If I could think of a word to describe this palette it would be Difficult. The shades are difficult to apply, difficult to create cohesive looks with and in some cases barely usable. The silver shade especially is a MESS. The texture is a huge fail. It's like very thin foil flakes, so thin that they almost dissolve when rubbed, but still so thick they look awful on the eye. It's patchy, gross, and just bizarre. After one use the pan looks like silver black scraps of paper, so ugly it ruins wanting to even use the rest of the palette. What was Tarte thinking? Did anyone test this shade? The other colors are not pigmented enough and like I said above it's just too much work. Major let down for this price.

Okay, i feel like i need to advocate for tarte here… I dont know why everyone is hating on this pallette. The range of colors is perfect for everyday wear and creating fun looks when you want to be a bit more bold. The color payoff on the mattes is not stellar with just one layer, but once you build it up it's perfectly fine. And the shimmers may be dry if you're using a brush idk, but i always use my fingers to apply shadows with glitter because i feel like it helps them go on better no matter the pallette, and that is definitely the case here. Just apply gently with the pad of your finger and they go on beautifully, super pigmented, and dont crease at all even after hot summer days (with primer and setting spray, which is a must with any makeup). I absolutely love this pallette! No complaints about formula or pigmentation - the people who arent enjoying this pallette just arent using it correctly!

I wrote a negative review on this over a week ago and it wasn't published, so here goes again: This palette was a major disappointment. Every shade in the bottom row is sheer/patchy/poorly pigmented, and the two pans on either end are chunky glitter flakes over a black base. The swatches shown on this page are not accurate at all for the bottom row shades. The top two rows are nice but nothing special. Returned.

I really thought this pallett looked so pretty. But it is sadly disappointing. The pigment is not good and doesnt show up on my eyelid. The glittery colors look very pretty in the pan but extremely subtle when they are put on the eyelid. I absolutely adore tarte products, but this is a no go!

This is the perfect everyday palette! The dual chromecolors are amazing. I always love tarte shadows. I see most reviews complain about the 2 softer, glitter shadows. They are more like foils then traditional shadows & there's nothing wrong with them if you know how to use them. Now the cons, the pan sizes are about half the size of their normal Tarte palettes. Also, where did the sweet cookie smell go? It gets 4 stars from me because i dont think the value is there compared to past palettes but you will get the quality thats always found in Tarte palettes so take that for what its worth.

I sent my husband in to grab this for me while he was on a work trip and close to a store. Had I tried this in store first I probably wouldn't have purchased. Most of the colours are lovely, blend nicely and lean cool-toned which is good for my complexion. Unfortunately the shades Unique (bottom left copper) and Speak Up (bottom right silver) are AWFUL - they just flake off at the slightest touch and get EVERYWHERE. I have never seen this happen in any makeup I've tried before. It's not actual glitter, more like the eyeshadow itself has dried out in the pan and turned to flakes. The fallout is absolutely insane and wreck any makeup previously laid down. They're not specks of glitter which can just be picked off and removed, they are actual flakes of eyeshadow because when you try to swipe it away it smudges in. I wear contact lenses and for this reason I'm scared to use these pans on my eyes, too easy for a flake to get in my eye and cause chaos. Definitely not safe for lens wearers or anyone concerned about eye health. You can basically only use these two pans by lifting a chunk out, wetting it, and turning it in to a liquid eyeshadow. Beware though, if you use too thick of a layer it just dries and flakes off all over again. There is also an ugly black layer under the surface of both of these two pans that appears once you swatch/use the shadow. I definitely won't be using these and I'm even considering chipping the eyeshadow out and cleaning out the pans so they're empty and don't flake all over the others. Also disappointed with the most exciting-looking colours in this palette - the blue/purple tones in the bottom row. One is a duochrome (Achieve) which is a nice colour but not very pigmented compared to other brands. The purple and blue shades Power Move and Bold are patchy and not very pigmented. Without the bottom layer this is basically just another cool-toned nude palette with a couple of toppers. The wow factor comes from the bottom row which is a complete fail.

When I received this, the first thing I did was check where it was made, because I believe it is important to support businesses that operate in the USA. I was very disappointed to see "made in Taiwan" on the box. At this price point, and with Tarte's previous reputation for producing most of its cosmetics in the US (maybe I am uninformed here, and was just not aware when they changed their operations), I was fully expecting this palette to be made in the US. So i took off one star for that. I took another star off because two of their colors appear to be pans of pressed glitter. I was pretty horrified when I tried to pick up the shade Speak Up with my finger and flakes came of the surface of the pan, leaving a black layer underneath. Same issue with the copper colored metallic shade Unique. I've never uploaded images in my reviews before, but I believe this is a serious issue and prospective buyers should be informed, so I'm including pictures in this review. There should be an eye warning for these shades, as with all cosmetic glitters. The other shades I've tried (I haven't tried them all) seem to blend reasonably well and I haven't experienced a lot of fall out with the matte shades. I would strongly suggest using a glitter glue primer, in addition to your regular eyelid primer, for the metallic shades. Those two flaky glitter shades mentioned above are not going anywhere near my eyes! I value my eyesight. I own many Tarte palettes and I have been happy with all of them, but this Big Ego palette will likely be my last Tarte purchase, even if it looks like I can get many great looks from it. I'm sure I can get the same from other cosmetic lines that proudly make their products in the USA.

I am so shocked at how beautiful this palette is! The texture of the shimmer shades reminds me a lot of the old Kylie Cosmetics formula, which I loved! Super creamy and pigmented. The amount of looks you can create with this is endless!
