Here's my assessment: If I wear my hair wavy (scrunch out of the shower with the usual styling cream and setting spray and allow to dry naturally), the primer actually works SO well that it gets rid of a lot of my volume, so I don't use it anymore for wavy days. However, on day two of my messy/wavy bed-head look, the oil is great for killing frizz & making my unbrushed hair look sexy vs looking like a disaster. I don't wash my hair every day, so a fresh look for day two is frequently a challenge. On blow dry and style days, the primer & oil combo are excellent - My hair blow drys quickly and is silky smooth. It actually seems to hold a curl better too - even through the night and into the next day (with no other styling products). I am able to brush out my 1 1/2" curls from the day before, apply 1 pump of invisible oil to kill bed head frizz, and my style is fresh again. Thought it might provide something unique, setting it apart from everything else out there ("styling sprays," leave-ins, blow-dry preps, etc.). Can't say that it really stood out from some other things I have tried. Seems to detangle well, and I happen to love the fragrance. Did not seem to provide any particular heat protection. In replacing my straightener, I decided to switch to a brush style, as my hair has gotten fine and a bit thinner as I've aged. The mfg. recommended not using styling products, but I found the brush alone made my hair a bit flyaway. I hadn't been 100% pleased with this product with my old straightener, but with the brush style - the results are life changing. I swear to you all that my hair has never looked or felt as nice. My hair is now silky, shiny and soft with only a few passes of the straightening brush. My locks stay smooth and straight all day - even in rainy Seattle! The product is lightweight and doesn't make my hair greasy or 'product heavy' looking. Straightening my hair used to take me forever with my old straightener so I didn't do it very often. With the brush it only takes a few minutes. As I am now straightening more often, a heat protectant is a must and this product DELIVERS. I spray the product directly onto my hair and comb it through immediately after a wash. I've had this leave in for about 3 years because I couldn't figure out the best way to use it for my hair. Hence the 3 star review. I've gone through several hair styles over the last 3-4 years (natural 4A, keratin blow out, and now relaxed). When I was natural, it didn't impress me enough to want to continue using it. I didnt think it aided in detangling nor softening my hair. When I had a keratin blow out, it left my hair sticky and waxy whenever I used a blow dryer. Now that I'm relaxed with a simplified routine, I find that it works well as a detangling leave in conditoner. It also feels weightless and gives me a natural shine. I always let my hair airdry and therefore I don't experience the waxy/stickiness anymore. What I love most is that I can spray this on dried hair as a moisturizer inbetween wash days.
