Bismuth Oxychloride is the first inactive ingredient listed in this product, which can cause an allergic reaction when mixed with sweat in some people. I was super bummed when this product arrived and I read the ingredients, because I'm one of the sweaty people who itches like crazy due to B.O. However, B.O aside, this is really an excellent product. You get 2.5 oz for a decent price, it's very light on the skin and yet a bit moisturizing, does not cause breakouts/congestion and has a slight tint. It also has a 20% concentration of zinc oxide as the main UVB-UVA protector which is ideal but uncommon and hard to find. So minus the B.O, this product is a winner. I also have the sensitive skin version of the Cotz sunscreens and I like it as well. It is just thicker, more moisturizing and untinted without the B.O. I wish Cotz would make this without the B.O as I would prefer this sunscreen to the sensitive one for the summer. So the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is due to the inclusion of the well-known irritant bismuth oxychloride.
I have been wearing sunscreen everyday for the last 30 years, so I have used tons of different brands from all over the world! I favor tinted sunscreen so that I can just dash out for quick errands without putting on makeup. This product only has a very light tint, so it is not really enough to cover up my light freckles and even out my skin tone, unlike other tinted sunscreen and BB/CC cream I have used. Also, it is slightly greasy, I can see a thin film of oil on my face. Great for my dry skin, but not so great when I put on foundation for those days that call for a more made up face. My complexion looks dewy at first but after a few hours, it turns greasy. It is value for money though, as it comes in quite a big size for its price. May be better for the colder and drier winter months.

This is the oiliest sunscreen I have ever purchased, and I've purchased many. I was seeking an alternative to my regular Paula's Choice tinted sunscreen, because it's only 30 SPF and I was hoping for stronger protection. I'm sorry I even bothered. I used this on my face one day and, in addition to just feeling greasy on, it caused a small breakout. I switched back to my regular product and the breakout resolved itself. I have oily-combination skin that can be managed with the right products. So I figured this could just be used for the very dry skin on my arms (my practice for any facial sunscreen I purchase that I don't love). Nope. I felt greasy all day, and had to switch to an evening shower just to get that gross feeling off. It even left my drivers seat and steering wheel with a leftover sticky/greasy feeling the next day. Seriously, who was this product formulated for? I'm going to try to return it, or at least give it back to the store to use as a sample so no one else makes the same mistake.

I prefer a tinted mineral sunscreen with SPF 50 & at least 20% zinc oxide, this product checks all of the boxes. It is great for all skin types, sensitive, acne prone & mature skin. It leaves a beautiful dewy finish & looks great by itself or under makeup. Now, it comes in two shades which is great for all skin tones. I highly recommend this product.

I had a melanoma and my dermatologist insisted I start wearing a mineral based sunscreen every day. I happened to be at Ulta the day the company rep from Cotz was there showing employees the product line. I eavesdropped and then asked if he could show me. He explained the product has to be rubbed in/on with two or three fingertips in a circular pattern. He showed me the different products in the line and I gravitated toward the look and feel of this one. Since then I've been using it every day on my face, neck and décolleté and it has been amazing. I've always hated sunscreen and have tried many different brands. This is the first one I enjoy using and I feel it has actually inproved my skin. It provides a glow and a little coverage but can also be worn under matte foundation without "pilling" or balling up as some of the others I've tried did. However within a week or two of applying it I was able to stop using foundation altogether which is again, amazing! I went to Ulta today to buy more and found they were stocking only a small amount of product and it was on the bottom shelf. Almost impossible to find it. I felt like telling them this product should have its own tower display, it's amazing!

AND the tint doesnt apply evenly so these is the risk of coverage in one area but not in others.

Im on the lookout for a tinted mineral sunscreen for my brown skin tone and this is a good one. My personal cons are that it comes off really shiny if not blended in well. The formula is a bit thick so making sure its applied in different spots first makes it easier to apply evenly. The last con thats keeping me repurchasing this sunscreen is that it stains clothing! Yes, it is labeled on the sunscreen but I would love to apply on my neck and body without having to worry that itll stain my shirts. The tint stays there the whole time even after settling in, so this definitely is a product you would like to double-cleanse off.

This is the best tinted mineral sunscreen i have found. Lovely gel-like sunscreen that does not leave a white cast even though the shade Bare is pretty light. I have medium skin tone and its difficult to find an spf like this without fragrance and that leaves no cast. The tint is very sheer, at best gives light coverage. Its applies very dewy but does dry down mostly in a few minutes. I think its perfect for those with sensitive skin. You will not like it if you prefer a matte look.

I've tried so many mineral sunscreens, and this one is my absolute favorite! It feels a little thick when applied but dries down and doesn't feel greasy. Reapplication isn't a problem, and there is no pealing

Excellent product for coverage and feel on my face. I got the tinted product, and didn't have to put on any make up afterwards.

