I started using it when I noticed my deep reds were staining my nails. Using the base coat before I no longer get the awkward leftover color before my new manicure. I now use it before any creme or jelly OPI polish (not just reds or dark shades) because of the look. I always get compliments on how my nails look like gel nails, but they're natural! One base coat, two coats of color and a top coat for thr perfect manicure.Most Helpful Critical ReviewDoes nothing.This is terrible. It does absolutely NOTHING. I put it under different OPI nail polishes (I tried it under a red, a blue, and a light pink). When I took the color off, each and every nail was stained. I am currently looking at my terrible looking blue tinted nails. Further, it doesn't help prolong the longevity of the color. I need to repaint after 2 days. All in all, terrible. It dries so quick and makes polish last so so long without any staining and minimal chipping. For those wondering, no, it's not purple. The polish is a clear with a slight red purple tint to it. Polish didn't go on smooth and drys somewhat on top but not through.Favorite Nail Product5Nail Junkie from NashvilleI've been using OPI for years but didn't try this base coat until about a year ago and I don't think I'll switch any time soon! It dries to the touch in about 5 minutes and keeps a great barrier between your nail and whatever color polish you use. I usually put it on at night before I go to bed, then paint the color on the next morning. I work with my hands a lot and I'm REALLY hard on my nails, so I tend to chip them a lot when I use a cheap polish. But using this base coat and another OPI color, I can make it last for 5 or 6 days when working, about 10 days when I'm not!
