First off, I was a bit skeptical about the hard water claims for this shampoo. I have horribly hard water. It's so bad that I have to soak my shower head on a bi-weekly basis to clean it out so it works properly. Considering the condition of my hair, I thought it wouldn't hurt to take a chance on the Sunday Shampoo. My hair couldn't get any worse. When it arrived, I used it for 4 days straight to start and after a couple days, I was pleasantly surprised. It made a difference, a big difference. The color wasn't dull anymore (hair color is natural) plus it was a lot more manageable. I'm not kidding when I say that my hair has never looked this good since moving into my current apartment. I just assumed my hair was changing with age. Nope, it apparently was the water. Now that my hair is more manageable, I actually want to put an effort into styling it. I do have a issues with allergies and fragrances, this did not aggravate it one bit.
It has such good reviews, I thought this would have worked for my hair. Unfortunately, it somehow damaged my hair. The only thing that was dry about my hair were my dry split ends. I need a trim and because of Covid-19, I haven't been able to. The rest of my hair is fine with no oiliness or severe dryness. I normally use the Neutrogena Shampoo that cleanses the scalp from buildup but I had run of it. I thought I'd try a new one and I saw BB. Big mistake. After I used it one time, it left my hair stripped and super flat. It also didn't even feel like it cleansed my scalp. With the Neutrogena, you can feel that it cleared all the buildup without stripping your hair. BB didn't feel like it got rid of the scalp buildup, instead it felt like it stripped my hair. My hair lost volume and was so flat and didn't have my natural wave/curl anymore. Ever since I washed with BB, my conditioner cannot penetrate my hair and moisturize it. None of my hair products penetrate my hair to style it. It somehow completely damaged my hair. My hair is super dry now. I don't know how I'm going to repair my hair. I'll have to find a hair mask that can hopefully nourish my hair back to good health. I should have just stayed with Neutrogena and I will definitely go back to that.

I bought the travel size and loved it so much I bought the regular size. I have very dry hair that I have to use products to condition and add volume in order to keep it manageable. Using this shampoo once a week makes my hair feel clean without being stripped or dry.

This shampoo was the worst. It smells like plastic and makes hair look and feels like straw. It is absolutely bad no matter how many times I tried it! Very sad.

The Bumble and Bumble Sunday shampoo is fabulous. My hair is clean and very manageable after use. I use other shampoos throughout the week. A great addition to my hair routine.

Due to local water quality, my hair gets fuzzy and sticky after a handful of washes. This shampoo is unfortunately a little drying but really cleans my hair and lets my brush slide through it again. And it is stronger than a regular clarifying shampoo, those didn't do it for me. I wash with it every couple weeks and use distilled water for the following wash if I want a guaranteed good curl day.

I've used 3 bottles of this shampoo. it does what it is meant to do. I use it once a week or sometimes once every 2 weeks depending how much product is in my hair. yes it makes your hair dry but reminder is a clarifying shampoo. i follow up with innersense color conditioner and my hair feels super clean. love it. only negative is the blue dye is completely unnecessary. this could've easily have been a clear shampoo. dyes are terrible for the body in all ways. when will the beauty industry understand this??
The Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo is a must as an alternative shampoo. It really cleans my hair and scalp.

This was an influencer recommendation and I am SO glad I listened to her. I'm now 3 bottles in and will never use another clarifying shampoo. I have straight, medium-density hair and I use this weekly to cleanse product/oil buildup. My scalp and hair feel clean but not stripped/dry. I always follow this with a good conditioner and it's like pressing the reset button on my hair -- highly recommend!!

Its pricey but worth every penny! My hair and scalp both feel so clean after use. It lathers well & is light which is perfect for my fine, thin hair!

This shampoo saved my hair! I live in an area with horribly hard water and have always had an issue with build up. After using a new conditioner that was totally wrong for my hair, the buildup was at unfathomable levels. My hair was sticky, stringy, snapping when I'd brush it. I could not fix it. I went out on a limb and bought this shampoo, and I'm so glad I did! Not only is my hair soft and healthy again, but the hard water buildup on my scalp that I've been fighting for months is GONE. It did take two washes to completely rid my hair of the sticky feeling, but this will absolutely become a regular part of my routine. If you're dealing with bad buildup, try this!

I've used the BB Sunday shampoo several times. The mini version has lasted a while when used 1x a week. This is great for clarifying oily hair and buildup. I used this at a time when my scalp was drier, and it caused more dryness and irritation. But, the most recent time I used this, I had a lot of oil buildup from previous shampoos not doing enough, and this cleaned the hair well and made it feel much lighter. Didn't have extreme scalp dryness or itching. Works best with a deep conditioning treatment/hair mask, as it does leave the hair dry.

Cleans well, no residue. Hair feels clean and soft not dry. I have fine- but thick hair.

The BB Sunday Shampoo gives a deep cleanse. It leaves the hair shiny and soft after washing. However, as with many clarifying shampoos, it will leave the hair squeaky clean. At most, this stuff should be used 1x a week if you have a lot of oil or product build-up. Would not recommend this shampoo to dry hair types. If you don't have much scalp sensitivity, this is an option to try. For sensitive scalps, recommend trying out the travel size or looking for another clarifying shampoo as this can cause some scalp sensitivity. Keep in mind this shampoo has sulfates and is really meant to cut through buildup. Personally continued to use because already used it a few times, and it does clarify buildup. Honestly would not commit to the full size because it's a bit too harsh on the scalp. The search continues for a clarifying shampoo that cleanses build-up well and doesn't leave any scalp sensitivity.

