It is so much better. It is soft while exfoliating gently. I have noticeably softer skin. I really like how it fits over my fingers and contains a sponge. My face wash generally requires 2 pumps. When I use this, I use 1 pump and still feel like my face wash goes a long way and gets my face clean. I use this in the shower as well as at my sink at night. I have an annoyingly small bathroom sink that is a pain to use to while washing my face. I use this product and for some reason it makes it easier. I also use this to remove masks. I know you could just use a washcloth, I guess it's just preference. I received this as a gift, but will be buying it again and again. I can't believe how much softer my skin is! I think the price is fair, especially if you consider that you use less face wash.Most Helpful Critical ReviewSmellyI really liked this product at first, but after about a week or so of use this sponge started to smell like mold. I didn't keep it in my shower, I let it air dry in it's pouch in my bathroom after each use. I am disappointed because I felt that I finally found a budget friendly solution, but apparently not. I have a hard time using it with the sponge piece, but the top layer works just fine for me and it's easier to clean using only the top piece.Feels good on skin, but too thick & absorbent4tash from WAIf like me you already use a makeup removing cloth in your cleansing routine, or a regular washcloth for that matter, this little sponge may be redundant. It is for me. I do like the scrubby surface, however the interior sponge holds a lot of water and absorbs too much of my cleanser. Instead of lathering the cleanser directly onto the sponge, I spread the cleanser across my face, massage it around as if I were washing my face with my hands, then I take the sponge and scrub around my face where I need some physical exfoliation. It feels nice, but it's an unnecessary step when I can use my makeup removing towels in a snap to remove makeup, follow with second cleanse and exfoliate with a granular scrub if needed. If you don't already have a solid routine, this might be a good thing to start using. Personally, I've only used it a few times because I default to what works best. Though inexpensive, it wasn't a good purchase for me. I'm keeping it cause I have it, but wouldn't buy it again. It's good that you can seperate the scrubby sleeve from the sponge. The sponge has a less scrubby surface, while the exterior is the most scrubby part. It is a bit of an odd design, but I think I see what they were trying to do... Gives the option for less or more intense scrubbing. I like that it has a rougher side and a softer still exfoliating side on the other. It makes great lathers out of even some of my face washes that are a little bit harder to foam up. The only downside to this is that it is a 2 piece item. The inside of this is an actual sponge and the sleeve on the outside of it is what scrubs. I have no complaints about the quality or how they work because every piece on its own works really well. I came across it and decided to give it a shot. And I am impressed! I've been using silicone face scrubbers for years now. But my face feels and looks better than before. It is a light color so usually I do a pre wash to take most of my makeup off so I don't stain it. Then I lather it with my Regular face wash and scrub away the excess because any makeup user knows simply washing it with soap doesn't always take everything off and my face is squeaky clean after. The packaging is FANTASTIC because it is not wasteful— you can actually convert the packaging (which includes a suction cup) into a contraption that allows it to hang dry. Brilliant. You've got a make-up removing sponge that is enclosed inside of a tightly fitting pouch. Once you are finished removing make-up you can put the little sponge back into the pouch or use the pouch alone to exfoliate; inserting your hand inside the pouch seems to work best. The pouch has two functional sides: one side provides serious exfoliation and the other is a gentler exfoliation. Once finished, I usually put it back inside the pouch and then into its holding case to dry. The tiny attached label will fade away over time to indicate it needs to be replaced. The scrubber is very gentle - it's like a little sponge inside a holder. I use the holder as a mitt (it's slightly more abrasive). I like the brand, their products have some innovative technology as far as the label fading being an indication of when to toss the scrubbers because that ensures that they aren't kept too long for bacteria growth. I also like that the packaging is functional for hanging in the shower, and the little information packet inside has little morning affirmations/manifesto inside - love the positivity!