This feels like applying grease onto my face. Even when I use blotting sheets, it feels like a layer of oil. I cant really set it with powder because the sheet amount of grease damages the bristles of my makeup brush. I think I would like this if I used less, but then I wont be getting adequate sun protection so. The tint also fades so be aware of that if you were looking for a tinted effect.

Easy to blend/fool proof blending (that is really important to me), i have hyperpigmentation around my mouth and even then no white cast (light tint) . I feel like it provides some adfitional skincare benefits too, like helps fade dark spots. IDK quite like it, been using since 3 years.

I absolutely love this sunscreen! I only use mineral sunscreen and was having such a tough time finding the perfect one until I found this one by cotz! It is super gentle and moisturizing and it blends beautifully. It doesnt even feel like i have anything on my skin. It does a wonderful job protecting my skin!

I really wanted to like this sunscreen. I've been looking for a mineral sunscreen for a while and found this out of recommendation. I'm not really fond of tinted spf but this wasn't bad. The thing with this was, every single time I applied this I end up having allergy like symptoms similar to pollen allergy. My nose gets all runny and I can't stop this want-to-sneeze feeling that deives me nuts!! I've never experienxe this with any other sunscreen (and I've been using sunscreen for like 15 years so I've testes quite a few). Its not a bad product its just not for me.

I have been on a sunscreen journey the past few years & this is by far my favorite. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin and this doesn't break me out. I saw other reviewers saying it is greasy and I will agree that it does go on very shiny, but within 10 min it's totally absorbed. It's perfect for layering under makeup, although I find that I don't need foundation with this. Just a little bit of undereye concealer and I'm good to go!

I don't often write reviews but felt compelled to for this product. I live in the South on a lake and spend a fair amount of time outside. SPF 50 was a big selling point for me. A tint was a plus. After trying this consistently with and without makeup, I'm sold and just ordered my second tube. I have very sensitive skin and have had no problems at all. I can get away with using this solo with a little NARS pot concealer on days when I don't feel like making up but it's a perfect primer base for those days when I do feel like slapping it all on. It lasts all day; doesn't sweat off; doesn't irritate my eyes; doesn't smell; no pilling, etc. Perfect for me. I highly recommend this product and only wish I'd found it sooner.

I've used this product about 5 times now. I recently learned you need quite a bit of sunscreen for it to be effective and this just doesn't absorb at all. I have incredibly dry 30 yr old skin. the tint is nice and it does look good on the skin, especially once I set it with a powder but it leaves my brush greasy. I've also noticed that I'm breaking out a little more on my chin. I really can't decide on whether or not I like it. there are pros and cons. ultimately, I think this will be a return.

I love this. No white cast on my dark skin

I only use mineral sunscreen and they usually leave a white cast. I tried this and it is wonderful. It blends into my skin perfectly. I do not need makeup to cover. I have medium tone dark skin. I purchased the rich tone. It does not bother my acne prone eczema skin. My skin is dry and this provides moisture. It is not oily for me at all! It gives a slight dewy or moisturized skin look. I love this and will purchase this for as long as it is being made.

This product goes on so smoothly. I am olive skin with sensitivity and works great. It also blends well with makeup. I would not recommend for oily skin. Because of my dry skin, this product gives my skin a glowy look all day. I am happy to find a product that works with my skin tone and dryness.

This product really helps with my dry sensitive skin. Hyperpigmentation started to fade within a week!!

My skin is fairly sensitive and has been more combo/dry in recent years than oily. This moisturizing spf is perfcrt for adding some tint to my skin without feeling too heavy or leaving a horrible white cast. Wish there were a few more color options, but for how moisturizing the formula feels it's surprisingly never broken me out. This is coming from someone who is very acne prone and has learned to live with it. Would highly recommend trying it, just make sure to put on the right amount. Overapplying this will lead to potentially wasting the product and having a greasy layer on your face. Everyone has different skin, but this helped me to accept my natural face instead of trying hard to cover up my skin. Dewy and glowy, so this one is perfect for summer, and all the dry skin folks out there. :)

Got this as a sample and buying! I have very dry skin and eczema and mild Ichthyosis vulgaris and it's hard to find sunscreen. I flake easily. This is moisturizing enough and doesn't irritate patches of eczema. And doesn't show flakes like other mineral spfs. It's so amazing! I can even put on my dry eyelids. It eventually soaks in but doesn't burn like most when it does and I slept in it and no itching- one of my tests for irritation. So so good! Just need a much bigger bottle for us dry girls who have to put on lots of any product

Hard to find spf 50 for dark skin but this is liquid gold! No chalky residue.
