First of all, if you think this product is greasy, you're probably using too much. I've been using Biosilk serum for 10 years now and I won't stop! I rub a nickel size amount into my palms and rub my hands together to warm it up. Then, I run it evenly through my hair when it's damp OR dry. It helps my dry hair feel soft and look shiny. It's a little pricey but trust me when I say, a little goes a long way. If you've tried the CHI hair serum, the results are similar to that but the Biosilk serum smells SO much better. You won't regret it!
Great for curly thick hair. My daughter uses it all the time. It's a little difficult to use due to its runny texture and it doesn't take much at all. It feels oily but doesn't feel that way after it dries on her hair. I have straight thin hair and it makes my hair look oily and limp

When I bought this I thought it was going to be just like any other shampoo, but NO its the best shampoo I've used so far and im probably not switching shampoos. Apart from it smelling amazing it leave my hair so soft and silky! Also NO frizz

Got this as a sample and it did make my gray hair feel softer. Not sure if it is worth adding to my hair routine. May be better for people with longer hair

As my title explains, i dont even have sensitive skin… but my skin is sensitive to THIS! Specificically mu scalp. I had a reaction like a chemical burn on the back of my scalp to this. I had initially thoughg it was from bugspray so some time later (when things had healed) I used it again. Within a couple hours i was in so much pain that I shampoo'd my hair with cold water (because any warmer was horribly painful) and my scalp was completely raw, especially in the back, I had blisters on the tops of my ears and redness on my neck and shoulders. Thankfully i dudnt lose my hair, but I have permanent scarring in an area the size of my hand spread out on the back right side of my scalp now (for reference, I'm very tall, so my hands are porportionate, I usually wear a women's XL or 2XL glove, or mens medium to large glove, so my hands are not small) I didnt even apply it to my scalp, its just what got on my scalp from my hair. I have fine curly hair that falls somewhere between 2C and 3A, it was not color treated at that time, and I dont have sensitive skin at all. I understand this works well for many, but i suggest a patch test for anyone new to tryimg this, and to avoid it completely if you have sensitive skin. Outside of that reaction, it has a strong scent im not fond of, and it made my hair too heavy, even though i used very little, and it was extremely drying.

I have thin fine straight hair and this makes my hair so so soft and shiny. I use less than a dime size when my hair is wet. I'm a dog groomer so usually once I start bathing my hair starts to frizz and get wavy. Not a single strand gets out of place now!

Found this at TJ Maxx in a set with conditioner and shampoo, all for $25. I have fine hair and this makes it so silky, not greasy. I hair wash once a week and it hasn't changed that. I personally like the smell, smells like salon product. I will be keeping an eye out at TJ Maxx and Marshall's from now on.

The ingredients listed on the site as of 01/2023 are incorrect. Farouk has rolled out a new formula and most of not all the sites I've seen still have the old ingredient listed. I don't know how the new formula works but I'll say it's missing the top three "cones" and now the first ingredient mineral oil and not a silicon. I'm no chemist but those aren't the same. Heat trained naturals beware when using the new formula for silk presses.

I have thick wavy hair that ends up frizzy and fluffy if I don't use product. I thought the Bio Silk would leave my hair greasy, it does not. I rub a little into my hair when wet. My hair dries silky and practically straight where I barely have to use a straightening iron. I love it!

I've been using this product for 28 years. I and my daughters can't live without it!! A couple of times when I couldn't find it at the stores, I ended up buying something else to hold me over. After, I learned to always buy the big bottle (saving $) and to always have an extra one in my cabinet. I have the traveling bottle as well and before I go anywhere, I make sure to fill it up. My hair feels unhealthy without it!!!

It's alright. It hydrates my hair, but it doesn't make it silky and smooth. I have to use other products to achieve that. I'll finish the bottle as it hydrates, but I won't buy again.

I have thick wavy hair and this is the only thing that tames the frizz! I can just blow dry and go. Also it helps when styling, adds extra softness

Love the Bio Silk serum. Smooths my naturally curly hair without weighing it down. And it only takes a dime sized amount. Just wish it was still available at the stores.

this products is on my list of probably about 10 to 15 products that I just can't go without. it absolutely has changed everything about my hair when I used to straighten it all the time and even now when it's curly the health of my hair comes back it helps with all of my tangles when I get sick, especially from Corona I was so sick for so long that my hair got matted up from being thrown up, I couldn't take a shower because I was hot and cold all the time well let me tell you I was so scared that I was going to have to rip out my hair or get it cut but this stuff saved it I put it in my hair and let it sit for a few days and BAM! I would definitely recommend this for all of the curly girl hairs out there it's awesome but what's even more awesome as you can use it to shave you can use it on your body it helps you tan if you're tanning and it's so good for you you can just feel the difference but that smell though am I right? that iconic smell that everyone loves. seriously if they ever take this stuff away I would cry I'll buy it all out if I think they're going out of business they need to come out with more products too I would totally buy the whole line

No matter the efficacy, I can't use it at all. It smells like 1970's old lady perfume. They should really come out with an unscented. If you're sensitive to smells, do not purchase.

Makes hair manageable and feel like silk! Great product! I highly recommend this product especially for long thick curly or frizzy hair! Love it!!!

its seriously just....average lol 1. the technology exists to have better-smelling hair oils....why does it smell like those 90's/early 2000's hair oils/grease??! 2. i am not new to using hair oils, ive used many types of them for YEARS. so i know what the drill is for my hair type (fine, thin, straight) and it doesnt lock in any moisture when used on damp hair, it doesn't nicely coat each hair/the ends to allow the hairs to flow past each other when the hair dries. its almost like it gives it a texture rather than smoothing it out? when used on dry hair its, again, just .....meh lol ive used 7 dollar hair oils that do a better job. 3. the price...... goodbye.

My mother has been using this for years! My hair gets frizzy so I do use this often even after straightening my hair it gives you a very sleek, clean look. I love it. All you need is 2-3 drops a small Amount goes a long way.

I struggle with a lot of frizz due to my curly, thick, frizzy texture and bought this hoping it would tame it. While it didn't directly tame my frizz, it softened my hair SO MUCH with less than a quarter size on wet hair. I finished it up with some on dry hair, and while there was still poofiness, my texture was SOOO soft and made it a lot more manageable. Smells strongly, but it's not an overt smell. For my type 3 hair ladies/gents, highly recommended!

cliche to say this item has been in my routine for a while. It has a strong fragrance but I love it. Recommend on wet hair to prevent frizz. It's a staple for a reason

Ignore the 1 star haters, this is my go to product no complaints whatsoever I either use it when I get out of the shower with wet or dry hair and after styling my hair I might put a little more on my hair. Only use no more then a dime size and rub it throughout my hair and leaves it silky and shiny. I've been using this since I was 13 years old and now 28. No complaints about this product as long as you use it right and read the directions.

Used a small amount of product as directed. It made my hair shiny, but it felt sticky. Would not buy again.

I bought this product in hopes that it would be the hair serum to finally work on me. I have very thick hair that is always dry and frizzy with flyaways. Despite this product being on the pricier side, the same thing happens with this product as when I use cheaper products: my hair frizzes back up after a few minutes. I have tried using it both wet and dry and the result is the same. It has a nice smell, and it makes my skin soft, but I will not be buying the product again.
