If you do not shake this extremely well, it will leave white dots all over your face and chest. The first time I used it I didn't have a problem. It wasn't until the next time I used it that I noticed white spots all over my face, neck, and chest. The spots eventually go away in about 10 to 15 minutes but I thought it was something to note. However, I definitely love this product and will continue to buy. Keeps me matte and fresh all day plus the smell is a bonus.
I went to purchase this product today and I was so excited because I have always loved the original Fix+ spray. I was excited to have long lasting make up. After I finished my makeup I sprayed this and not only did it dull down my look, but it also left me with a white film of residue all over my face completely ruining my make up.

You MUST shake this setting spray before each use to avoid the white spots on your make up. I like this product.

I have been a loyal Mac product customer for many years. I was surprised & disappointed that this spray did not absorb well on my skin at all, it left white spots on my face, literally looked as if milk splattered on my face. I tried it several times, shook it really well & that didn't help any. Back to their other setting spray that I love.

I have tried many setting sprays and this particular one is troublesome. Even though I shake the bottle vigorously to avoid white spots, they still appear. What's more, the pump gets clogged continuously, which is a problem I've never experienced with other products. Unfortunately, due to all the clogging, my pump broke. I contacted customer service to ask if they could mail me a new one since I live far from a MAC store. However, they said that I had to go to the store where I originally purchased the spray to get a new pump. It seems like customer service also needs improvement.

I purchased this as I have oily skin. So excited to use and did the shake, and it sprayed on my face in drops, I expected a mist. Then it dried with white spots. I have tried 3 times and same results.

I've tried to use it quite a few times,
Moisturiser then foundation then setting powder then I used this spray, but after the spray dries down it breaks down my foundation and concealers . How do I use this ?

I have purchased and repurchased this item many times because it works so well for me. It definitely sets my makeup and keeps it looking fresh after 12+ hrs. I have acne prone skin and this product has never caused a breakout for me. Its very lightweight. I love it!
I see lots of reviewers commenting on the white spots. This has happened to me twice, but I realized that the sprayer was clogged with product and/or I didnt shake it well enough prior to spraying. This is user error and is easily fixed by wiping the sprayer with a damp cloth and keeping it clean after each use! Always be sure to shake it well prior to spraying.

I wanted to love this because I have shiny skin, but it leaves white spots on my face and any other surface around me that it touches. And they are hard to wipe off! Sorry, this was a fail.

I like the spray prior to makeup but the rose smell isn't needed.

I bought this because the coconut scent was out. I was thinking it would be the same, but its def not. Everytine I spray it, it foesnt mist onto your face, also keaves white spots on your skin!

I have oily skin and was hoping this would be a great way to keep my makeup. However, when I took it out the box, it sprayed like a water gun. I tried spraying it on a brush and dabbing my face, but it messed up my makeup. The next time I used it as a primer and didn't notice a drastic change. So, I returned it.

So I used to like this product, but I'm tired of jumping through hoops to make it work. For the first 2 weeks it seems good, but then the sprayer stops working or it leaves white spots all over your face. I've contacted MAC and gotten a new one, but it always does the same thing. I've even bought another bottle to transfer it to, but then I still end up with white spots on my face. It doesn't make your makeup stay on either, I I finally decided to ditch it and try something else. I'm tired of having to dab my makeup all over to blend out the spots! Just don't waste your money on this! I've switched to Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Setting Spray, and that works great. I recommend going with that one instead of this.

I tried these out during their really good sale on it because I've always wondered if it actually would work and it did so I am not repurchasing it at it's normal cost because I feel it is worth it !

I LOVE and LIVE for the MAC fix + spray, but this wasn't it. It left white spots on my face ALL THE TIME. Even after shaking it vigorously. I tried to save it by spraying a different setting spray on top, but still left white spots and patchy areas.

OK y'all what am I doing wrong? I purchased this because of all the reviews and this bottle is the worst! Have any of y'all ever been spit in the face by a llama?! Nope, just me? Well, this bottle distributes the primer just like that scenario, no matter how hard and much I shake it… or how far I hold it from my face. Afterwards I have to thoroughly look at myself in the mirror to make sure I don't have any white crusty spots in my hair and on my chest, implying a lookingly fun filled morning. My face is so drenched with primer that I have to take my makeup sponge and dab it to spread it out. HIGHLY disappointing bottle.

I recommend the product because it's one of the few that last longer and mattify my oily skin and keep makeup looking fresh. But I hate the spray bottle, within two weeks every single one I have bought so far will either get clogged or stop working or break. It's a really cheap bottle MAC needs to invest in a better product. I have to use a spare spray bottle I got from drug store every time. Washing and cleaning the sprayer it comes with has not worked either. Because of this hassle I give 3 stars.

It not only helps give the entire face a matte finish but also make the product stay longer on the skin. Sometimes there would be white dots when not shaken well, and seldomly the spray gets clogged. Over all it's' absolutely worth the purchase and it helps you achieve an more professional look!

One of my absolute favorites. I use this to set my makeup and I can tell the difference when I don't use it. It makes my makeup not only stay longer, but gives my face a glow. I can't see myself putting on makeup without first using this to set it. Love it!

I use this as a prep and prime and it has greatly improved the control on my oily skin.

I have extremely oily skin and this is one of the few setting sprays that actually does what it claims. It controls the oil for most of the day and it really sets my makeup in place. Just gotta make sure you shake it up really good before spraying. Highly recommended!

As someone who struggles with oily skin, finding the right product to keep my makeup in place all day can be a challenge. But ever since I started using FIX+ MATTE, I feel like I've found a secret weapon! It's like having powder in a bottle - so lightweight, but with all the benefits of a traditional powder.
I love how it helps control shine and keeps my makeup looking fresh and flawless all day long. And the best part is that it works for both my full coverage makeup days and my more natural, dewy looks. When I go for a more natural look, I use it as part of my moisturizing routine to keep my skin looking and feeling hydrated throughout the day. It's also great for touch-ups when I need to freshen up my makeup midday.
Overall, I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an easy and effective way to achieve a matte, powder-like finish. It's gentle on the skin and doesn't leave any sticky residue or dryness, making it perfect for those with sensitive or dry skin as well.

It works well. Oily controlled.

I received a sample size spray. I was told by a makeup artist that the best way to use a setting spray is to spray a little on my face and dot on my foundation - then blend it all in together. This technique has worked to keep my shine down longer and use less foundation, for a more natural look.
