So as a curly girl, I don't find myself reaching for a shampoo very often. I have low porosity hair so usually I can just soak my hair in hot water and it gets fairly clean. Using a shampoo, even one that's sulfate free, sends my tight, fine coils in a frenzy. I mean knots on knots on knots. Even with a good pre-detangle and a humble prayer beforehand. From the moment I used the climate control shampoo, it just felt different. The only thing I can compare it to would be the old formula of Cream of Nature's detangling shampoo. (I cried when they changed the formula, I'm not ashamed to admit that; so few products work on my hair.) This shampoo felt like it was cradling each strand through the danger that is wash day--whispering words of gentle separation to strands usually hellbent on tangling on themselves.
For the first time in a long time, I can detangle during the washing process, so putting on conditioner is a breeze.
Oh Climate Control Shampoo. Never change
I don't often do reviews, but I feel compelled to here. I left the same review on the travel size.
I am always searching for the best shampoo fir my very curly hair that seems to have gotten thicker and curlier as I get older, Lol...
I just want something that makes it feel clean and full, but controlled, not frizzy. It's a lot to ask, I know...
I tried the travel size of this shampoo and thought this was it. Awesome lather, I hate "No Poo" shampoos... Smells good, actually helps the curl (maybe curl "activating?"), controls the frizz, nice and full. Everything I wanted.
So great, I'll buy the big one! Tried it today. I could already tell it was different in the shower. Didn't lather up nearly as much. Styling was awful, I kept having to add product. Hair is frizzy.
I can give it another chance, but I don't think it's a fluke. I feel like it's bait and switch. They make the travel one awesome, and then you buy the big one, and it's watered down. Do they think we're not going to notice?
I know, 1st world problems, but I'm pi**ed. Not cool, Ouidad. :-(

Whoever is reading this please do NOT buy this! I bought this to get rid of my frizzy hair & all it gave me was severe dandruff & fungus! Its been almost 2-3 months since i used it & till this day I'm suffering the consequences. Do not use any of their products!

I'm an Afro-Latina who has low porosity 3c/4a curls that struggle to retain moisture and my curls are always frizzy. I live in the desert, which doesn't help my porosity, and I have a hard time defining my curls. This product was AWFUL! After washing my hair with the Advanced Climate Control Shampoo, followed by the conditioner in the same line, my hair felt like a Brillo pad. IT WAS HORRIFYING! It felt dry, stringy, and brittle... like I was running my fingers through wire. Knowing that this can happen when trying a new product, I used it for almost 2 months to give it a fair chance.
After using this for 2 months, my hair was the worst I have ever felt it 🥺 Not only was it damaged from this product, but it was breaking off like crazy, and even worse, IT WAS FALLING OUT!!! I don't use drugstore brands on my hair, and tend to spend more than I'd like all in the name of having healthy hair, but what a waste of money on this junk. I have spent the past 6 months trying to baby my hair to fix the damage this product did. My thick curls that I would have to section off in 6 sections to detangle can now by done with a simple part down the middle 😭 I was beyond disappointed in this brand and would not recommend this line.

Love this product for my natural curly hair. I don't the frizz I did with other products and it's so easy to style. It's soft and the frizziness is under control.

This shampoo & conditioner duo created more frizz and breakage than any shampoo I've ever used. I'd rather use a drug store brand than put this on my hair again.

My hair had the same amount of slight frizz after using this, so not much difference from other shampoos. I expected more from a curl-specific shampoo with "defrizzing" in its name. I have wavy 2b/2c hair. I'll be returning this.

My hair was detangled before I used this shampoo. Even halfway through the rinse, I was already finding knots in my hair. The matching conditioner didn't do a great job at working them out and I ended up with some breakage. My hair is extremely fine, though, so it may be okay for normal hair.

It smells like the potpourri at your grandma's house, but it helped a bit with the poofiness. Not really worth the price.

Love the smell and the lather but after using it in Florida-the land of frizz- it did nothing to help my freeze and made my hair feel dry and almost straw like. Definitely not smooth

Tried several products from Ouidad. Love them in combination

I was so excited to try this and was seriously let down. This product made my hair feel dry and coarse and I couldn't even run my fingers through it while wet in the shower. The product smelled really strong of chemicals. I thought maybe the magic would happen when my hair dried but alas, my curls were frizzy and dry. For reference, I have 2c/3a fine curly hair, blonde.

This shampoo made my hair so dry that my curls look terrible. like some of their other products but this shampoo is not good.

I'm white with hair that ranges from 2c to 3a and this product was recommended to me by my hairdresser as she knew someone with slightly denser curls that it worked well for. This product is not for loose curls as after using it with my normal conditioner I have noticed my hair is falling out. It's just a few hairs here and there but this product was definitely too strong for my hair. Hopefully I can help someone else avoid the same mistake.

really doesn't do much in controlling my frizz. Hair looks great when I blow dry, but by time I get to work my hair look like a cotton ball

My hair feels very soft since using this shampoo and conditioner. I work in a 35* cooler and my hair would get frizzy from it. Since using this product my hair no longer frizzes out. So now my hair looks and feels great and smells amazing too!

Love that my hair is not frizzy. Keeps the hair smooth.
Amanda from New Jersey
I was confident it would be a good product for my curly hair after read reviews and watch videos. Travel size kit is a good choice for the first try.
The product is well concentrated but gives the false perception that it is very moisturizing. In the end my hair looked like a steel wool (Brillo sponge), even though I used conditioner and styling cream from the same brand.

Frizz has become less and less as I have used this product. It cannot completely go away but I don't look like I just rolled out of bed once my hair dries anymore.

Love everything about this product! My hair feels great and looks great. I'm addicted.

This shampoo does help keep the frizz level down with my coarse, thick naturally curly hair.
