This is a longer review so buckle in! I'm someone who has worked in beauty retail for over six years, and has been using as many hair products as I can get my hands on lately so I can also be familiar with more haircare brands and because I take pride in my hair's health. The Sake Rinse by Nature Lab Tokyo can be used by itself or you can combine it with the use of your favorite shampoo for a double cleansing day, and I decided to use it both ways before writing my review. Another thing that makes this product unique is the fact that it is meant to be a ph balancing formula, which can help with your scalp's health. I noticed immediately in the shower that this made my hair feel instantly smoother during application as I was rubbing it into my scalp, thanks to the rice water ingredient. This product is especially great for people who experience a dry or itchy scalp. I'm one of those people, if I have my hair up in a tight style (and to be honest I do most days that I leave the house, so my hair is out of my face), then my scalp gets itchy from the tension. So using this in a shower helped my scalp feel less itchy after a long day. When I used it by itself, I was impressed that it still managed to cut through a few days of grease build up in my hair, and helped cut my hair shedding down from the normal amount I get with most traditional shampoos. It also kept the grease from my roots for a two to three days (longer if I braided my hair between washes). I am deducting one star because the smell wasn't my favorite (this is because I'm not personally a fan of the smell of fermented ingredients, and I felt that was pretty strong in this product) and was pretty overwhelming when used by itself. But this product does what is advertised, so I can't hold the smell against it too much. The day that I used this by itself and not followed up with a different shampoo, the smell definitely lingered in my hair for more than 24 hours, and I kept smelling it whenever I would flip my hair out of the way. But when I used a scented shampoo after using this rinse, my hair smelled like the shampoo I used instead, so smell was no longer a problem for me. (Also note that the hair shedding not being as much as usual, only happened when I used this scalp rinse by itself. If that is something your are interested in for your in shower haircare, try this product out.) Overall I'm happy with the results of this product and will recommend it to others who are trying to help their scalp health. It doesn't hurt to try new products, and this is something unique in my opinion that a lot of people might not have thought to try before. **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**
Dry shampoo is one of those staples that I can't imagine living without. I grew up using baby powder on my oily roots in between shampoos, but if you've done that then you know that it can turn fine hair into a static nightmare. Even as a professional beauty writer, I rarely get to test a dry shampoo, so I'm happy for this opportunity. For reference, my natural hair color is medium brown, so even though most of my hair is blonde, chalky residue shows on me.I Liked the Applicator At First: Most dry shampoo comes in aerosol form, so NatureLab Tokyo's pump applicator is unique. Press the pump down, and a puff of rice powder wafts out in a very fine burst. Initially, I liked the applicator, but the pump screws on, and the mechanism unscrews while I'm using it. The problem: ending up with excess powder on my hands instead of my roots. This seems like an easy manufacturing fix as a simple seal would lock the twist mechanism in place.Issues with Dispensing Adequate Product: I like that the first burst of powder is ultra-fine and doesn't leave any residue on my scalp, but each subsequent pump yields less and less product. I don't need a lot because I shampoo every other day, but I did have trouble getting enough product on my oily areas. Smells Very Nice: I'm not a fan of most of the fragrances used in dry shampoo, but I really enjoy the almond and violet scent in this one. It doesn't linger or clash with my perfume; it just does its job in a discreet way.Closing Thoughts: Of the four NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean products I tried, this one is my least favorite. The pump mechanism and the amount of product that it doesn't dispense make this harder to work with than it ought to be. With design improvements, I could easily see this as a staple in my routine, but for now, it's more work than it should be.

I have dark brown (at the roots) limp, fine very oily hair. My hair gets oily 10 hours after washing. I try to not wash it often, so I use dry shampoo. Im used to using Batiste dry volume shampoo but I hate the aerosol and it leaves a buid up of gunk on my hair. I read the reviews for this so I thought i would give it a try. You do have to keep shaking it but its no big deal. It doesnt give me much volume but it makes my roots look and feel clean. I like that theres no residue. I just felt like I had to use a ton of it to get to all of the oily area that needed to be covered and im not sure how long the bottle will last.

I was hesitant bc every powder dry shampoo i've ever tried did not work - this one does! It leaves a light airy feeling, not weighed down with residue. And bonus pointa for the bottle it's packaged in, no more dumping powder into your hands and then spreading on hair!

