
Barrier cream 5
AJMOMMA from Oklahoma
Love this product. I have oily skin and this does great and don't add, if not been better sence I started using this.
worth it 5
Fernanda from Colorado
I damaged my moisture barrier from trying too many products and using some stuff with fragrance, so I bought this to help restore it. If your moisture barrier is damaged, it will sting at first, but so will anything. This is the only thing that left me mositurized. At first I was so bad that I had to put on like 4 coats of it, but after just a little of using this (along with my peach & lilly calming cleanser and kinship spf) I only need one application. It is small and expensive so I don't think I'll be buying as an every day moisturizer, but it did heal my skin and I would recommend if you feel like theres nothing left to help your skin because it does work!
Good Finish, Bad reaction 3
Lou from Boston
Had a nice smoothing semi-matte finish, but irritated sensitive areas. Also, not moisturizing enough for price.
Wonderful product for aging crepe skin 5
Nina from New Braunfels
I needed something that would help with the look of aging skin. My sister told me I had crepe skin. That sounds so awful. So I asked a sales attendant if there was a reasonably priced product that would help. She recommended Ultra Repair Barriair Cream. If I'm frugal with the product, it can last me up to 3-4 months in the summer and about 3 months in the winter.
Thought the cream would foam up like a bubble mask 5
Cat from Los Angeles, CA
I expected it to foam up like a bubble mask, but it just feels like a regular gel moisturizer when you put it on your face. I like the product though, skin feels nice after using the cream, but I would use a heaver product on top of it at night. The rice powder like smell is interesting.
just right level of moisture 5
KZ from TX
This was perfect for my skin which tends to be oily but dehydrated and easily irritated. It was moisturizing without being heavy and soaked into my skin nicely.
Do not buy! 1
Jenn from Prosperity, Pa
This moisturizer just caked on my skin and I ended up peeling it off! No moisturizing! Don't buy!!
I'll keep buying this product again and again 5
Kenz from TN
This moisturizer helped me so much! I have combination/sensitive skin. My T-Zone (forehead, nose, and chin) are usually oily while my cheeks are very dry and patchy. Because I have sensitive skin, it is difficult to find a moisturizer that doesn't irritate my skin AND can actually work for my combination skin type. When I started using this product, I saw results within 48 hours. It provided such relief on my dry areas. It doesn't leave a shiny residue and works well with makeup. Highly recommended.
Stings my skin 2
DevonOsh from MN
I like the texture of this product, but it causes painful burning and stinging on my face when applied. I goes away after a little while and I can't tell if it's causing additional irritation beyond that, but I will still be returning. Also, seemed expensive for the amount you get. It says "Safe for sensitive skin" on the box but if you have very sensitive skin I would avoid it.
Light as air 5
Jenn from Burnsville, mn
I love the texture. It feels foamy until you start to rub it in your face. I have super sensitive skin that's pretty dry and it moisturizes it like a charm. There's no fragrance and a little goes a long way. The price point is solid as well.

Great for dry patches 5
ChiChiR from Louisiana
This works wonders for dry patches! I tap a tiny amount directly onto the dry patch prior to applying foundation. The foundation sits perfectly on top!!! You'd never know there was a dry patch under my make up. A little goes a long way so don't let the airy texture in the pot fool you. Not greasy at all.
Love! 5
Mary from IL
This is by far my favorite lotion during the summer ONLY! I am combo/oily. Super oily during the summer especially since I use sun screen but this lotion is amazing and feels so smooth on your skin when applying. I do NOT recommend for winter (at least for my skin) because I get drier during the winter so I need something a little stronger. Love this product.
I would definitely buy this product again! 5
CA from CA
I recently had a laser treatment on my face and this product has helped in the healing process. I use in the morning after I put on my Hyaluronic Acid on my face. It's non greasy and I use in in the AM and PM. Great results from this product!
100% will buy again! 5
Bea from Bowling Green, KY
My face is usually extremely dry and has patches at times. I've tried multiple products with not so great results. I used this before bed and it was a complete difference. After using it 3 times, my dryness was gone and my face felt amazing. I will definitely be buying this again when I start running low.
Try it for yourself 4

I don't understand why people were saying they were disappointed? Everyone's skin is different. I personally love this product on my face , it's super lightweight and I feel like it repaired my skin. I don't wear much makeup on my face but even when I do , this doesn't irritate my skin. I'm already on my second cream. The only "con" I can think of is that it should be bigger in size for the price. That's why I'm only giving 4 stars.
The name is deceiving 2
myhomezoo from Overland Park, KS
I was disappointed in this item, in part due to the deceptive name. This really doesn't form any kind of barrier. It's a very light, mousse-like moisturizer and it doesn't have ingredients to seal in moisture, so it ultimately causes water-loss and dryness. Needs another layer on top to seal it in.
Disappointed 2
RZ from MA
I had such high hopes for this. It really doesn't do anything, and caused irritation to my dry sensitive acne prone skin. If you have skin like mine you are better off either going completely natural with plain Shea butter/ or castor oil etc.... or spending the extra money on Dermalogica intensive moisturizer the one with no essential oils in it. I was sad this didn't work but you don't even get that much product so it's overpriced junk anyway. I don't get all the rave reviews... maybe for oily skin or combo it's better.
Best daytime moisturizer 5
Jess from California
I love this stuff! It's super fluffy and absorbs almost instantly upon applying it, which is great when you're doing your makeup in a rush. I feel like I don't get as oily during the day either which is great! I do like to use something a little heavier at night though. I have super sensitive, red, acne prone skin and this hasn't caused any bad reactions or any new breakouts which is a miracle, so this will always be a staple in my daytime routine as long as they keep making it 🙂
Literally air 2
Linda from Cleveland
The moisturizer separates into a solid layer and a foamy layer that is basically air. It seemed strange to mix the two layers before applying, but I could not imagine I was supposed to apply the foam itself. By weight, this moisturizer is a total ripoff!
One of my faves 5
Kris from Pennsylvania
I love this cream. When I first opened it it looked like a normal cream, and there was like a seal popping sound. The second time I opened it the next day, it was bubbly and a really cool texture. The cream has a lot of great ingredients, is light weight on the face, and absorbs right in. Overall, it makes my skin feel soft and hydrated. This is a winning moisturizer for my combo skin.
Hands down- THE BEST 5
Britt from Hagerstown, md
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this moisturizer. It's frothy, super light weight. And definitely packs the hydration! It's great for very sensitive/sensitized skin as well! I even got my sister hooked on it! She's new to skincare and has special needs. This line is saved both of our skin!
I will be buying this product again !!!!!!!!!!! 5
