I came on the site today to reorder a lipstick that had run low, and decided to check my "Favorites" list to see if there was anything there that I needed. And lo and behold an old friend reappeared - Stone lip pencil. I thought I must be seeing things. But no, it's there. And it's not marked as a limited edition. Since it was discontinued several years ago, I've searched high and low for a replacement. But nothing was ever quite right. For the last year I had to use an EYE LINER to try and copy the color. Yes, an eye liner. I became desperate. This was the perfect color for me to line my lips. It magically seemed to make my lips seem fuller (probably since it seems to almost mimics a very light shadow - thus giving the allusion of fuller lips). It also tones down brighter shades and turns pinks and nudes into colors that seem natural, healthy and beautiful. Some people may be turned off because it is described as grey muted taupe. But it is a truly natural looking color. Just not as yellow or orange as most "natural" or "beige" liners tend to be. I ordered the maximum number that I was allowed with the largest smile on my face. PLEASE, PLEASE NEVER DISCONTINUE THIS AGAIN.
I've been buying the MAC lip pencil in Stripdown for over ten years. It's the only product I use to line and fill in my lips. The color closely matches my natural lip color and every pencil I've purchased through the years has never varied in color or consistency, its always been exactly the same. I just received an order of two Stripdown lip pencils and something has definitely changed. The color is different. It's more of a matte light brown and the consistency is awful. It's soft not firm. It's more like a lipstick consistency. I can't use it to line my lips because it smudges, is messy and the tip breaks off with very minimal pressure. Both lip pencils I received are this same new product. Did I just get a bad batch or has my favorite color lip pencil really changed? I'm so disappointed. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I think this would work on paler lips than mine or to fill the lips in, but not to outline on fair skin.

The application was smooth and the pencil went on easily. I just didnt think the wuality was on par with the price. There are definitely much better options out there all things considered.

I have light skin with neutral undertones and this is the most perfect liner. Looks perfect on it's own and it wears nicely under EVERY lipstick. BUY NOW! Puts every other liner to shame.

I have started using these lip pencils after it was revealed that Nightmoth was used in Jenna Ortega's Wednesday. I bought it and used exactly as how the show's makeup artist would use it on Jenna's lips. I line around my lips, then with my finger I smudge the color across all my lips (Sometimes I line lightly or darker depending how dark I want the color for the day). Afterwards, i appy my sunscreen lip gloss and on stays on the whole day it doesn't smudge! It's not so much eating-proof. I would say half and half, but if you were to eat a greasy meal it will obviously wear off. Definitely straw-proof as you're sipping coffee a Starbucks so thats a plus!! I recently bought the color chestnut and I LOVE IT!!! ;)

Can be used with many different lip combos

I used Dervish when I want to tone down my red glosses and lipsticks. Very neutral color.
Soar is the best color! Gives enough pigment for a neutral look with enough color.

It is useful for overlips.

This is one of the best lip colors to exist.

I love the color stripped down, but I would not buy it again. I found this lip pencil to be dry and it is difficult to put on. I recommend having your lips moisturized prior to applying it. Everyone raves about Mac lip pencils and I wasn't impressed.

The MAC lip pencils are the only ones I can stand by after trying other counterparts. I love how creamy and pigmented these lip pencils are. You cannot go wrong with them.

I love this lip liner so pretty and stays put! The only lip liner that performs to perfection and definitely my go to for just a touch of color or for full lip. This color also matches most nuetral lip sticks and glosses so very versatile.

Everyone needs a MAC lip liner. Stripdown for everyday, Nightmoth for goth days!
