Don't try to do this in a rush. I recommend prior to using for best results: wash your face with a moisturizing face wash, GENTLY exfoliate (areas you're using the Nair), and last- keep a lukewarm cloth for a few minutes over the areas you plan on using the cream (to soften to hair). This is a solid 15 minutes prep. Apply the Nair in an even and thick layer where you want to get rid of the hair. Set a timer for exactly 5 minutes. Check an area with a q-tip or round cotton face pad. If the hair comes off, go ahead and gently remove the cream. If it doesn't do 1 minute checks. 7 minutes is my perfect time. Seriously never leave on longer than 10 minutes because it will burn your skin and make red. I use barely-damp cotton pads (about 5-8 depending on how much area you're covering) and very gently wipe the cream in the direction your hair grows. Once you remove the cream, rinse your face with cold water, pat your face dry (use a nice soft towel careful not to scrub your face), and immediately apply facial lotion- I use Jergens all purpose face cream -nothing perfumey or scented not meant for your face. Leave your face alone for about 30 min to an hour (don't immediately try and apply powder and foundation). If you do it just like this, Nair will work perfectly every time. The trick is not to rush it- it's a serious chemical.
I had this product for fine hairs on my upper lip, chin, and a few fine cheek hairs. I followed instructions thoroughly left on for 5 mins, when I went to wipe off with a wash cloth OMG lets just say my face felt like it was on a stove being cooked!! Once I finally got it all off I screamed when I threw cold water on my face to rinse the rest off completely. This took place about 2 hrs ago, now my face is extremely red, is still burning badly, ooooo and the best part I have red bumps, and scabs everywhere. Would not recommend ever, unless you want to feel miserable. It did remove the fine hairs tho but in exchange gave me scabs =(

With all these reviews I think its important to remember everyones skin is different. I have always used this stuff with no problems. Yes, I do have to tweez one or two course hairs sometimes but overall it works great to get rid of that annoying peach fuzz and white looking thicker hairs. Give it a try for yourself and always patch test to see how it works with your skin if you have never used it before

I have fine hair on my upper lip, and this is absolutely 100% ineffective at removing it.

Didn't get 100% of the peach fuzz on my chin but definitely got a lot of it. No bad smell or any reaction other than temporary redness. I definitely stayed under 7mins! Don't risk it.

I only applied small amounts and left on for the minimum of 5 mins and my face is still burning. I have applied a cool cloth several times and it still burns. The worst product I have ever used. I highly recommend you DO NOT USE!

I have very fine blonde peach fuzz. Tried this twice leaving it on for 10 minutes but with no results, I ended up shaving anyway. A couple of red reactions on my cheek bones but they eventually went away. Seeing as it does nothing and with some redness I will get a refund from the pharmacy where I bought it.

I bought the NAIR PREP & SMOOTH FACE HAIR REMOVER. Followed instructions as is. Not even by the 10 minute mark, my left side of my check was already burned, I was completely in pain. Then, the bottom of my chin from my right side as well, burned. My face is burned, irritated and now I am left with the burned scars. I can feel the skin from my face rough due to the burning around it but those 2 where the major ones. HORRIBLE PRODUCT, NEVER AGAIN WILL BUY FROM THIS BRAND!!

Barely removed any hair on my face, and for the ones that were "dissolved" it does not remove these hairs "below the surface" as claimed. I find better results with shaving, which is much less finicky and clear cut (pun intended).

Absolutely terrible! This was my first time using it I left it on for about 5-7mins, when I wiped it all off and rinsed my face I notice my skin was bleached. I'm literally crying.

Should have stopped the first time when it left me with scabbing but I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt- even when I try to use it exactly as described, it burns, leaves me red and looking like a child with a rash around their mouth. On top of that, it only removes hair about half of the time. Don't buy this! I don't even have sensitive skin but this hurts and will make you look terrible.

I bought this in hopes of getting results since I struggle with PCOS hair growth on my chin and upper lip BUT this did nothing. Applied it as directed and nothing I wasted my money and still had to shave it off. The ONLY thing I can give you is that after the shave it was smooth. Do not recommend buying this at all night as well stick to shaving or getting it waxed

The SH face removal cream would SOMETIMES work which was annoying. I saw Ulta carries the Nair so I tried it and with the first use all my mustache was gone. Will continue to buy

I have used this for many years and it worked great. Over the last year or so it doesn't work well. I have to use it 2 to 3 times a week for 12 mins and it still doesn't always take everything away. I miss the extra cream that used to come with this to help the redness after using.
