I have some pretty specific needs: The product had to be curly hair friendly (non-drying, no silicone, no sulfates, no drying alcohols) environmentally friendly, and economical. This product met every single requirement. The first time I used this product, I was fairly unconventional. I picked up the entire pineapple curls line that was available at my local store, (Shampoo, conditioner, and mask) after seeing several good reviews. I hadn't found a styler in my store, so I got creative. I washed my hair, deep conditioned and detangled with the mask, and used this conditioner after as a leave-in conditioner. This kept my hair soft, voluminous, and defined for days. I have also used this conditioner as a regular conditioner, and it is incredibly effective. It packs a big punch with a relatively light formula. As for the fragrance, it's incredibly enticing. The scent is fairly strong in the shower, but nothing unmanageable. The fragrance from the conditioner is much lighter than the fragrance from the shampoo. The entire line smells pleasantly of pi?a colada. If you have curly hair, or just dry hair that tends to be frizzy, I cannot recommend this line enough.Most Helpful Critical Reviewsmells niceI was super excited to try this out because I've been desperate for a good curly hair conditioner. My excitement faded pretty quickly when I actually used this. I had to use SO MUCH to get it through my hair, which made it extremely difficult to rinse out, and then it left my hair sticky, frizzy, and dry. My curls turned into waves, and I looked as though I had just rolled out of bed and decided that bedhead was a good look for me (which it isn't). Even after the first wash & condition I received compliments on my curls. I don't use the matching shampoo because of local hard water and I'm still happy with the slip and curl definition while my hair is wet. I enjoy using this with Pineapple Swirl Curl Defining Cream for soft definition. I used it both as a leave in conditioner and as a wash out conditioner - either way, my hair would end up flat when it air-dried. As for my waves, they became loose to nonexistent, like 1C hair, with NO volume. The smell is artificial pina colada, and it doesn't stay in the hair, out of the shower. Two stars because my hair wasn't frizzy and it was also very smooth. I use this with my Mixed Chicks shampoo (so good). I'm big on smells, I like clean, sweet and pretty scented products. But I like how this product defines your curls and also works well to slick your hair back with strong but soft hold. We buy it all the time.
