Nothing was helping and it was incredibly painful. My dermatologist advised me to stop using everything and only use CeraVe Healing Ointment until my appointment, two days later. I was simply amazed at the difference, just from one day to the next. I make my own, natural, healing ointments, which are very effective in treating minor cuts, burns, and rashes. But my skin needed something "neutral" to recover from the reaction. CHO was exactly what I needed. The pain is gone, swelling is reduced, the redness is dramatically reduced, the peeling skin is gone and the cracks are healing (my dermatologist even took pictures). I have a new medication now, but between applications, CHO is all I use on my mouth. I am immeasurably grateful for it.Most Helpful Critical ReviewDenatured Alcohol?I have no idea why Cerave decided to include denatured alcohol in this product. This is a very irritiating and drying ingredient that can exacerbate skin conditions.
