Ok, so I always get chipped nails. Like ALWAYS. Apparently I have really oily nails. Go figure!
Even my gel nails get chipped if the salons do not follow certain steps to really remove any excess oil from my nails (though I must admit that Essie Gels never got chipped - but not all salons can afford to have Essies).
So when I first heard about the gel like products from Essie I was way to skeptical. As if there could be a product lasting more than a couple of days on my nails.
And then I got this one on a wimp.
Oh well. Never thought in a million years this would happen! hoho!
I have this on for more than two weeks and I have yet to see a chipping or a significant wear!!
The only wear that I had at around 10 days was at the very tips of my nails that get hit from my everyday regime, which unless you are very picky you tend to ignore it. Something that I fixed with a new coat and everything was as new again (cause I am really picky!)
So this is me with 3 coats of Caviar bar, wearing it for more than 2 weeks ;)
Note this however:
I never ever use top coats cause I would get a chipping at day 1. So my recommendation is to get these gel couture products and let them dry naturally (they really dry super fast plus this new brush they have will make you a pro!). You wont get the super shinny effect that a top coat will give you the days to follow, but they will last really really long. And if the colour dulls after a few days, which it does not, just re-apply another coat of the original colour.
Pretty color, great brush, but it didn't last anywhere near 14 days. Also it's shrunk so much anyway from the cuticle and the tips I couldn't wear it much longer even if it didn't chip. I did wash some dishes so I didn't expect it to last 14 days but expected more than 4.

I love the color! It stayed on my toenails for 2 weeks and fingernails for a week with only one chip on one fingernail.

This is the only polish that stays on for at least 5 days. I use the Essie Gel Top Coat too. I have used tons of polish and the Essie Gel is the best

I purchased the electric red color and top coat. After reading and hearing a ton of positive reviews, I had high hopes. The first time I used them, I followed the directions on the Essie website where it said no base coat needed, and only one coat will suffice if you dont want to do two coats. After the first day, the tips chipped or wore out to where you can see the white nail, on all 10 nails, but the overall nail lasted 6 days. When I reapplied, I used a base coat (seche vite), and applied two coats of color. This 2nd manicure lasted about 8 days before chipping occured which is great for a red color.
I loved the color, but I do not feel it was any shinier or "gel-like" than regular polish. My seche vite quick dry top coat gives just as much shine. I will give a lighter color a shot to see if it lasts longer than the red, but in my opinion, you
would be just as sayisfied with regular polish and the seche top coat.

I could never wear a darker shade due to chipping and poor nail polish results. I tried this gel polish in late September as part of Essie's new product trial. The shade was very light, very little chipping with no fading. The thicker brush allows the polish to coat the nail smoothly. The top coat polish is glossy and protects the color. I bought a darker shade and ready for another dark color. It does take longer to remove but worth it.

So good! I'm going to be switching to these colors and no more UV gels and lamps. The color is so much more shiny and the Polish goes on nice, thin and clean looking. Can't wait to buy more!

So happy with Essie gel couture polishes. Much longer wear than their regular polish but easier removal than true gel. Color selection seems to be growing too. Must use with gel couture top coat which goes on nicely as well. I'll be sticking with these moving forward.

It's not the color I wad looking for but it was the only thing that was kinda close to it. I was looking for the color Playing Koi Essie but Ulta didn't have it. It could be discontinued I don't know 🤷🏾♀️. But I didn't like this color against my brown skin.

I like it.but it doesn't seem to last any longer than any other Essie polish.

This one cannot be easily dried and it's annoying to apply

If you have trouble getting regular nail polish to stay on but don't want the hassle and expense of a gel manicure, then you need this nail polish! With regular polish, I'd be lucky if it lasted five days without chipping. This stuff easily lasts me a week and a half with minimal signs of wear. I use Essie's Here to Stay base coat and top it off with the Gel Couture top coat, and it looks flawless. While the range of colors isn't as extensive as Essie's regular line, there are enough options for what I need. I have three colors so far and will be purchasing many more.

