I prefer to use this particular sponge wet to apply foundation.. it doesn't soak up quite a bit but most blenders do... I would definitely recommend! Great option if your just trying a blender for the first time.. I don't recommend it for baking though I prefer a more dense sponge for that!Most Helpful Critical ReviewNot the right sponge for meI was looking for a new sponge and was near Ulta so I decided to check out their collection. I don't have a sponge that I particularly buy over and over again so I wanted to try something different. I found this sponge and decided to try it because it was cheap, was the shape I like, and was the size I like. Other options included the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge (which hasn't worked well for me in the past) and sponge sets. At first it looked small but after soaking it in some water it expanded quickly. The sponge is soft and squishy making it easy to use on different surfaces on my face. At the same time, it was too soft (compared to other sponges I've tried) making it difficult to control the amount of product on my face. As well, it seemed to absorb a lot of my foundation. When cleaning I had a tough time removing the foundation (partly because the sponge is bright orange). I have had better luck cleaning other sponges of bright colors. Density is slightly stiff and smooth - perfect for blending. Shape is comfortable in hand and easy to use both the round and pointed/cone shaped ends. Blends well, no streaking or clumping - applies/blends smoothly, and does not absorb more than it applies if that makes sense.
