She raved about how well this stuff helped her hair grow back after her cancer treatments. So what the heck, I ordered it. I have lost a good deal of my hair partially due to some medication that I take and I'm sure some of it is just the naturally aging process. I had crazy thick hair all of my life so I was going through a bit of a crisis trying to figure out what to do about my hair loss. This stuff has worked for me! I have 1" hairs sticking up all over my head in only 6 weeks! I now use no other shampoos or conditioners. There is no medicine smell and my hair is beautiful and shiny.Most Helpful Critical ReviewGood system but not seeing resultsI have thick wavy/curly islander hair but I've noticed it thinning the past few years. I've used Nioxin for about 2 months now, the shampoo, conditioner, and the leave in treatment (System 4) and I honestly haven't seen any new growth... or thicker hair. It's made my hair appear healthier (shinier, less dead-ends), but that was not my entire intentions. I wanted my old hairline and fullness back. As a conditioner it actually worked surprisingly well on my hair, but for hair loss I didn't notice anything beyond a slight reduction in the amount of hair I was shedding - whether in the shower or when brushing it. Perhaps 20% less than before. In all I used it for a good few weeks. The only reason I stopped using it was because of the amount of menthol in it, which over time aggravated my scalp more and more until I put it to one side and allowed my scalp some time to return to its normal state, using a Sulphate-free shampoo sparsely, no conditioner at all. I find this to be a common occurrence whenever I use a product with this ingredient. Without the excessive menthol added, I'm sure this could have worked well. First of all, I will say that I don't use the shampoo or conditioner. I have curly hair that is finicky when it comes to a lot of products (IYKYK). I use this foam morning and night applied to my scalp and massaged in for about 10 seconds. I no longer have shed hair all over my bathroom, car, desk, etc etc. and my shower drain is much easier to clean when I get the hair out - it's what I consider a normal amount. My hair dresser recommended this product line to me to try and help with scalp care. I have been using it for about a month now and so far, I love it. My hair does feel thicker from the treatment product included, without feeling stiff/sticky/greasy. Also, I do have very oily hair, but I have noticed that this helps prolong that so I don't have to use dry shampoo as much. The only thing I do not like, is the scent. It smells like peppermint. However, by the time I finish styling my hair, at that point it doesn't smell minty, it just smells clean.
