Most Helpful Positive Review LOVE I'm a ginger. Naturally super super pale! I've been self-tanning for a long time and have tried dozens of tanners. I was a loyal Loving Tan fan & kept going back to that one until one day they didn't have it at my Ulta and I had a tan emergency. The sales associate recommended Bali Body ultra dark so I snagged it & have been hooked ever since!! It's SO DARK but olive/gray based so it looks natural! I shave & exfoliate & moisturize the night before, put on one layer in the morning, wait 30 min, add another layer to my legs, arms & chest, & then wait like 8-9 hours. Rinse off the color guide & it's beautiful !! If you're a self tan veteran like me, you'll like it. If you have no experience, you'll probably not like it lol.
Most Helpful Critical Review Save yourself the time and money with this product This product confuses me. Mostly because I can't figure out what the heck is going on with it. Ive been self tanning for years and have tried many brands. I was also a rep for a self tanning company so I like to think I know a thing or two about self tanning. I've attempted tanning with this product three times. The first time looked good, but within two days faded soooo much I ended up self tanning again with a different product. The second time I used this I decided to do two coats, each coat a half hour apart. It looked great, a beautiful dark bronze. I was happy with this application. Now for my third time, I did the exact same process as the previous time..two coats half hour apart. It looks awful. The tan isn't streaky or uneven, but this is probably bc it's also nonexistent. It looks like the tan you get from one application of a light gradual self tanner, you know barely there have to squint to tell. Not the results I'm looking for when using ultra dark, two coats of it! My chest and stomach don't even look like I applied to those areas.
So would I recommend this? No I wouldn't. It's too unpredictable.
That being said, I do like the Bali body tanner in dark. Ultra dark has been a let down.

I usually shave and exfoliate in the shower and wait about 20-30 min before I apply. I'll throw on black leggings and a hoodie for the rest of the day and then shower. Looks great! My top half has always tanned golfer and beautiful, but girl! My legs have been pasty! Now I feel great again!
Amazing Self Tanner 5
morgan from New York
I love this self tan and use it often. Leaves a natural looking tan without spots or streaks.

I bought this thinking that it would be amazing but it's actually horrible. it smells really bad and you will be orange. would not recommend this product at all. definitely not the moose maybe the lotion
SO STICKY!!! 2
Jill from Ohio
The color honestly wasn't terrible when applying it but I couldn't even stand wearing it for an hour because I felt so sticky and disgusting. Guess I'll just be a pale for my wedding.

bless my heart moment • this is DARK. one may even say ULTRA dark. super intense, ordered this one by mistake. if you are super white, like no color, how about the dark one, original one. its a beautiful color, super easy application and nice rinse off • didn't take off like 6 shades. maybe one? but since I have no tan or a couple shades darker than a base it is easy to tell after the 3rd day..splotches! but!!! after a shower and lotion it blends, miraculously. I actually kind of love it (;
Not sure why the bad reviews 4

I've tried ever self tanner Ulta carries. I'm pretty pasty white, and this is the best out of all of them including at tropez. The key is to use a clean mitt and work fast because it does dry quickly. It's a tad darker than the st tropez which i appreciate because it's less applications, less money, less patchiness. Lasts about the same as a typical self tanner about 2-3 days. Smell is neutral, nothing too strong. Have not gone back or wanted to try any other tanner besides this one. And don't think it's orangey, it's very similar to the st tropez dark if a slight shade darker, but not so much orange.
Do not buy this!! SAVE YOUR MONEY 1

Oh my god. Do not waste your money on this. Immediately after putting it on I looked outrageously orange and the tanner was insanely streaky. I washed it off within a half hour of application. Just don't buy it. I buy ultra dark tanners all the time, it is my favorite kind but this is an absolute do not buy.
THE BEST !! Get their Mett!! 5

I have been using this tanner for over a year, and it is my favorite !!!
I do recommend getting the company's tanning mit to help bend the tanner. I originally ordered this tanner from the company's website. It is long lasting , I can leave it on an 1hr and have a nice tan or leave is on 5 hrs and feel like a bronzed goddess!
Not as great as I wanted it to be 2
Courtney from Ohio
I REALLY wanted to like this tanner. It gets so dark which I love and it lasts a decent amount of time without getting streaky. BUT it dries out my skin so bad it's so uncomfortable. Unfortunately I don't think it's worth the hype.
Really Great 5

