I am an African-American with thick natural hair, and I use the DryBar Hold Me Clips every time I deep condition and style my hair. Not to suggest that the lower cost alternatives are not any good (they may be a better value for some depending on the frequency of use), but I find the DryBar clips to be far more durable and longer lasting than other brands of "T-Rex" clips that I have used. I tried the 3 clips for $5 deal available at Ulta and unfortunately those clips broke after one month. I easily get a year out of the DryBar clips which actually saves me money in the long run. Of course your mileage may vary, but I highly recommend the DryBar version.
You have to be careful when using the clips or else you're at risk of pulling out hair when you take them out. I lost more than a few hairs the first time I used these. I have cheap clips purchased from Ulta that don't carry this risk. My hair is fine and plentiful. I would not repurchase these.

Are they over priced? Yes. Do I love them anyway? Also yes. Super comfortable and they do. Or get caught in my curly hair.

So much for not leaving a crimp in the hair, it sure does look odd on my wet and dry hair. I wish I had returned these before I ran out of time!

One of the clips broke after a few uses. I was able to get a refund though.

These are the best clips. I have fine curly/wavy hair that's hard to tame, the clips stay in place and allow me to focus on styling my hair.

Best hair clips ever. I have very think curly hair, they are they only ones I've used that hold without slipping! I know buy them as gifts!

Had them for about a year and they hold my hair for styling well! I also have used it to clip dresses before tailoring and they're sturdy enough for that as well. Definitely would recommend.

I do not care for these. They hold hair but they leave a crimps in the hair because of the teeth.

They seem high quality but I think it's a learning curve with them. My hair is shoulder length and it was tricky trying to section it. I figure several times of using them will help.

Perfect clips for sectioning off hair to dry, straighten, or curl! And the fun yellow color makes them easy to find in my bathroom drawer.

Leave it up to social media to put you on something and I've been seeing these hair clips and always wanted them because it has the best grip for thick hair care like mine and also for my wigs. I wish it so more than just four in the pack but this will do for now.

these clips are thick and strong! I ordered these when the other brand I bought a few months ago started breaking....Iost two clips in two days. these feel a lot thicker and better made than the other brand I had (which, btw Ulta doesn't even carry anymore). these don't fall out easily, and aren't hard to find because of the bright yellow that dry bar is known for

I've had them for 2 months and 2 have already broken.

Gave to daughter for Christmas gift. She is very happy with them!

These are far & away the best clips I've ever used--whether for sectioning or putting my hair up at bedtime to keep it from getting sweated up during sleep. Unlike "butterfly" type clips, they hold even my fine thin hair (whether wet or dry) without leaving creases or bumps. And they are low-profile enough for me to be able to sleep comfortably in any position. Don't be tempted by cheaper, multicolored imitators you might find online. I've found the "copycats" to be made of thinner and flimsier plastic, with rough edges, inferior hinges, weaker springs, and easily broken. They are also nowhere near as grippy as Drybar's.

With my Hold Me Clips, I'm styling like a Pro! I can now divide and conquer - my thin hair into sections so it looks thick and voluminous.

Literally. The. Best.

Love these clips. Metal clips in the past have gotten tangled in my hair resulting in breakage. These are easy peasy.

These clips are perfect for my thinning hair! Have great hold and don't slide around while I style my hair.

I finally found a hair clip that works! I have been searching for this exactly thing and believe it or not just recently stumbled upon these. I have very thin hair and these work amazingly! I use them to section off wet hair while I do my blow out. I think these are 100% worth a shot and 100% worth the price! They are durable and they hold even the thinnest of hair.
