I've tried many creams and definers but this product coils my curls better than I could using my fingers. Personally I haven't tried a leave-in by ouidad, but that will be my next purchase after my devacurl leave in runs out. I will say, with define and shine, I have to use a leave in before to provide moisture for the ouidad product to lock in. But once my hair is properly and deeply moisturized, it lasts until my next wash day. For reference: I have 3c, low porosity, fine, curly/coily hair. It also stays too crunchy. I have to crunch out the crunch and my curls still feel stiff. It also leaves the hair, very dry and brittle if I don't use a leave in conditioner.
