I have loved Cinnabar ever since the first day our paths crossed back in 1980. I thought I met heaven on earth and I was right. Cinnabar is a beautiful and strong fragrance. A little goes a very long way. Because of this, I only wear it in the fall and winter and when I apply it, I spray it up in the air and then step under it to catch the mist. The scent is incredible and unique. I have never experienced anything else even close to this scent. I have gotten so many compliments on this fragrance. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the dusting powder, soap, and body lotion! They were all so amazing!!!
I have been wearing Cinnabar for over 30 years, since high school. It was often the only fragrance I owned - no need for anything else. I've never worn anything that people complimented more. Even others that wore Cinnabar said it smelled better on me. I recently needed to restock. I wasn't thrilled with the new bottle design, and was heartbroken to discover it didn't smell the same either. It's flatter and less spicy. There is a slight, weird, sour, citrusy scent I never noticed before. It doesn't last like it used to. The scent gets weirder as it wears. Not only does it not smell like Cinnabar, it doesn't smell good on me at all. Even my husband and son are telling me I don't smell like me. Please, please bring it back.

This is a powerhouse perfume. Not for the faint of heart. Wear it with confidence. Unapologetic and unabashed. There was is no note that throws me off, but not for the timid. Kinda reminiscent of old world perfume.

I have worn Cinnabar for over forty years and absolutely love it! I still get compliments all the time about how good I smell. It really works with my system apparently. I can't wear most other perfumes, even Estée Lauder, because they cause me breathing issues. Please don't stop producing Cinnabar!

So, I don't hate this, I like to wear it at work because I know I won't have to reapply and I can smell nice all day, amazing sillage and lasting power, truly impressive.
That being said, it's very, very old lady, musky smelling. This was a blind buy for me. It isn't a BAD smell, you just kinda gotta be in the right mood or situation for it.

I have worn this for over 35 years and still love it. When I put it on I have such wonderful memories.

I was introduced to Cinnabar many years ago, and the first time I wore it, I received so many compliments, and to this day, I still have people coming up to me and asking me what I'm wearing, and I proudly tell them Estee Lauder's Cinnabar! And for you younger ladies out there FYI, the men love this fragrance! I have never had another fragrance bring this much attention. This is now my permanent signature fragrance, and everyone knows it always will be!!!

I first wore Cinnabar 30+ years ago. It was my winter scent, warm, spicy and complex. It was long lasting and wonderful. The current Cinnabar is warm and spicy, but quite light compared to the old Cinnabar. I have not worn it consistently and try it every year or two, hoping that the old magic be back.

I agree with the reviewer that commented about a formula change with Cinnabar. I don't know why companies ruin their products this way, it must be production cost issues. It does not have that distinctive scent it used to have and the strength of it had changed, also. It was a perfume I truly loved. This change makes me question if I want to try Youth Dew again or not. I want a perfume that lasts several hours and is familiar as it used to be. This Cinnabar is not the same.

I have worn Cinnabar for years and was disappointed when I couldn't find it in the stores, thus went on line directly to Estee Lauder. I'm always getting stopped in stores or at gatherings with people telling me how good I smell and want to know what I'm wearing. I realize that sometimes a body chemistry will alter the way a parfum will smell, so I'm careful on the parfum I buy for that reason.

I have worn Youth Dew for years as my mother did before me; however, I do note that you have to be careful selecting fragrances due to your body chemistry. My spring/summer fragrance has always been Youth Dew. My mother would use White Linen in the spring/summer, but I could not wear it - I smelled horrible - it just didn't blend with my chemistry. I wear Cinnabar in the fall/winter which works very well for me as it is a little heavier. Everywhere I go, if they get close to me, they will ask what is that scent you are wearing? And, they cannot believe it is these fragrances that have stood the test of time. Also, shelf life has a lot to do with the fragrances going bad - they are made to use - not to just sit and gather dust! I use them every day - because I'm worth it!

