I was in the market for a new solid brush cleaner bar and stumbled upon this one. The previous brush cleanser I had been using for the past year was alright, but I frankly haven't been totally satisfied as far as results. I read the reviews of this, compared this cleansing bar to the one I currently use and got three since I could get all three for less than one of the current bar I was using/just about run out of (Buy 2, Get 1). I used one the minute I got it, as I was excited to see how this would work. First thing I noticed is that it doesn't kick up a huge amount of lather and I'm okay with that. I was a little disappointed it didn't include a scrubbing pad, but I have a few already, so it wasn't a make or break thing for me. It would've been helpful, though, if I was to take this on vacation and I didn't have a travel-ready scrubbing pad. But again, not a deal-breaker. I only needed a little bit of the soap on my brush to really give it the clean my brushes needed. The brush that always is the hardest to clean, for me, is foundation since some of my foundations are waterproof and need a bit more scrubbing, even a double cleanse to get fully clean. I only needed one round and it got every bit of foundation out of my brush. That definitely made cleaning my brushes a bit easier. I also noticed that it doesn't take as long to rinse out the soap out of my brushes like the one I was using previously and even then, it would feel like I never got it all. This bar soap cleans beautifully and rinses out just as well. I'm super happy with my purchase and glad I was able to get three of them, so I'm set for awhile. My brushes feel like new once they dry and perform like they did when I first got them. It's like a new brush each time I clean it. I will be a forever fan of this brush cleanser, so great job Ulta!
I was hoping this could be a replacement for the Beauty Blender solids since they're pricey and I honestly don't need that many silicone pads when I have one giant one. I was completely and utterly wrong. Sometimes I'll use one of my very gentle cleansers on my brushes or, if the makeup is really stuck on, I'll use baby shampoo or a tiny bit of Dawn. I prefer to go with my cleansers because if I can use it on my face, then I know it's not going to accidentally transfer something to me later. Yet it seems like maybe the added argan oil (which my face does like by the way) is just making the brushes greasy and repels any cleaning efforts. Or maybe it's how the soap was milled. I'm not sure, but all I know is that I have to pre wash my brushes and then wash them again. I don't have this problem with Beauty Blender solids or using a very tiny dot of cleanser. Brush soap really helps with not hurting my hands when it comes to cleaning my brushes so I'm just not sure why I'd choose a much harder way that's still leaving residue on my brushes. I don't quite get it. I think this is gonna go in the trash and I'm just gonna go back to using the Beauty Blender solids. Listen, if you can make it work, you probably have greater than average arm strength or you might deal only in powder makeup. Awesome for you. I kinda like using liquid and cream mediums with my powder so if it can only handle one type of makeup I find this to be a dud. Huge shame, really. I really wanted this to work and I love so many ULTA brand products. Maybe they could just tweak the formula of this one a teensy bit?

I was almost out of my $4 elf solid cleanser so I opted to try this since it was available locally. I tried to clean 2 brushes and after 15 minutes of trying both were still visibility covered in makeup. I recleaned them in about a minute with the remaining elf cleaner. going to return this one, it's not the least bit effective. the scent is ok but I don't care what it smells like, I just need my brushes clean in a reasonable amount of time. I ended up ordering more directly from elf, a fraction of the price and way more effective.

This smells very good but unfortunately leaves an oily film on brushes. I returned it.

This brush cleansing soap is really good for powders. It takes a few times for foundation brushes and sponges for sure but its squeaky clean after.

This brush/soap cleanser is very bad it did not clean my brushes or sponges at all. I did it a few times with and without a cleaning mat and it was terrible.

I'm thinking dawn dish soap would probably work better. I used over half the container and still couldn't get my 2 brushes as clean as I wanted. I don't wear foundation every day or a lot of foundation when I do, so my brushes aren't even that bad. Also this has heavy fragrance. I try to avoid fragrance due to my sensitive skin. The smell doesn't go away when they're dry. Skip this one.

