First let me say that I am cautiously optimistic about this product. I have tried just about every OTC acne treatment since 1995, and my unwanted gold standard was benzoyl peroxide. I hated it - it's so drying and it ruined way too many clothes and sheets over the years - but it was the only thing that worked. Since going into quarantine, however, I've been on a natural kick. I figured I could try whatever while we're all locked up and wearing masks, and it wouldn't really matter. I purchased this product with high hopes, and after a week of using it, I am pretty pleased. Application was tricky at first, but I realized it's a lot easier if you apply it drop by drop directly to your face. Three drops is enough to cover my entire face, and I do that twice a day after cleansing. The serum is a bit drying, and I can see it being very drying in the winter, so you will want a good moisturizer no matter how oily your skin is (mine is VERY oily). Overall, I think my skin does look better, and this product does seem to work at least as well as my benzoyl peroxide treatment without the unwanted chemicals and bleaching. I did have a hormonal breakout when I first started using it, but it went away and I haven't really had any issues since - and it's about the time that a new product would start failing me. My skin is still pretty oily, but it's been in the 80s and 90s with high humidity lately, and without AC at home, I'm really not surprised or bothered. This product *IS* a little bit pricey, but it kills two birds with one stone: I had been alternating benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid anyway, and this one product eliminates the need for the two I was using. I will definitely finish the bottle, and I really hope it continues to work well for me. The only reason I gave this product four stars instead of five is because I just started using it and the jury is still out. But after struggling with acne for 25 years, I would love to have finally found a good, clean, natural solution!
This is a nice, neutral scented scrub that I occasionally se in the shower or bath. But I was expecting it to be a bit more coarse. The grains are large enough, but it seems they are spread too thinly within the jelly-oily mixture, so once you slather it on, you can hardly feel any of the sugar grains. I use it at the end of my shower, and it leave your skin soft and smooth from the residue, but not from actual exfoliation of your skin.

I love the body shop so much which is why im sooo dissappointed in this product. Its like rubbing thick lotion with 5% scrub on your body, and it leaves a thick waxy residue on your skin. I scrub before shaving so this is a huge problem. Ill try the other two scrubs from tbs bc i am brand loyal.. but will absolutely not be buying this formula again

If i could give this no stars i would. It is impossible to eadh off. It's waxy and sticks to your skin, then gets all over the towel when you dry off. Threw it out after trying it twice.

I have bought this exclusively for more than 15 years. I will not buy again. You have changed the formula. It's gross. It's like washing with Shortening with sugar in it. The smell is not what it used to be. I am truly heart broken, I loved this product. I'm done with it until you change it back.

This smelled really nice and looked beautiful in the jar but it DOES NOT rinse off in the shower. It leaves a waxy/oily residue that is extremely difficult to wash off. Didn't feel very nice in-use either because it felt waxy even while using it.

I have been the body shop customer for years and this new product is working well after washing and before putting on moisturizer.

I had extremely high hopes for this scrub as it smells delicious and, in theory, is a great idea since scrubs can leave your skin feeling dry and tight. However, when I say this is one of the nastiest, if not nastiest product, I've ever had the misfortune to use, it is not an exaggeration. First it goes on either dry or damp skin for whatever reason? So the actual application is a little painful. I don't even have sensitive skin yet it still hurt when scrubbing it. But that's not the worst of it! This is the stickiest and long lasting moisturizer I've ever used. You might think, "hey! Isn't that what my extremely dry skin needs?" NO. It's as if you rolled around in a tub of WAX. It sticks to your clothes, your furniture, ANYTHING. And it does NOT. COME. OFF. No matter how many times I rewashed my poor body from this wretched formula, it did NOT COME OFF. I recommend this for maybe waxing your car because that's how WAXY it is. 2 days, 2 workouts, and 4 showers later, it FINALLY came off. The wax museum called, they need their wax supply back! but this smelled amazing tho :P

The Shea sugar scrub used to be my favorite mass market exfoliator hands down. I'm not sure when they changed the formula as I hadn't bought it in some months but this new formula is terrible. I believe the goal was to create a more intense formula for drier skin (which I have), but this is extremely waxy, to the point that when I tried to rinse it off, water droplets formed and the water would not run off my skin normally. I ended up having to use my gel and loofah to wash it off. I tried twice just to be sure but the same result. I actually thought it may have been expired - that's how bad it was. After I was dry it still flaked up the waxy residue. I'm very disappointed because I loved this product immensely, but unfortunately, I will not be able to use this again until they change back to the original formula. Will be very happy to start using again at that point.

To use a famous album name this stuff is slippery when wet. Great moisture in this scrub. I did my feet in the bath & glad I didn't try while standing is like during a shower. leaves a nice barrier on the skin. Was fine for me to scrub & soak my toes tho. Won't be using on feet unless I am holding on. Shea line is fab!

A dime size of this illustrious polish reminds me of widely acclaimed spas and hotels!! I fell in LOVE with how much moisture and softness this delivers! I include the Shea Body Butter! Thanks for NOT using cheap "Glitter-Candy-BdayCake" formulas!

I've used the Shea Exfoliating Sugar Scrub for at least 20 years now. My recent purchase was very disappointing. There is less sugar and it leaves a waxy/greasy residue on my body that took 3 washings with a body scurb sponge to get off.

I was expecting a body scrub when I purchased it, and was incredibly disappointed. In comparison to the other Body Shop body scrubs, this is not exfoliating at all. The texture is also very off putting - It's basically like slathering your body in wax. It doesn't come off in the shower, but it does leave a horrible white residue on your towels while somehow still staying incredibly waxy and sticky on your skin.

Love the stuff, the only product that seemed to help with clearing my acne.

I got this in my advent calendar this year and I love the Shea line so I was excited. I also have the rose scrub and love it. Unfortunately, I don't like this shea body scrub at all. It's like putting Aquaphor on your body while you're in the shower. When I put it on and just rinse, the water runs off like I have covered my body in wax. My skin then feels like it's wet/sticky from a hot and humid day and clings to my clothing. I thought maybe it would be better in warmer weather since my clothing wouldn't be rubbing against my skin as much, but I just tried it and it's still awful. In order to get rid of this feeling, I must completely wash the scrub off with soap. This kind of defeats the purpose of the scrub. I will not get this again and do not recommend.

I bought this item to add to my morning skin routine and it has been wonderful to my skin. I use it with the Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser and the Squeaky Clean Exfoliating Scrub. My blemishes, redness, and overall complexion have greatly improved and remained clear. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Even over age 60, I will get the occasional breakout, white or black heads. I have been using this Tea Tree Oil in particular on a daily basis for years. Doesn't take much and it really has made a significant positive difference in the clarity of my skin. I am very happy.

I love the scent of the shea line and decided to try the scrub. I should have listened to the other recent negative reviews re: the consistency of this product. It's WAXY, like lip balm consistency. I love the scent, but not the feel, and I don't think it has enough exfoliator beads. And considering the waxy buildup it leaves on my skin and my shower floor, I can't imagine what it'll do to my drain and pipes if I continue to use it. I won't buy again unless Body Shop discontinues this formulation and brings back the old one.

Just love this anti-perfection daily solution. The best product I could find to use after face waxing. My husband has very sensitive skin. Even he is liking this a lot.
