You can easily control the amount of concealer that you apply and it blends it perfectly. I take the concealer right from the little jar so it's not wasted. The brush is easy to clean with Clinique's brush cleaner. I really like that the brush can even apply it right under the eyes, right close to the rim to cover the red without getting it in the eye...the brush is quite petite and tapered to get in/under the smallest places. Sadly, this brush does not compare to the first. It is 1/3 of the size and very stiff. This brush is good if you are trying to conceal a pinpoint blemish, but not if you are trying to conceal an area of redness or a pimple. You want to be able to blend the concealer in with the surrounding area. You can't get a better application with your finger, a Q-Tip, or even another small makeup or craft brush. If dark spots are your main beauty concern, invest in this brush. It appears to be well-made and sturdy. I plan to clean it daily with a bit of dish soap. I've done this with my blush brush that I've had for 15 yrs. or so and it's held up just fine. We'll see. It's a great tool for blending and layering the concealer.
