I really hesitated to buy this because of the price and I wasn't sure how it would work but Ulta has such a libral return policy I thought I would try it. I used this when my hair had a lot of gray roots and I should have been using a box color like I usually do so this was a pretty tough test of the product. I washed my hair first and then applied the "stain". I used a lot it seemed and concentrated on my most gray areas. I left it in 2 hours because I wanted maximum color. My hands were stained with the warm brown color and did not come clean with soap and water. I used sink cleaner with bleach and it took the stain right off. I rinsed the product out after 2 hours (cleaned my house while it was processing), applied my normal stying products and blow dried my hair. My hair is very thick and coarse and does not usually hold color well. My hair came out feeling very silky and soft. I could tell a difference in color too. My hair seemed more of a rich tone. I would say this product is like a deep conditioner with a color stain. It did not totally cover my gray but blended it pretty well. Not sure how long it will last as I just used this product.
Discovered this at Ulta by accident. I was excited about this product. I'm getting tired of root touch ups every 2 weeks. Well it did nothing. I left it on for 40 mins. As I was waiting, it looked like my roots were turning golden brown. I needed darker, but I would have been fine with it. Washed it out and was really disappointed. Did NOTHING!!! Returning!!!

I had some really bad highlights growing out and I wanted to get rid of them without going to the salon. After some research I found this product and IT WORKED!! Made my hair so smooth and shiny I reccomended to so many people and they all love too.

This stuff WORKS. I have naturally dark brown hair that I bleached and colored red about a year ago, so I'm trying to keep the health of my lengths and ends by using color depositing conditioner rather than chemical hair color. When the color starts to fade, I apply the Dark Brown color on towel dried hair in the shower, leave for 30 minutes, then rinse. My hair is so soft and shiny afterwards, with my ends looking nice and dark like expected. HOWEVER, when I had copper hair, I purchased the Copper color so that I could similarly keep the color fresh without using harsh dyes on my processed hair. Copper is not true copper, it is Little Mermaid bright red. It looked absolutely ridiculous and was basically glowing, it was so bright. The downside to that was that this product lasts quite a while in the hair before fading, so I looked like Ariel for about a month.
So, it's a long-lasting product that works very well and does what it says it does. But do not purchase the copper color if you want a "natural" result, because that is not what you will get. The Dark Brown shade works lovely though.

So so angry! It turned my hair pink. I got my hair professionally done a week ago going from blonde to ginger! It was fading so I thought this would be great to brighten it up. It turned the parts of my hair that faded pink! Like neon pink! Do not buy

I recently used doHUE+ dark blonde, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results! As someone who has tinted hair, I was searching for a product that would seamlessly blend with my color. doHUE+ exceeded my expectations - the rich, dark blonde shade complemented my tint perfectly, leaving my hair looking vibrant and natural. The formula was easy to apply and delivered impressive coverage. I'm so happy I found doHUE+ dark blonde - it's now a staple in my hair care routine!

I got highlights and they lightened a lot more than I expected after a few months. I bought this to darkern my highlights and it did just that. I bought the cool brown color. I havent testing the lasting power, but its shiny and left some amazing color.

It took all the cool tones out of my hair. Warmed it up just the right amount and left it soft and shiny. I will continue to use this when I need to help my gray blend in better with my natural dark hair without that harsh stark contrast.

Im a natural dark brown brunette. I have been getting warm hughlights for about 2 years now but have wanred to revert back to my darker color. My hair stylist didnt darken my hair enough the last go around so after about 3 months i figured id give a temp color/depositing color a try. I didnt know exactly what to expect, so I searched social media and found mostly influencers paid to promote the product raving about it. After 2 attempts my final thoughts are: it adds shine, makes your hair feel fresh like that just washed salon feel, but the payoff in terms of color dimension isnt there… definitely not there for almost $40 a bottle. I wont be returning becuase i did use half the bottle in 2 attempts but i wont be repurchasing or recommending. Also final thoughts - be careful falling for influencer reviews, they are just paid to SELL the product after all.

Waste of money, i ordered the cool medium brown hoping it would give my dull hair some shine and darken my grow out ( I have naturally brown hair i dye it a bit darker) I followed instructions but left on my hair for an hour instead of 30 minutes and still did not see a difference in my hair at all, also did not make my hair soft like a deep conditioner should. Not a fan I do not recommend.