I love this dry shampoo. The dispenser is awful. It does dispense most of the time with out vigorous shaking or tapping, then I get one pump and have to start over tapping and shaking to get anothe pump. I usually end up opening the bottle but that makes such a mess.

The dry shampoo itself is ok, and I like the dispenser for this product, but I really don't like the scent. It's probably supposed to be a clean fresh scent, but it smells like super cheap laundry detergent or dryer sheets that are super fragrances. Not a fan. At least I can reuse the package for other powder dry shampoos I like more.

First off, I have very fine, mostly straight hair and my strawberry blonde roots are outgrown a bit from my usual magenta/fuschia root. This is hands down the besr non-aerosol dry shampoo I have used. When using, I am constantly shaking/mixing the powder and spraying within 4-5 inches from the root. I then distribute with my fingers before I use a brush. I honestly feel like a chinchilla taking a volcanic ash bath. I have very minumal (if any) white cast. I love how fresh and clean this makes my hair feel. Normally, dry shampoos will leave some sort of texture in my hair, but this one does not. My hair just feels so soft and clean. I could not have asked for a better product.

After all the recent controversy on the benzene ingredient in most aerosol dry shampoos, I decided to make the switch to a non-aerosol dry shampoo and started with this new one from NatureLab since I love their clean, cruelty-free shampoos, conditioners and scalp scrub. I love the travel friendliness of this packaging (portable and TSA friendly), and the clean, fresh scent plus slight volumizing, which is what I need from a dry shampoo. One note to share about this type of packaging -- you have to SHAKE the product BEFORE EACH USE (it says it on the directions but pointing it out in case you are like me and do not read...lol).

The NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean 2-in-1 Scalp Scrub & Clarifying Shampoo restored my faith in scalp scrubs. I have an oily scalp and dry ends, I bleach my hair, and I still would recommend this product to anyone. I have over 15 years of experience in sales, training, and development testing, but I would give this 5/5 stars. Not only does my scalp feel hydrated and balanced after just one use, but I genuinely have less itchiness for irritation from the dry weather after exfoliating with this product once a week. Since this brand is excellent, let's look at the overall details.First impression: Simple, elegant, easy-to-use package. I wish there were a better way to dip into the container, but I used a spatula, which worked great.Scent & Texture: This product smells like a fresh, clean spring rain, and I can't get enough. The texture is that of a smooth paste and glides onto the scalp without an issue. Results: After one use, my scalp had less dry skin, was less itchy, my hair felt softer, and I smelled fresh! After using the product one day a week for a month, I am convinced this is an excellent product. Just use it sparingly if you have sensitive skin! **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

First and foremost, I LOVE the packaging! Never have I ever seen a dry shampoo that didn't come in a can! The powder was somewhat intimidating I thought it would be messy or hard to work with, but I was partially wrong. The powder was somewhat difficult to use I felt like I had powder residue left in my hair, even after following instructions... I had to blow dry my hair after in order for it to feel normal. I used it three times and I didn't notice much of a difference besides the fact that there was a powdery texture left on my hair. I have coarse, combination hair so i do feel it somewhat dried me out. I think this product would work well on oily hair. I appreciate the size of the package, it's the perfect size to just throw in your overnight or gym bag.

I am a licensed cosmetologist with over 10 years of experience. I recently tried the NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean Dry Shampoo and was really excited with non-aerosol packaging and powder consistency. Unfortunately, when I dispensed the product it was messy and left a powdery residue in my hair. It reminds me of this volumizing root powder I had from Sexy Hair. I found it hard to apply it to a designated section. I recently had a silk press and want to add clip-in extensions. I have fine hair so, I thought adding some of the dry shampoo would help give some grip. The pump dispenses too much product in one area. The dry shampoo just didn't perform for me like I'd hoped, and I ended up with too much white powdery residue in my hair. I used a brush to get as much of it out but I think it's probably better on lighter blonde hair than dark brunettes. It leaves a cast.

