I smooth into my hands and distribute from bottom to top. I have a thin hair- this helps give it some healthy fullness. It doesn't feel sticky or greasy at all, makes my hair feel smooth and look shiny, lightweight, while adding some thickness to it. I wouldn't necessarily use it for volume if you're blow drying it; there are better heat activated products for that.