I recently went on a week and a half long trip and I always paint my nails the night before and pack my polish for any touchups. I used the essie gel polish and I did not have to touch up a single thing the entire time I was gone! I was amazed. I use Orly bonder and Orly sec n dry top coat with it.
I have rather thin nails and my typical method for painting my nails is:
-2 coats color
-1 coat color
But even with this I still get chips within a week of painting my nails using other polish. But with the essie gel polish I had ZERO chips. I barely got maybe one small chip after the 2 week mark but by then I needed a refresh anyways. I was honestly stunned. I went out and bought 2 more colors! Lol. For reference the color I used was 'Behind The Glass.' Such a pretty shade of blue!

I like this polish, lasts long and saves alot of money and you don't put your skin at risk since you don't nee UV light. I wish there was a black shade, most of the colors are neutral and similar to each other.

Fairy Tailor is the perfect sheer polish for my cool olive skin. It's sheer but slightly milky, so it hides all the little imperfections in my nails in just two coats and makes them shine. This shade makes my nails look polished, clean, flawless, like I've just had a French manicure—or like I don't actually need one. It looks best on longer nails, where I can see my natural nail tips through it (I never use it when my nails are short). The wide brush is very forgiving, and two swipes will cover most of my nails. I do coat the top edge of my nails to stop any chipping, and I also use the "dot of polish" application method for a flawless finish. With this, my nails stay perfect for at least a week: I change my polish weekly, but I'm sure it would last another week if I left it. This is the perfect shade for work, weddings, dates, anything really. It's my go-to shade, and I already need to buy a second bottle!

Chips very easily, even faster than a regular nail polish.

Paints on well, great color, lasted a week before chipping…

I both it in the shade 371 Model Clicks and the color is gorgeous. Exactly what I wanted for autumn. however, it dries out very slowly and doesn't last. It chips in a day or two and I tried waiting at least 20 minutes in between layers, I have added a topcoat, I've used a quick dry spray. Same result. I am disappointed as it was supposed to last and it doesn't.

I've slowly starting replacing every polish in my collection with the Essie Gel Couture polishes. This color was so good, and stayed for FOURTEEN DAYS without chipping. That literally never happens. Obsessed, and I want every color.

This nail polish claims it is like gel, which I think it could be if it dried properly.
This nail polish does not set right. I waited many time intervals hoping it would dry with different nails and it simply did not, it turned to goo and I could make impressions with my finger. I waited approximately 30 minutes hoping it would dry on one nail and it wouldn't and that's with the first coat.
Second coat? Forget it, it was even worse.
I then added the top coat really hoping that it would somehow save it but it unfortunately made it look even worse and i ultimately had to remove it all.
The photo I have provided was shortly after the second coat where I thought it may dry down and look okay but it still looked streaky after the first coat. The formula itself is not consistent and is very watery/thin but yet doesn't paint/spread very well. It's just overall very strange.
I am honestly just really disappointed with it.
I gave it two stars out of generosity because I know if it had the capability to dry down it would be pretty.

It's been a while since I've done anything with my nails, mainly because it takes too long and I always end up messing them up right after. I was basically expecting the same with this polish but NO WAY!! It dried so stinking fast... and when I say dry, I mean dry. Not tacky, not you think it's dry then it smears on your clothes. DRY! I am truly in disbelief. It came out a little more watery than other nail polish I've used. Maybe that helps with the drying. But I honestly didn't even need more than one coat. I applied 2 just to see the difference. I could absolutely do one if in a hurry. The bottles are really nice and the curves make it easier to hold. I really like how flat the brush is as well. It makes it very easy to apply and gives great coverage. The color is beautiful!! It's got a really pretty but subtle shimmer to it and is brighter than it looks in the bottle! I'm so happy to be able to paint my nails again!!! Y'all run out and get yourself all the colors!!!

This nail polish is amazing! It lasts so long and is a beautiful color. It is tough and goes on so smooth. I cannot recommend this more. Essie is such a great brand!

LOVE this color. It's very hard to find this color. I had a pedicure recently and fell in love with this color but it was discontinued with another brand. I searched far and wide and found the match with Essie and the gel couture is even better with it's shine & longevity!
Taytay27988 from Mass
I got this a few weeks ago and love it the pigment is very bright it does take 2 coats at the minimum but it's shiny and it lasts a good amount of time I would say almost 2 weeks and I'm very rough on my nails
