I have prematurely gray, curly, thick, coarse hair, and the minerals in our hard water react with the heat of my styling tools to yellow the white/silver. I use this shampoo once or twice a week, depending on how often I style my hair with heat, and it takes the brassiness out and brightens the white/silver in my hair. Though it's a clarifying shampoo, it's not harsh and doesn't leave my hair feeling dry. And it smells like Froot Loops, lol. I've tried other clarifying shampoos, and none is as effective as this.
Have been using PM clarifying shampoo for 10+ years - always consistent result: removes all the chemicals & minerals and left hair squeaky clean and fluffy - NOT ANYMORE. They've changed the formula and now it does not remove the minerals/chlorine/residue, not squeaky clean as before and my hair is nit fluffy as before; lies flat and almost feels still oily/looks oily! So disappointed! Looking for a new shampoo now!

This is the only clarifying shampoo I've found that actually works. I use it every time I wash my hair (2-3) times a week. I only use it on my scalp because thats where my hair gets the most greasy and I use another shampoo for the mid-ends of my hair. I realized it works better when you put some on an emty bottle shake it then apply to the hair. It gives you more lather. I hope they never discontinue this shampoo!

Disclaimer - ive only used this shampoo once so far but i struggle with a greasy back of head even right after i was my hair. Well lo and behold, the back of my hair is NOT greasy after using this! It makes my hair feel refreshed and light!

I bought for my daughter who has oily hair, but I am now using it too! I color my hair, which isn't oily and is somewhat thin. This shampoo gives me so much body, bounce and shine! And the scent is amazing!! My new shampoo for sure!

My scalp has never been so sad. I thought it would be good for me to use once a week because I usually use a lot of products. Well, my hair is now dry as a bone and my scalp is something BEYOND a contact dermatitis and dandruff combination… from someone who has neither of those things at baseline… this shampoo has caused literal wounds on my scalp and they burn. Hair loss. Uhhhh yeah, I've had highlights/bayalage in the past, and I do not think that advertising this as "good for all hair types" or "good for color treated hair" is very appropriate…

I have been a Paul Mitchell user forever and a day. Never fails me. I may switch up with other products on occasion, but PM is my go to, ever since the products were first available, over 40 years ago.

Shampoo Two gently cleanses and leaves my hair squeaky clean. I combine it with Clean Beauty Anti-Frizz Conditioner, and it is the perfect formula for soft, healthy, shiny hair. My hair is fine, and too much conditioning just makes it limp and weighs it down. I like my shampoo to cleanse and my conditioner to condition, and this combination does just that.

Love the fragrance! Love the clean feeling it leaves without drying.

Great product for cleaning away gels, spraynet, oils, buildups that can appear like dandruff.

Smell is quality subtle lemon in the bottle and hand. Goes into the hair easy. Rinses easy, quick and best of all clean with no residue at al! My hair feels like it then weighs 1/10 of what it did before shampooing. Afterwards there is no smell in the hair. Hair is then shiny. Shinier than any other shampoo I have ever used.

I like to use this shampoo to do a deep clean and remove product and excess oil from my hair and scalp. If you feel like your hair is weighted down and dull, then give this shampoo a try. If you swim a lot then try Paul Mitchell Three.

I have fine, oilier hair that really needs a shampoo like this for frequent use. Most shampoos leave residue or build up these days, or use some sulfate alternative that leaves me hair gross, but this one does not. It's advertised as clarifying, but I find that between my hair type and the kind of water we have, I can use this all I want and it doesn't dry out my hair. Plain lemon is also a scent that I love, and wish there was a matching conditioner in this scent. Hope this never gets discontinued or changed.

I absolutely love this shampoo. It cleans so well and gets all the oily grossness out of your scalp without drying your hair out.

I routinely use this my last shampooing before I color treat my hair. Removes all products and build up so I can dye my hair with a clean slate. I've used other clarifying shampoos that still left a residue and it made a huge difference in my color

After moving to a new home, I struggled with greasy hair as a result of adjusting to soft water. This shampoo was the only one to make my hair less greasy and look clean.

I tried numerous clarifying and shampoos for oily hair. Paul Mitchell 2 is by far the best. What I like about is that it rinses out extremely clean. Then if I shampoo a second times only using like 1/5 the amount, my hair seems tp "disappear". It's that good that it takes ALL the junk off my hair. Smells like subtle lemon scent in the hand but after shampoo there is no small at all. Just prefect to me.

Love this shampoo! Can be used daily. I don't have the type of curls that can be refreshed on day 2, 3, & 4. I either have to put my hair up on day 2 or wash again. With this shampoo, it's not an issue. It's like a clean slate when I use this shampoo. When I use other shampoos, my hair is just not the same. The curls are wonky, weighed down, or overly moisturized. I typically have really good hair days when I use this shampoo combined with Ouai conditioner/mask.

This product is okay, doesn't feel as if it's the most clarifying formula out there; and if blind tested I wouldn't have guessed it was clarifying. Having thinner hair and being a cis-gender male who washes his hair frequently I don't have INTENSE build up to out this up against but it does more than my thinning hair shampoo I use. It's cute o'whateva.

I absolutely love this clarifying shampoo. I had so much build up on my scalp and after using this, i don't have as much and my scalp isn't as itchy!

This is the only shampoo I've found after years of searching that can manage my fine/thick hair. Some background, I have shoulder-length hair that has highlights and I have to shower every day. I know I could probably train my scalp to let me skip every other day, but I have allergies and showering in the morning is the only way to make my sinuses and itchy eyes feel better. This shampoo is fine to use every day (though once or twice a week I substitute with Pureology Hydrate Sheer if I feel like my hair needs added moisture) and I follow up with Aveda's Nutriplenish leave-in conditioner. My hair never feels oily or weighed down, and I usually air dry after scrunching/twisting a bit to add some waves. I'd recommend people with fine, oily hair and little heat damage give this one a try!

I bought this stuff today after struggling with greasy and weighed down hair for the past week. I have long hair and I use a 3-4 after shower products daily. After one use my hair is so soft and shiny. My hair was so squeaky after washing. For the price you absolutely cannot beat it. The lemon scent is a plus too. Definitely will be a staple in my hair care for now on!

Haven't used a clarifying shampoo in years. Was struggling with scalp issues, bought this and in one wash my scalp is feeling back to healthy again! I have fine, curly hair and isn't drying at all.

i'm normally very skeptical of paul mitchell products because they are very hit or miss for my thick, wavy hair. after using this for the first time, my hair feels genuinely clean and refreshed. i had minimal breakage/falling strands in the shower! zero complaints
