Along with the base coat and dip from Red Carpet, I can get the product to set and say on my nail for about a week. If I wash a lot of dishes or use a lot of water for chores, it does not stay that long (a couple of days) and will lift and start chipping off. It takes practice to deliver the desired results so it lasts a week, but once finished it looks close to a naked nail in color and shape. I use it along wih the activator and a neutral colored dip (Contract Please). If there is powder between the cuticle and nail, as soon as you apply the activator it's going to clump.
