Featherlight Styling Cream has enough hold to give my curls definition from one washday to the next (usually twice a week) especially if I lightly refresh with water in the morning. My hair is never crunchy with this product. I sometimes have to add a second product if the humidity is extreme or after a strenuous activity. My hair is naturally gray, normal to fine texture, and I live in the Midwest. I started using this cream last summer when I moved to a more humid climate and it works great for my hair. I apply it while in the shower with my hair soaking wet - about a dime sized amount works well for me. Followed up with a light hold mousse, my hair is bouncy, defined, and voluminous. Ive come to learn the best way this works is when your hair is wet and you use a dime to quarter size. I have a mix of 3C & 4A type curls that come down to mid back with "medium" density(not thick but not thinning). If i want lighter curls ill do a dime amount but for tighter curls ill do a quarter amount. Anything more than that and my hair feels heavy and greasy looking. I only use this after washes and after the second day it is pretty much non existent in my hair. I usually air-dry because sometimes I'm too lazy to diffuse because it takes too long. so if you air dry, it does leave my hair a little lip and unvolumized even if I fluff it out. fluffing it just makes it frizzy after. diffusing does the job with this though. I used to use Advanced Climate Control Gel, but it left my hair a little too crisp. One of the staff members at ULTA recommended trying this curl cream instead.
