An Ulta employee noticed that I was having trouble deciding what I should buy, so she took me to the salon and asked the stylists for advice. They recommended I try the Pravana toning mask, and the employee who helped me recommended that I try the travel size just to see how I liked it. All I can say is "wow" because this mask really did get rid of most of the brassy/ yellow tones of my hair. I'm going to repurchase the travel size again and see if I notice even more of a difference the next time I wash my hair because my hair looks very close to what I want it to be. Thank you so much to the employees who helped me. I very much appreciate it. As for using the product. I shampooed my hair with the blonde shampoo first, and then towel dried my hair before applying the mask evenly through out my hair. Because I have 3c/4a type hair, I knew leaving the mask on for 5 minutes wasn't going to do anything, so I read another review that recommend leaving the mask on for 30 to 40 minutes, rinsing and then putting in a moisturizing hair mask. Depending on your hair type, you might want to keep the mask in for longer, or lesser than the recommended 5 minutes. Since I wasn't sure how well this mask would work. After applying the mask I put a plastic bag over my head, so the heat from my head would help the toner develope more. After ten minutes, I rinsed a peice of my hair to see how much it toned. I still felt that my hair needed more time, so after about 20 to 30 minutes I rinsed the product out and left one of my favorite hair masks in my hair for like 5 minutes. Finally, I used up the rest of the tube SATURATING my hair in the mask, and left it on for thirty whole minutes (6x the recommended time on the bottle). Washed it out and my roots were still yellow. I noticed it adhered to the tips of my hair that were more severely bleached than my roots (which had only been bleached and toned once). I suppose it works better on damaged hair, in that case. After I shampooed my hair I raked this purple toning mask into my curls evenly and kept it in for about 30 minutes. Considering I have very thick hair I left it in longer than the recommended amount. If you have thinner hair, then I suggest going with 5 to 10 minutes. It diluted the yellow tone of my hair a significant amount and didn't leave a silver cast like some toners do. My hair still felt clean after rinsing it out. I got the travel sized item and finish the whole thing considering I have a lot of hair. But I do recommend this product even for Natural hair, I will purchase it again. It didn't leave my hair dry either but I wouldn't recommend this product for a moisturizing use so after rinsing it out I went in with a deep conditioner to put the moisture back in my hair.I've tried everything!5Sweetestex from FloridaTHIS. THIS. THIS. It tones my brassy hair perfectly in 5 minutes while I'm in the shower. On top of that, it's also an excellent conditioner, which I've never found in a purple anything. Every purple shampoo and conditioner has a weird dry feeling texture, but this leaves my hair so soft! I no longer need wella toners!
