It's great for a natural look for everyday or smokey eye for going out. The peach shade is beautiful for spring and summer. Each shade does have a little shimmer but on your eye it looks more like a glow then shimmer.Most Helpful Critical ReviewIt's okayI love everything I've tried from Pacifica, and thought I'd try one of their eyeshadow palettes. My first issue when receiving this palette is the packaging. The shade names are listed on the outer box and nowhere else. Shades aren't labelled and the palette itself doesn't have the shades listed. I emailed the company and this is what the shades are: Tomboy - silvery champagne shimmer Starman - charcoal matte Heroes - navy blue matte Rebel - terra cotta matte Pretty Vacant - orange shimmer Schooled - mahogany/brown shimmer 1970 - pale lime green satin Casbah - cobalt matte Blondie - pale baby pink matte Raw Power - lavender satin I love the shade names, which nod to some of my favorite 70's punk and glam rock. The packaging is fun and psychedelic, but some people may find it overstimulating. I just wish that the shades were labelled clearly. Now, the shades. Most of them are very pigmented, blend well and swatch beautifully. The shimmers are all gorgeous and some of the mattes apply very well, too. My favorites are Rebel and Heroes; Heroes is an incredibly flattering deep shade of blue that makes me excited about blue eyeshadow again. I also love 1970 as a lid color, but this is where things start to get rocky. 1970 is fun and effortlessly boho, but the color payoff isn't the greatest and you have to really build (I highly recommend using a primer with this palette, by the way). It also needs touch-up later on, whereas other colors stay well. Starman and Casbah are chalky and patchy, but I don't use black and gray shadows so it's not much of a loss. Raw Power, the purple shade, is a real letdown though. I know purple eyeshadow is extremely difficult to make, especially when you're limited to a vegan formula. So, I knew this going into the purchase. The color payoff is next to none and it's not even buildable. So, this was the most disappointing for me. Though the title isn't accurate as the palette is more on the brown side of palettes then pink, but the palette works. However, I feel that the palette didn't need both "nude" and "nuder" colors just the color "nude" would have been sufficient along the "lightning" color. Lots of fall out in the palette and from your brush. A butt load! so why would I recommend it? It provides a wash of color- which is all teens should be going for if they are wearing eyeshadow at all. It can disguise thin, veiny skin for middle aged ladies like me who also have very sensitive eyes. There is no shimmer so that reduces the likelihood that a shimmery particle will land in your eye and scratch your cornea. Yes this is a real thing and my coworker had to have 2 eye surgeries because of this. I don't know if it was glitter or shimmer fall out but she told me it was due to eyeshadow particle scratching her cornea. Gnarly! The case is cheap but what do u want so is the price. The plastic cover comes off easily but you can use a hot glue gun to secure that baby for life. Just 4 dots of hot glue. Personally, I wish that Pacifica would put out a better line of eyeshadow palettes. They have excellent colors and are an amazing brand in terms of ethics and functionality. I would pay more for a higher quality eyeshadow (more pigmented, no fall out, better packaging) that keeps the garbage ingredients (talc) away from my eyes. There are other "eco" brands that do it so that's where I will purchase my next pallet from.