I bought dark brown. Mind you I already have very dark brown hair, but with an ashy sheen. My goal with this product was to add some warmth to it, and it delivered! Now I have a nice chocolately sheen without it being any darker. This is not something most people would notice, but it made me so happy. I have never been able to accomplish the color I want because dark brown demi permanent dye makes my hair black, and light brown does nothing. So happy I found this < 3 I used it on dry hair but I would not recommend doing that, as I literally used half the bottle in one sitting. It distributes so much better in damp hair! Also WEAR GLOVES, don't make the same mistake I did. I had to scrub my hands until they were raw and they were still slightly brown (I am white lol)

I used the light brown thinking it'd turn my hair into a pretty light brown… nope got a red mess. This producy also very obviously distributed unevenly even though I applied multiple layers and brushed it through. It did add some shine tho

I have dark hair and used the copper color which produced a pretty and rich copper hue on my hair that I can use as often as needed. Obviously it is not meant to provide long lasting color, but its a great option for flexible refreshes in between professional coloring. As a bonus, it added some texture and volume.

I never leave reviews but I had to come on here and share about this amazing product. It does exactly what it says it does!! I have pretty thick hair and figured I'd try out the dark brown gloss instead of going to the salon. My frizz is gone and my hair is so shiny. The color is subtle but you can clearly see a difference. As for the smell….. get over it. It's really not that bad and if you've ever dyed your hair before it's no different than the products they use at the salon.

I really love this product. It colors my greys just enough that everything just blends so nicely. It's almost like I have lighter brown highlights in my hair. I love that!

So I bought the copper color after dying my hair auburn and it wasn't as red as I wanted it to be. The Auburn shade was all out so i decided to give this a go. Now, people...this is basically a TINT. a semi-permanent one. It probably won't really cover your greys and it shouldn't. Not designed that way. Also, don't grab the copper if you're blonde. Sorry but duh...we all took art in h.s. It's a tint and it'll turn your hair pink. Mine is medium/darker brown prior to dying it auburn/mahogany. The copper gave it the boost of red it needed. I definitely didn't let it stay on for the 20. 10 mins was enough for me. I think I'll get a brown one to mix with bc it kept my hair looking so fresh between dye jobs...which i could go weeks longer. For me, I like it, it works.

My natural hair color is light ash brown, but I'm getting quite a few grays. I was looking for a semipermanent dye that would cover my grays while affecting my non-gray hairs as little as possible. I tried Clairol Advanced Gray Solutions in 6N Toasted Hazelnut (too warm) and 4A Chai Brown (too dark), Clairol Beautiful in 01N Light Natural Blonde (good but doesn't last), IGK Color Depositing Mask in Cali Cali and A La Plage (too pink) and Honey Please (too light), and Wella Color Fresh Mask in Golden Gloss (too pink). I also tried this line (DpHue Gloss+) in Light Blonde, Medium Blonde, Dark Blonde, Light Brown, Medium Brown, and Cool Medium Brown.
Well let me tell you, Light Blonde is too light to have any effect, Medium Blonde is kind of a "true"/neutral blonde, and Dark Blonde/Light Brown/Medium Brown could all be renamed various shades of orange. However, Cool Medium Brown is the absolute BEST!!! If you leave it on dry hair for 30 minutes, I would say it is closer to a level 6 aka light brown. There is no hint of warmth. It is as close to a match for my natural hair color as I am ever going to find in a semipermanent (non-damaging) dye and I could not be more pleased!!!
Pro tip: apply conditioner along your hairline before applying this color (and wear gloves) or it will stain your skin because it is very pigmented!

It deposited color, but its not what i wanted. If you have highlights i dont recommend this product. My hair is already starwberry blonde with blonde highlights and the copper color turned them bright pink. I had to scrub at them to make it fade to a light pink.

I bought the light brown and if turned my hair auburn. Its still cute but not what i wanted 😭 i orginally had a blonde balayage so beware!!!

No where near the color on the bottle. My daughters hair turned orange.
Mia from Santa Clarita
I bought this for my daughter with medium brown waist long hair. We did one application and saw zero results. No color change or impressive shine. We tried it again with less damp hair and same disappointing results. I can' return because it has to be half way full. I feel like I just threw time and money away for nothing.

so the copper color is super misleading as youd figure theres be brown tones to it! Nope just blood red lol to my surprise. Returning tomorrow!

I have medium brown hair with lighter brown ends bc I dyed my hair a year ago and haven't cut it all off yet.
I wanted to slightly darken my hair for the holidays so it doesn't look so different and I researched a lot of products and thought this would be best. I bought the cool brown and left it on my hair for 20 minutes. After I rinsed it out I noticed my hair was softer but that is all, it did not change my hair color even a little bit, quite disappointed.

Look at the other review with this title. I submitted a review in the app, but for some reason the app didn't not allow me to add pictures. So, this review is to add pics.
Small update: this color hasn't faded noticeably! No patchiness or unevenness

Nice shine and good color deposit.

Copper is NOT copper , its plain red and i hate the color. Returning immediately and cant wait for this to wash off. Not a red i would dye my hair. They should consider changing the name , very misleading.
