I noticed a few negative reviews here and I'm someone who reads reviews very carefully before buying things so when I saw the negative ones, I just had to add some balance. This is my absolute favorite foundation of all time. I went for 27 years (okay, yeah, the first 13 were not spent wearing makeup, but still!) being really indifferent about foundation. I was willing to try anything, not committed to any brand, finish, type, or anything. I didn't even have an idea of what I wanted from a foundation because I just thought powders mattify so it must be all about the powder. I was recommend this AND the powder foundation version of this. I got both. The one-step powder is good for lazy days and looks great, but this stuff makes me look fantastic. I get compliments on my complexion (which is actually kinda rough) and I look very even, smooth, and matte. This has EXCELLENT coverage. The best coverage of any foundation I've used without being too thick and cakey. My skin is oily, fair, with some discoloration, scars, blemishes, and large pores on my cheeks. This foundation does an excellent job making my face look nearly flawless. It's not especially great OR poor at minimizing pores--so far I've had to use a pore perfector with every foundation I've tried, but I don't find that taxing. This doesn't, in my experience, especially highlight or exacerbate any flaws. For most, it covers them and makes skin very uniform. The coverage, again, is perfect! I'm officially committed to this foundation.
I would definitely say I have a love/hate relationship with this foundation. I purchased it at the Mac store which I prefer doing because they will test it out and match your color versus just taking a guess and spending the money on something that may not be the right match (can't tell you how many times I have done that especially with drugstore products). We had a hard time matching me with the right shade because typically I am an NC20 however this particular foundation has a fairly strong yellow undertone and it looked ok at first but the more I looked at it in the mirror the more I was like holy cow my face is really yellow. So, I ended up purchase the C3.5 which I was lucky enough to have a shade that was close enough because they only have I believe 4 different shades in the "C" range which have less of a yellow tone to them. However, with that being said it is still not the perfect shade it is slightly too dark with a little bit of orange that I have to make sure i am very careful in making sure everything is blended. It does have very decent coverage, I would say it is a medium to full coverage foundation and it does wear fairly well throughout the day. I do not keep this foundation on all day because I do have very oily skin so by the end of the day my face just feels very heavy and cakey and well..just gross. I would definitely recommend this if you are someone who is looking for a very natural looking finish.

I hadn't changed foundation or bb cream in a very long time but this winter in Florida, I've lost exactly all my tan. So
I went into Ulta to find something that looked more seasonally appropriate lol. I like MAC but hadn't thought much about it lately but asked the girl in the mac area as I saw the display and how many shades they have. She helped me
Pick the correct one, C4, and I adore it. Never vet going back to my former BB cream. I apply it with a brush. Coverage is buildable and a little goes a long way. I get tons of compliments on my skin but no one asks what I'm wearing. It looks that natural. I'm on my second bottle now!

I've tried so many different brands from high end to drugstore foundations and thi s foundation hits all my needs. Does not make me breakout (and I have sensitive, oily, acne prone skin) buildable coverage, is not thick or cakey has a natural finish, doesn't make me too oily and lasts almost all day with little powder touch ups needed. thank you MAC!! nailed the formula!

I liked the feel but doesn't give me the full coverage that I need . I have to return it

This is my all time favorite foundation. I've tried so many different foundations and seriously none of them compare to this. This foundation has never caked on me or settled in fine lines. I use with the ELF hydrogrip primer and wow *chefs kiss*. Since this is a water based foundation it needs to be paired with a waterproof primer, otherwise yes it will crack and separate. My skin never looks dry, and it also never looks too oily.

Absolutely amazing. Totally matched. Great coverage. Long wear.

I love the dewy finish, medium to full coverage. Perfect foundation for my dry, mature skin. Best to go in to the store to get color matched.

i have fair skin with red undertones and this foundation just makes me look orange and gets cakey on my skin

coverage is lighter than expected. product clings to pores and looks patchy. also it is very difficult to get the product out since there is no way to squeeze or pump. returned after one use.

