I've purchased 3 of the California Sunrise over the past two years. It shouldn't have been necessary to replace them as often, but the plastic case at the back where it opens & closes broke off in every one. Long before the product was gone. I suspect one would last 2 years if it were made better. No, I don't drop it or even travel with it unless it's in my make-up case and well protected. I've never had a pallet case break, and I've used the high end expensive ones as well as the drug store brands. I've tried to replace the last one for the past couple of months, but it's always out of stock in the store. I asked today if it was discontinued, one of the managers checked and said "yes, I'm sorry, it has. It isn't even available online any more." I came home and looked for myself - sure enough it's not only available, but on sale! I've just ordered 2 more (also trying the Tahitian this time) and pray the case lasts longer. At least long enough to use up 1/2 of the product!! If it weren't so perfect, I'd have given up after the first one.Most Helpful Critical ReviewBeautiful but too much glowThe colors of this palette are beautiful, however, the bronzer and blush need much less shimmer, as this intense highlight in the places where blush and bronzer go can make you look bad and oily. I have purchased so many expensive palettes throughout my life looking for the perfect one for my skintone and the glowiness I wanted to achieve. This product is everything and at an amazing price point! I purchased two palettes- the Santorini Sun and the California palette. I use them almost everyday in the summer and get so many complements. They look natural with the perfect amount of glow. I run my brush around all three and apply with a bit extra glow at the highest point of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and the jawline. I take my finger and use the highlighter on my brown bone in place of shadow. I have even put a dab of the highlighter under my eye, right in the center. I have not had any trouble with the cases nor has any of my palettes made a mess of my bathroom as a few other commentors have stated. I am on my second set of palettes and still no problems. The bronzers are almost identical. The blush in Santorini is a little bit lighter. The blush in Santorini is a single color-not marbled like Tahitian. A little extra highlighter solves that problem. At first I thought the blush would be all sparkle and no pigment, but I was proved wrong! The blush shows up nicely on the skin and is neither overpowering or under powering. Normally I prefer my blush and bronzer to be matte but I don't mind it with this palette! The bronzer gives a nice hint of tan, the blush is a really pretty pink, and the highlight is a nice champagne color. Unfortunately for me the whole pan is sparkly/shimmery. On a younger person this would probably just look like a beautiful glow, but on my 52 year old skin it magnified fine lines and just looks a bit much. I prefer a more natural finish.wonderful compact palette!5Rosco from Floridai got the darkest one in st. tropez. the bronzer is wonderful, goes on smooth and blends easy! buildable as well, or you can simply tap it once with your brush to give a soft, bronzy look. the blush is very pretty on my skin tone. however, i find the highlighter gives an overcast so i'll use it as a brow highlight and eyeshadow. it's pretty otherwise, and has a pretty peach/gold shift. better than the Nabla bronzer which i am returning!