First time buyer of this self tanner and it's a win. I'm not super experienced with applying on my own, but for the first use I did one even later all over my body and left it on for about 2 hours just to see what a base would look like. It gives the most even and natural looking tan ever. I walked into work and immediately my manager mentioned how sunkissed I looked. She was shocked when I told her it was a fake tan and even more shocked when I said it wasn't a profession spray tan. Would highly recommend.
Adds a nice tan but takes toooooo long to dry 4
Cyn from Los angeles
Gives an even and pretty tan. Make sure you pay attention to dryer areas (knees, elbows and heels) because this tan will look funny on those areas. I like to add lotion to those areas before applying the tan. The only part of this tanning foam that I don't like is that it takes hours to completely dry. Other than that I give it a 8.5/10
My favorite tanning mouse EVER. 5
Skylar from New Jersey
My favorite tanning mouse. The first time you apply it it is very dark and dirty looking but once you shower it leaves a smooth dark glow. LOVE it.
Horrible 1

I've tried so many tanners and this one is truly horrible. I'm so pale and consider myself a self tanning pro. Initial color looks great but the way it fades and wears isn't worth it at all!! I can find pros in pretty much any formula and this one isn't worth it.

great dark natural tone 4
brittany from ohio
this tan is beautiful! it's a dark natural looking tan and I love it. the con is its sticky thru the night but I can deal for the great color. I'm very very pale naturally and this makes me dark I do one layer then 30 min later another layer sleep in it and take a quick rinse in the morning and its perfection. it's a green/gray based tan I'm usually a red undertone kinda girl but I love the color I got from this it just looks so real.
really great! 5

this is great if you're wanting a really dark tan and it's long lasting! I tried the their tanning mousse in dark and definitely prefer their formula in ultra dark. it's very long lasting and give a natural looking tan!
Disappointed 2
JCOIN from Illinois
Hard to blend out to begin with. The color is wonderful, but even after leaving it on over night it all rinses off In the shower. You can't even tell you used it. It also has a bad smell and leaves you feeling sticky.
STICKY 2
H from Michigan
I was excited to use this but it literally left me feeling stickier than any other tan out there even after putting a blow dryer to my skin. And it also moved around a lot when applying. 2 stars because it is a decent color
the BEST!! 5

I have been self tanning since I was 12. I am now 30. I have used every fake bake, Tartes, coola, clarins, st Tropez, at Moritz ALL of them. I have very fair skin and I am OBSESSED because I NEVER get streaks and it lasts at least a week!! ALSO I do about 2 coats with a fan on high. the next day I JUST rinse and even wearing white clothes sweating in TX summer NOTHING came off!!! I was SHOCKED.
Great color but disappointed 2
T from Atlanta
At first, this product gave me a beautiful color. I looked like I had just come in from being on the beach all day, however after leaving it on over night and rinsing off, most of the color washed away. I have used it twice now because I don't like to waste product but I'm probably going to go back to Loving Tan because, like another review stated, it's very unpredictable.
Best out of 2 different tanners 5
Lona from Pennsylvania
I tried the St. Tropez self tanner first, fell in love with it. But it does leave you uneven sometimes even with the mit. I decided to try Bali Body and I LOVE it. So much for natural looking and great coverage!!!
Bali body 5

Good tanner! It is kinda complicated to apply it, I usually apply it when I'm home for the night and leave on for 6 hours so those hours waiting u have to be careful not to rub ur skin while it's drying and u do feel kinda sticky but once the 6 hours is up I wash it off and it leaves a nice smooth dark tan without a cent and it does come off pretty easy too after a week it'll start to look patchy, I find it easier to scrub it off with coffee grounds. Better then any self tanner I've used.

Nice color, not as dark for one hour 4
nb from nyc
I thought since its ultra dark after one hour I would be pretty dark. not so much. it does give a nice color for one hour though. however I cannot sleep with any tanner overnight so I cant leave this one for more than an hour. so if you leave it on for more than that I'm sure you will be pretty dark, but the one hour time does give a nice tan. no streaks surprisingly. doesnt look orange
Beautiful color. Tricky application. 4
TLD from New Jersey
The color of this self tanner is gorgeous. Best color result I've had. For me, the application is a bit tricky. The tanner seemingly tended to move around as I applied, if I'd go over a spot it seemed to wipe off what I had previously applied. That could just be the color guard moving, hard to tell. Application was a bit streaky, too. Also, this formula doesn't seem to last as long as others I've used. I could easily get 10-12 days out of other brands, I barely got a week from this. BUT the color is so lovely, I've already repurchased another bottle to have when I run out. The results are worth it. Highly recommend.