I just recently moved into a house that has very soft water, and I never had soft water before so I had no idea the effect it would have on my hair! I'd get out the shower and my hair would dry and look greasy automatically! It was like I hadn't showered at all! Got this clarifying shampoo and it has worked wonders! I'm on day 3 and it still isn't as greasy as my fresh washed hair without this shampoo! Incredible. Would def recommend for anyone who has very soft water and is having trouble with greasy and flat hair!

I don't use this too frequently, only when my hair texture changes for the worse/feels weighed down and I know that too much styling product build-up and other stuff has accumulated which needs to be removed. I usually dislike using any product with SLS in it, but I hate to admit this one does just what I need it to: 'stripping' my hair of all the build-up, and taking my hair back to its natural state. Most SLS-free shampoos don't do that for me, bar a small handful, and I normally end up having to add a capful of Apple Cider Vinegar mixed in with each shampoo application, to get them to work better. Will use this up but also continue on the search for a decent clarifying shampoo that's natural and doesn't cause my hair to turn somewhat frizzy, the way this does. Otherwise not too drying (considering the SLS), lathers nicely and has a pleasant floral/minty fragrance. -> My 'Ulta Beauty Top 7 must-have list' (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Ulta) < - < 1. Of all the clarifying shampoos I've tried, this one has really stood the test of time- I've tried a lot of newer ones and they just aren't as good. It gets anything and everything out on the first go. It has sulfates, but it's very gentle on my hair (my hair tends to get dry, but is not colored/processed). I can use it several times a week no problem, but I only use it about once or twice depending on what products are in my hair. Also, try it on your hair and makeup brushes! It gets everything out the first time and you don't have to keep lathering and rinsing. Great stuff.

They quietly changed the formula. It's not a huge change. Noticed my hair isn't as smooth after use and leaves my hair feeling just a tiny amount dry and tangles a bit easier. It is not super noticeable but enough to take a star off because the change wasn't needed. This has been my daily shampoo for several years, well over a decade. I have long straight medium thick hair that is not dyed and I don't use heat often. Most shampoos dry out my hair or make it feel coated. This has been my precious beloved shampoo for so long. I've not even strayed to try anything else and a long time. Disappointed in the change. Why not create a second clarifying shampoo? Instead they create two more products but no matching conditioner. Their other conditioners have strong scents except the Marine seaweed and it's very drying. I'll continue using as the change is minor and I'm still getting somewhat similar results. Oh forgot to mention the fragrance is a wee bit stronger but it's minor. I noticed because I saw a color change and sniffed the new bottle and compared to the original. It's almost undetectable. Not difference when using and nothing different in scent when dry. Why do companies make changes to things that are customer favorites? This has high reviews on all beauty sites. Why make any changes? If anything they should have taken note and added to the line with a conditioner, detangler, leave-in, a mask. Instead they are probably going to start seeing some negative reviews from people who have dry hair already.

This was recommended to me during an in-person Ulta visit. I was looking for something more cleansing and this works very well to clean out my hair and scalp at the end of the week. My only criticisms are that I wish the ingredients were cleaner and that the bottle was made of aluminum and not plastic.

Personally, wasn't crazy about the product. I don't think my hair texture benefits from the formula that was used. I think a 3B up to one. A texture works best. I may try it again later on but not really a fan. I will say my hair did feel very moisturize, though which is important during these dry months.

I was gifted this in return for an honest review. Absolutely love this shampoo. My hair gets greasy quickly and this shampoo left my hair feeling very clean for days. The scent in this shampoo is lovely. I would recommend this to a friend.

Love the packaging!! So simple and cute. Great smell, good lather. Love how this shampoo makes my hair look and feel. Looks super cute on my counter too. 10/10 I'll definitely be rebuying it for sure.

Decent clarifying shampoo. Doesn't dry out my hair or scalp as much as other ones I've tried, but definitely don't want to use this more than once a week (per instructions). Works well at removing day-to-day product accumulation for me (hair spray, oil). I haven't tested this out with heavier things (wax, etc) so not sure how it'll hold up with those.

This shampoo is a cult classic for a reason. I love using it on the weekend as a little reset for my normal hair. It smells good, washes clean and leaves my hair feeling revitalized. It doesn't feel dry or stripping the way other clarifying shampoos can. Highly recommend!!

This shampoo was life changing! It made my hair so clean and not dry at all. Also it smells amazing and I want to try their conditioner as well. It would be great for gifting too since it goes with basically all the hair types

This conditioner pairs perfectly with the shampoo and it's a fantastic option if you have thinner hair like me that easily gets weighed down my heavier products. This keeps my hair hydrated without sacrificing volume.

I was gifted this Bumble and bumble weekly detoxifying shampoo. I tend to get really oily hair after day 2 of washing but after using this shampoo I can actually go longer since it removes excess oil buildup. I've also noticed my hair has a nice curl to it when it air dryers and I love that since it reduces the time I have to style my hair. Overall really pleased with this product.