I have super sensitive, oily, acne prone, mature skin. I was sceptical when the Ulta salesperson recommended this foundation to me. I had been having a rocky love/hate dysfunctional relationship with Estee Lauder Double Wear (loved the look, color match, nontransfer, hated that it gave me a new zit everytime I wore it).
So, I skeptically bought this Mac Studio Fix SPF 15, and every day I keep being surprised at how much I like it. My sensitive skin has absolutely no problems with it. It doesn't break me out. It goes on nicely and stays. I even use it around my eyes as a base and concealer with zero issues. Yay Mac! Don't ever change or stop making this foundation. It's a winner.

I use MAC products & have for years. The ULTA staff is welcoming & knowledgeable on any product I'm looking for. Love shopping there!!!

wore this decades ago when mac was one of the only cosmetic companies known for inclusivity. i revisited studio fix fluid during ulta's black friday sale and it still slaps amongst the vast crowd of foundations on the market. it wears comfortably and makes my skin appear flawless while allowing it to breathe and without giving over done vibes. it's a versatile formula that works as a concealer because the coverage is so full, as well as a skin tint by adding a few drops to moisturizer. the versatility and quality make it almost worth the price tag but imo for said price a pump should be included, not an additional $10 sold separately. it's difficult to get the desired amount of product out of the bottle without a cosmetic spatula and palette, so it's more of an artistry packaging without the average consumer in mind.

Great coverage! I have oily skin and this product lasts forever

This is a very light makeup that does not look like I have makeup on my face. Talk about natural but way better. The stylist that recommended the shade was wonderful to work with me and I felt beautiful and yet natural looking. Great experience and product.

I used to love this product, but haven't wanted to spend the money on it. So glad I found it on sale.

This foundation actually matches my skin tone! I've been looking for a good foundation for a while and I found it. A lot of people have told me that it oxidizes and that it looks orange, but it works perfectly, I love it.

This looks great when you put it on but after only a few hours it was separating. I had used a moisturizer and a primer. Looked terrible. It also smells really bad. No pump with bottle
Jessica from Northern, NV
Love this product and the way it goes on my skin. Coverage lasts all day. My only complaint is the bottle is not a pump.
Kierra from West virginia
a little too pricey for it not to come with a pump. very messy because i have to dip my makeup brushes in it and dab it on me to get product to come out.
Stina from Lodi, CA
It blended well but once my makeup was all set and out the house I realized it oxidized and became too dark for me but the formula was good and didn't enhance my dry spots due to the dewy formula but did feel a little heavy.

I love this foundation I have that I can built it up or leave it as natural as possible. It does a full cover on me so it's definitely my go to.

Absolutely love this foundation, the coverage and shade match is perfect but for the life of me I CANNOT get past the smell. It's so overpowering :/

First, I have very fair, textured, pigmented, acne-prone, INSANELY OILY skin. Recently my skin did one of those things where my usual foundations just.... stopped working for me? I don't know why that happens, but it sucks when your typical products suddenly look horrible and you have to rush to find something else. I've tried foundations from pretty much every prestige brand and usually would wear DW or NARS. While on my hunt, I tried several other brands and they all looked horrible. I was starting to get worried until I tried this one. I have never worn MAC until now and I'm really glad I tried it. I got NC10 which is still slightly too dark for me, but it's not enough to make me return this. This goes on so smooth, has a beautiful satin finish, covers my pigmentation well, only slightly settles into my fine lines, does not separate (thank GOD), does not look cakey, feel heavy, sticky, gross, etc. My first test of this product was a busy day of chores, going to the gym/sweating, then going out with family in the evening for several hours. My makeup still looked flawless after an entire day of wear and that is something that never happens for me. My face is like an oil slick and most foundation slides off after a couple hours. So far, this foundation is reaching holy grail status for me. The finish gets even better throughout the day as it mixes with my natural oil and looks radiant. I'm just obsessed honestly. Obviously, foundation is hit or miss most of the time and what works for one person won't work for another, but I'm so so so grateful I found this product and I definitely think it's worth a try.