Not sure how this is considered soap. Does not lather or bubble up it's like having a wet brush and no actual cleaning

Typically I use baby shampoo to clean my makeup brushes. Over time baby shampoo dryer my brushes they didn't feel soft. My foundation, tinted moisturizer and concealer are deep golden brown colors I need brushes cleaner that lathers and conditions my brushes. Not only are my brushes clean but they also smell amazing from the Argon oil. This solid brush cleaner is on point. Draw back- The 1.4 oz cleaned 19 brushes on my first use. Not enough product.

This brush cleaning soap is one of the best! I love the scent - not too heavy and strong - just perfect. My brushes are always clean and soft after cleaning them. This is a must have in your makeup bag!

I'm fairly new to wearing makeup but I knew I'd had to clean my brushes after using them, this was easy to use and it didn't feel like there was a residue left on the brush!

This product has slowly degraded my brush bristles. Every 3rd use or so bristles fall out!!! My brush is about half the length it used to be. Could get the same results with actual soap & water. Not worth it

Cleaned all of my brushes in half the time. The ones I used with liquids (and admittedly procrastinated on cleaning) needed to be cleaned twice but every one of them rinsed clean and felt nice and fluffy as they were drying. I got excited and asked for my teenager's makeup brushes so I could clean them. Oh boy. That was the real test. Their one foundation brush was caked with product and took a lot of scrubbing but I eventually got it back to looking like new! Currently have another soap for them in my cart as well as some more brushes. :)

I have been using this product for a while now (have gone through 3) and I love it! I use it on all my brushes, synthetic & natural, and my beauty sponges without issue. It lathers up very nicely! If you have a lot of lather on your brush scrubber (I use a brush egg) you can just use that without swirling your brush on the soap. This product is not harsh, rinses well, has no fake or chemical scent, and the product lasts a long time Every time this goes on sale I load up! I highly recommend this product!

I usually buy the Morphe solid cleaner, but I think ulta stopped carrying it :( I opted for this instead bc it was affordable. It's not bad! I clean my brushes weekly, so they are never too dirty. I did have to run my foundation brushes on the soap a couple of times to get them completely clean. The brushes dried easily and didn't seem to have any residue on them. I was pleasantly surprised at the ingredient list. Nothing too pore clogging! Love to see it

This is not a dupe to the Morphe brush cleaner. It has not only broken me out completely using it on my brushes, but my brushes are RUINED.
Amy from Central NY
Only cleaner I will use. I use it in conjunction with a textured pad and between the two my brushes look and feel brand new. My foundation brushes obviously get the nastiest and they look new! Maybe others having probs should use the textured pad.

This is AMAZING! It is SO simple to use AND works so well. Just swirl your brushes in it and then rinse the makeup off the brushes and off the soap and it's done! The brushes come SO clean! I am NEVER buying another cleaner again!

I was hoping this would be really convenient and extra clarifying for my brushes, but its just ok. Gets them clean. Easy to use. I wish it made my brushes softer, and would clean better in those deep areas of my larger brushes. Overall, not bad, but probably won't spend the money on it next time.

I have purchased this twice now and will probably continue to do so. It is an easy to manage soap for all 40 of my brushes. I run it under the tap then rub brushes right into the soap and wash it all out. I flip it upside down to dry and then put it away for another 2 weeks. It does a great job with all of my brushes, regardless of the type of bristle.

Got this on a whim for travel. Tried it and didn't get the brushes clean…even after a couple times. I'll stick to my normal cleaning process
Queen from Las Vegas, NV
Definitely better than the spray cleaner! Follow instructions correctly and your brushes will be clean and smell so good. Only thing it goes fast if you have a lot of brushes to clean 😅 lol
Cass from Oklahoma
Cheap and easy to use. Can't really ask for anything better.

This solid soap lasted forever. It had a very light scent. It cleaned my natural and synthetic brushes with easy. Highly recommend!

Anytime I'm in Ulta I always like to look for this product. Not only is it super affordable, but this stuff works wonders! I tried this with my eye shadow brushes and makeup sponges and couldn't even BELIEVE all the built up gunk/makeup that came out of them. I feel so much more hygenic using my brushes now and feel confident that it is helping keep them clean.