I have fond memories of my grandma and mom wearing Youth Dew and Cinnabar. Mom bought me a gift box years ago and for whatever reason, I placed it in my cabinet and didn't use it. Recently, my 83 year old mom fell and broke her hip. One of her friends is in the same facility where my mom is at rehab. I spoke with her friend and smelled the wonderful scent of Youth Dew. It brought back so many good memories especially of my grandma wearing it. I loved her dearly and even feel the urge to break out her Aigner purse and wear Youth Dew! All the feels of the 80s for me. I went back home and found my perfume, lotion and powder of Cinnabar and Youth Dew. The last few days, I have been wearing Youth Dew and today, Cinnabar. With all of the stress and chaos of life right now, wearing them and smelling these wonderful fragrances bring a sense of nostalgia and takes me back to a time filled with wonderful memories when life was good and not as stressful. Although it is May, I feel like I should be all snuggled up on a winter day waiting for Christmas! Thanks for continuing to make these timeless scents!

The scent itself is OK. But it's changed so much that I don't even recognize it...and it dissipates so fast I couldn't smell it after about 30 minutes Totally different fragrance. Couldn't pick up anything familiar in it. Really disappointed.

Many shops store their perfumes under high intense HOT lighting at their shops or in hot warehouses & delivery trucks. THAT DEFINITELY CHANGES THE FRAGRANCE; totally ruins it.

Oh ladies let me say if you think this brew is good you have obviously never had the pleasure of Opium not black opium it is the most beautiful mixture of spices and deeply sensual floral with an opening not of mandarin it is truly magical. This is nothing but cheap Estée Lauder and just can't compare to YSL Opium

Wish I would have read the reviews first, so disappointed. It has changed, it smells like a restroom after someone has had a bowl movement. What a shame it use to be a great spicy fragrance.... Not the only one they have changed, the fragrances do not last, I believe they have cut corners and ruined the fragrances

I was disappointed with this new Cinnabar fragrance, I wore this back in the 80's and I loved it, this doesn't come close at all.

Probably a change in my chemistry!

Like many, I've worn Cinnabar for 20+ years. As a single mom I mostly saved it for special occasions. My daughter told me that whenever she smelled Cinnabar it made her feel happy, like somethin magical was going to happen. I wanted to buy her her own bottle but it's not the same! I still have an old bottle and I sprayed it on one wrist and the new bottle on the other wrist. There's no way they are the same formula. What I was hoping to pass on to my adult daughter to wear and make happy memories with is not going to happen now. I hope you go back to the original formula.

I was expecting a spicy, warm oriental scent. What I got is a headache inducing nausea spray. It's odd because it almost smells good, but there is a note that I can't really identify but it smells like cheap musk mixed with spice. Just not the Estée Lauder quality I've come to expect. Very disappointed. I've read many of the reviews and unfortunately I don't know what the original scent smelled like to compare. This isn't worth the price, you could get a cheap drugstore musk and it'd be a dupe.
Sunshine from Ellijay, Georgia
This is a outstanding fragrance and I get compliments every time I wear it.
Baba Mouse from El Dorado
This is one of my all-time favorite fragrances. It is warm and a little spicey, but not heavy. Just a small spritz reminds me of being in Europe at a small cafe or an evening in the Western United States on the beach with a campfire. There is a touch of flora, like an evening stroll through an oriental garden.

Was excited to find this scent was still available. Wore it years ago. I normally wore this in the winter because it is heavier and seemed to go with wool and sweaters but just used it this past week and I like it all over again

I have always loved Cinnabar. It reminds me of being in a market place in Singapore.
When I smell it I want to close my eyes and breath it in.
Adrianna from AL
I received this as a gift and it smells exactly like Big Red gum. It's pretty intense and is possible to give a headache but I like it a lot. It wears pretty well on the skin but personally I think it works better on back of the knees pulse points than wrists and neck since it's quite strong
mardenny from Fresno, CA
Many years ago Cinnabar was my favorite perfume. After being away from it for so long, I remember now how much I love it. The spicy, sensual fragrance is magnificent!
