I was impressed. Normally I buy cheaper eyeliner because I'm constantly filling in areas or resharpening, but this glides on easily and fills in well without having to go back and fill in bare spots. I saw others have issues sharpening this pencil, but I didn't, although I think that has more to do with the sharpener than the eyeliner. I've been using the Loreal dual sharpener for years because I've found that keeps my eyeliner sharpest without breaking the tip.Most Helpful Critical ReviewMeh.I really really wanted to like this- I am on the hunt for a liner that lasts on the waterline. I think this transfers a lot throughout the day and I also have had a lot of trouble sharpening it. It comes with a really great tip- you can get a pretty precise line. However, after sharpening it for the first time, I lost that and it just turned into more of a "kohl" effect rather than a "gel" precise look. I live in Florida and the humidity is out of this world. I strictly use it on my waterline, but have tried it on my lid once and it was so smooth. Some of the eyeliner does fade after a few hours only waterline, but it is still bolder, smoother and longer lasting than anything else I've tried (even UD Waterline pencil). A previous review suggested using the Ulta brand pencil sharpener, so I bought one. I haven't had a single issue with sharpening. It does not smudge, no matter what. I have been using these pencils the past several years now, however, I have noticed in the last year or so, something changed in the quality of the ink/pencil itself. This pencil is IMPOSSIBLE to sharpen anymore! Too soft and will not sharpen to a point. I have tried all the sharpeners on the market, from the UD Grindhouse to Laura Mercier! It just won't happen! I have even tried to refrigerate the pencil before sharpening but to no avail! Smashbox, pls help! Any suggestions or tips?
