I don't know if it's intended to be like that but it's not pitch black but instead a very light grey color needs to be built up if you want it more darker! The tip is really fine and can help if you want precise lines. The formula just flows and gives such a smooth line in one go. However, if I apply it lightly to get sharp lines, I feel like the color isn't as intense.
