I finally bought this dryer after months of reading the reviews and justifying the cost. I have long thick hair that takes forever to blow dry and straighten. I dread the process!! I used this blow dryer for the first time this morning and loved it!! It dried my hair evenly & quickly. My hair was not a massive frizzy mess once it was dry. I would invest in this product and the product line again and again. Note: So the ulta store in my area has 20% off coupon out right now, hence why I bought it now. I went to check out and the clerk told me it was not good on Dry Bar brand. I was bummed but wanted it anyways. As she rang me up I mentioned that I had seen on the online reviews that people had used this coupon. Well sure enough she did a price check and scanned the coupon and it worked! We had to void and redo the transaction which saved me $50! So don't be afraid to ask them to try the coupon 😉.
I purchased based on such great reviews. I hated the color but decided I could live with it if I loved it. I was surprised at how heavy the dryer was, especially with the attachment on. The cool shot bottom was not easy to press or use and the buttons were in an awkward place on the handle. I kept turning the dryer off accidentally. Also, the cool shot button was not cool enough for me. The filter cover was hard to take off. It didn't dry my hair any faster than my old 1875 watt Revlon which I had for 5 years. I have overprocessed, coarse but thinning hair. If my hair were healthier this may have given me better results. I only noticed a slight difference overall but not enough to keep it. I tried it twice before returning it. It's just too pricey to justify keeping it. I believe with the right drying techniques such as using a roundbrush and the right products like Kenra's blowout spray, you can achieve great results with most any hairdryer without spending a lot of money.

I had this drier twice. I had to exchange in the store first time because there was a burning smell with one month only if use. Second time and one year later, I had the same problem. The quality it is great, my hair dries way faster and it leaves my hair beautifully shaped, but I don't think it is worth the price.

I loved this blow dryer but after a little over a year it burned up.

surprised some of the reviews are low because I bought this for my granddaughter and we love it. It's perfect for blonde hair. No frizz and leaves soft and shiny Will definitely purchase another one

After using my friends blow dryer for a week I knew I needed to get one. It drys hair near the root, it isn't heavy, difficult settings. I really love it. Worth the extra money.

I've had my original for almost 10 years!!! It finally went out and immediately had to repurchase this same brand. Leaves my hair shiny and fast drying. I also enjoy using drybar hair treatments.

I had this for four years and it broke. I absolutely love it and it drys your hair so fast. I have curly hair and don't need my flat iron with this. My daughter n law used it and went out and bought one for herself.

This is my second buttercup (foldable) hair dryer. The first one did the same thing as the second one. It got super hot and flames came out of it and it smoked bad and died. I took first one back to the store and they gave this one. Which I was happy with for about 2 weeks. Then it started getting red hot inside again I was afraid to use it. I tried it today and it is the same. Gets flaming red inside on low then, if you turn it to high, flame (long sparkes visible to the eye) come out the front. Super scary. Can send a video if you need one.

I purchased this blower 2 years ago. splurged! Wasn't even on sale. It was to be, ya know, my "adult, big girl" purchase lol. well 2 years later it's blown a fuse. Dead! It still turns on but only blows cold(room temp) air now. I had a Revlon blow-dryer that I paid $20 for about 15 years ago that I used religiously and still works to this day as my travel blow-dryer. disappointed this high end, high price, blow-dryer didn't last as long as I had hoped. but when it did work, I did love it. a little heavier than I'd prefer but not a deal breaker. I don't think I'd purchase this item again however.

I've had this hair dryer for about 2 months and now it makes an unbearably loud screeching noise immediately upon turning on. Honestly, I'm terrified to use it as the sound is concerning. Very sad because all my other tools and hair products from Drybar have been reliable.

My hair is long, thick, a bit on the coarse side. I've tried every Dryer, small, large, cheap& expensive...up to $500.00. I was looking for something lighter but I gave it a chance. It is weightier but not by much...&because the drying time is faster you hold it for less time! It does not frizz, burn my hair, it leaves me with a smooth finish. I use the med. setting, hot & hit the cool shot when needed. I love the yellow!

It dries better than my non-ionic hair dryer and leaves my hair soft and less frizzy. My hair is 2a wavy.

I recently bought a diffuser for my curly hair. It will NOT stay on the end of the dryer no matter how hard I push it on. So it bounces on the floor usually before I can catch it. Otherwise I like the dryer.

After the company switched production from bio ionic a few years ago quality went way down. Cheaper materials and way overpriced for what you get. Same with all of their hot tools. Save money and buy anything else.

This EXPENSIVE blow dryer must have been named buttercup for a reason. Suck it up buttercup when it breaks and rhe company wont stand behind their product!!! Switch in the cold shot button went bad. I am not a profeasional and choose this expensive blow dryer. I loved this blow dryer but the support SUCKS. I will never purchase another drybar product because of the lack of product support. Your better off buying a cheap blowdryer. My sister is a hairdresser for a living and I will make sure to tell her the crap support drybar supplys to their patrons. In turn shes Chatty Kathy so I Know she will share my concerns with her colleges. Thanks drybar for the AWFUL support. Anyone who chooses to purchase this blow dryer remeber my words. SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP!!!

I've had this for a few years and the off button stopped working. I wouldn't give this a negative review except for the cost and that it broke. You think of you spend this much on a blow dryer it would last more than a few years

I rarely ever write reviews. Because this blow dryer is so expensive for a non professional user, I feel compelled and obligated to share my experience . I have owned this blow dryer for right around a year and a half. Maybe alittle less. The blow dryer is fantastic as long as it's working. I used this blow dryer for a year with no problems. The next 5 or so months the cold shot has been giving me problems to where it doesn't work anymore and even seems like it could be a f i r e hazard. Because this blow dryer was so expensive compared to the drug store 10 year plus disposable blow dryer because of price, I figured I contact customer service. I purchased this blow dryer at Ulta. Unfortunately for me, I don't have the receipt so they will not warranty a faulty over priced junk blow dryer. My advice to anyone considering purchasing this over priced blow dryer, make sure you keep your reciept in a safe place so when it breaks hopefully they won't have a diffeent excuse not to warranty their expensive junk blow dryer!!!

My mother purchased this for my daughter last year. It is now glowing red and smells likes it about to blow up.

I love how quickly the buttercup dries my hair! Very shiny and no frizz. I upgraded my old conair for the buttercup and I'm so glad I did! I really notice a difference. I like the long cord. Would buy again.

I love this product so much. It works so fast and always leaves my hair so smooth and shiny with no static it's amazing.

Love this hair dryer. This is my second dry bar. My first one lasted forever. I have very fine silver hair. This dryer lets me dry my hair with a medium heat setting that never burns my hair. The ionic technology keeps my hair shiny and static free.

Literally only used it about a handful of times. It started throwing out cool air during use. I thought it was overheating so I turned it off for a few minutes. No change.

I bought the holiday set and it was so worth it. I can completely dry my hair in 10-15 minutes when it usually takes me 45 minutes to dry my thick hair. It was easy to use and leaves hair so soft. Definitely worth the money!
leslie9 from NC
I got the holiday kit for this blow dryer and it was a really good deal. I didn't like how heavy it was and the cord is really thick as well. I just would like something lighter. I guess it does the job.
