I've been using this for years! I can't find a color that compares! It's gone everywhere ! I swear this color had a following !!! Please put it back on the shelves !
This is one of the worst eyeliners I have ever used. The color of it is very rich and black, but that is the only good thing about it. I used it to tightline my upper lash line, and for the rest of the day it is literally smudging off onto my undereye area. I have rarely used any products in my life that give 'raccoon eyes.'I even tried putting UDPP (eye shadow primer) under my eyes and a lot of eyeshadow to try and keep it in place, but NOTHING helps. Really disappointing because I tend to like Maybelline products a lot. This eyeliner is terrible, terrible, terrible. I'm going to just end up throwing it out.

I LOVE this eyeliner and have been using the brown black for years. I don't know how other people wear their eyeliner, but I've always lined my upper lashes only and never had a problem with it for everyday use. Love that's is smudgy enough to fill in my lashes to give a fuller look without looking obvious. The few times I have lined my lower lids, this does go on lightly and smudges, but you can go over it again to get a darker look. It stays for me just fine even though I have oily skin. I even asked my makeup coordinator to use this for my wedding because her professional stuff didn't hold. Bonus that this doesn't have any nasty chemicals in it (PFOS). Please don't discontinue this, smudgyness is a preference and I won't use any other kind of eyeliner!

This has been my eyeliner for years...and now I cannot buy the chestnut brown I love. So upset. Was a great color.

The eyeliner goes on effortlessly and does not tug the skin. The color is perfect and it's not too dark or too light. Easy to wash off too. I have used so many other brands but I always return to this eyeliner brand.

This eyeliner is still horrible. The same raccoon eyes it gave me in middle school and no one would tell me haha

Doesn't last long at all, especially if you're someone that has oily eyelids.

Ok im used to buying L.A. colors because I don't have a lot of money. I decided to really splurge and get the Maybelline define a line which was pretty costly and what I got was worse than the L.A colors honestly. I put it on my lash line and within 20 min it was ran down my face. So I tried it again and the same thing. I trusted that Maybelline was a top of the line makeup and its not. I'm really let down, I cant afford expensive makeup and I'm sad that it was big let down

The eyeliner was always great quality but the browns available are too dark! Chestnut brown was my go to for YEARS! Now I can't find it anywhere ... Please bring it back!

This is THE WORST eyeliner I have ever used. It goes on easily, but smears everywhere absolutely horribly. So embarrassing how badly it gets everywhere and makes you look like a raccoon. Waste of money, especially for being fairly expensive!

Chestnut brown eyeliner was my daily go-to eyeliner for years. I have yet to find a better color.. Please bring it back

I have spent way too much time and money looking for a replacement, all I want is the Define a Line eyeliner in Chestnut Brown . Are there any leftovers sitting around some warehouse somewhere ??

I have always loved Maybelline eyeliner period I've been searching to find a new one to replace the one I'm almost out of period it's so easy to apply don't and I love the way it brings my eyes out period the other end has a little remover in case you put just a little too much.

So disappointed you got rid of the chestnut brown color. Had been using it for over twenty years. These colors are too dark. I really like the light/shimmer color of the chestnut brown. Please bring back!!

I wish I would have read reviews before purchasing. Purchased the other day for the first time and was excited to put it on for work... an hour or so later when I noticed my reflection and I looked like a melted raccoon!! I was so embarrassed and the more I tried to remove the worse it got. I had only applied a small line to my upper lid and somehow it got all over my under eye. Even after getting home and using makeup remover I'm having a hard time removing all the smudging. So disappointed and hoping to be refunded. Definitely not using it again.

This pencil is perfect! It glides. It leaves a nice dark line the first time, but you can double back if you like, for a darker line.

I love how this eyeliner contrast with brown eyes.

I bought this because my tarte maneater was running low....and it's bad. I love the pigment of it but it's so smudgy upon application I have to constantly look in the mirror just to be sure I'm raccoon free.
Lone Wolfie from Minnesota
it goes on super smooth but you cant touch your eye or else you look like a raccoon

Like many others, I am older and have loved this eyeliner pencil for years. Now I can't find the product or a color that is similar. There isn't anything out there like it - PLEASE bring this line back to our stores!

Advertised as smudge proof, yet I've never had a product smudge so much!! It makes a mess and comes off of you barely tap it.
suheid15 from Long Beach, CA
I have tried everything, setting it with dark eye shadow, but it just smears too much! I put it on and I look like I slept or took a shower with it on.
GMR from Dallas TX
Can use to line eye inside and out

I have used 2 or 3 colors for years! Easy to use, smudges easily with the soft tip to soften the look for adult women! Now I cant find 2 of the 3 shades I use! I have now bought several other Maybelline eye liners and none compare and I would return them if I could! Chestnut brown and Brownish Black are the best for women who are not trying to look like they are teens!
Nurse purtie from Texas
Very nice and smooth.
Thefox from New Zealand
I really WANT my eyeliner to smudge a bit. Others cake but this goes on smoothly. I can only use the slate gray, however, which is certainly black enough fo me. I wish Mabelline would make a navy blue! But the smudging softens the look.
AngelM from Bristol, CT
Goes on easy but be sure not to touch it or rub your eyes or it will smear.
