It's kind of like a concentrated version of the firm hold one, meaning, it's really thick! I use a little water with a pea size amount to thin it out a bit and it makes it easier to evenly distribute it through the hair. Has a phenomenal hold! You can do 4 things with this. 1) for a shiny look, simply apply to damp hair, style, and let it air dry. It won't move whatsoever. 2) for a matte look, simply apply to damp hair, style, let it air dry, and once it is dry, run your hand through a few times. Hair will keep the shape created, but will become matte and will feel soft as if nothing was in there. 3) for texture, apply to dry hair, scrunch, and it'll stay that way. 4) finally, for volume and hold, apply to damp hair, and blow-dry. You'll have big voluminous, and even thicker looking hair, and it'll keep that shape all day. You can dampen your hands a bit and tweak the spots you want, and it'll stay. Or add a dab more of gel onto those specific spots once you're done with the blow-dry process. I don't see any alcohol in the ingredient list, that's why I got it this! Hair feels smooth, and holds super well. I literally only use a pea size amount and my hair has a medium length. The tube is smaller than their other gels, but that's because you need to use much less as this is like a concentrated product. Give it a try, I think you'll like it.