This product was interesting. It did separate a lot whenever. It's just sitting there which I feel like it's some thing that is the product itself was stable and it's only when it's separate. but as far as once you do vigorously, shake it up and make sure that it's fully mixed. It does do what it says it will do. It does help longevity, and re-styling of a style that you've done or that your hair has so in that sense yes it works. It does what it claims it does. I think the product work well I think I have others that works just as well without separation of product and sedimentation, but for what it is, I wasn't able to check on the price of this item, but it does what it claims and if the price is right then I think it's worth it. The packaging is cute and clean. **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

I am a hair stylist with over a decade of experience. I must confess, I'm a recovering product junkie. I love exploring hair products and over the years I've learned to be more critical of the products that I use for myself and my clients. When I transitioned from a relaxer to natural hair, I struggled thinking a lot of products didn't work for me. Clarifying shampoo was truly a game changer in my regimen. I discovered that products were not working because I had product build up so other products weren't penetrating my hair! I find that a lot of people skip clarifying, especially when they are not a regular salon client. So sometime it's not that your favorite mousse stopped giving you amazing curls. You need to clarify. Clarifying is what make your products more effective. I love this clarifying shampoo because it is a 2-n-1. I have a scalp scrub product from another company that I use as a pre-poo. This 2-n-1 is replacing that because amen to product decluttering. Scalp health is so important and this scrub gets the job done. As an extension and protective style wearer this was just what I needed after taking down my braids after vacation. The scrub is gentle on the scalp and melts down with an amazing lather. Just one round of shampooing gets the job done. I would recommend including this in your routine once a month. This great for stimulating growth, dandruff, cleansing dirt, oil and product build up. 5 STARS! **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

This scalp rinse us a must have for dry scalps! It also works great for in-between washes so it's actually good for ALL scalp types and hair types. I have very coarse hair with high porosity but this rinse still got the job done. I used it twice a week for one week and immediately noticed the difference in scalp hydration. It is very lightweight and has a nice fresh floral scent. A little goes a long way so be very careful when applying as it's quite thin so you can easily accidentally use too much. Even if you do, that's okay! The price point is quite affordable and they only use clean ingredients such as sake and rice water!! As a cosmetologist I always have clients asking what kinds of products can they use in between washes and I have finally found something I can recommend! **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

I mean…who doesn't love dry shampoo?!? I've been in the beauty industry for over 23 years, including as a salon owner, and I remember when this concept hit the scene a blew all our minds and we could not keep it on the shelves! Thankfully now all our favorite brands have their own dry shampoo, and I have used most all of them…so let's just say I'm hard to impress when it comes to this arena. However, after using NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean Dry Shampoo for a month, it has exceeded expectations! Let's dive into why. It is highly unusual to find dry shampoo that is not aerosol. Which means I have lived with accidental sprays in my gym bag or over-pressurization while flying which results in everything I packed being covered in dry shampoo, and me having no dry shampoo to use for the week. But this product has solved all those problems! And the pump action which dispenses this fine powder is so pleasing to use! It allows for super specific application without being choked out by a cloud of aerosol in the bathroom. The powder smells fresh and clean and does a perfect job of absorbing oil to help my style last one more day (or maybe every two ). And this small bottle is so easy to carry yet lasts forever! This is my new go-to dry shampoo!

First off I want to just appreciate the non aerosol bottle, we all know how harmful aerosols are for the planet so this is AMAZING. So with that being said this pump bottle, I really thought was going to be a hassle, but it is actually very easy to use and puffs out the perfect amount of dry shampoo, so it I do not have excess amount of dry shampoo going all over my scalp. It is great, because not only does it puff out the perfect amount but it is easier to get specific areas like if you just want to have the dry shampoo in a certain spot but not all over your hair. This is really good since it won't spray all over your hair instead it literally just goes on one specific area.So I used it about maybe three days after my last shampoo so my hair was nice and oily, because my hair is pretty thin it does get oily and greasy fast so I really can't go longer than two or three days without washing it, this really helped push the third day so my hair wouldn't look so flat and greasy it did help give it a little bit of volume and look not so oily. I have never really cared for dry shampoos for the fact that they always add build up to my hair, and when you spray them, it goes all over the place but this one did a really good job at not creating such a mess, it didn't create or cause any extra buildup in my hair, and it really did a good job at reducing the oil or greasiness in my hair and made it look almost like day one after shampooing it.

As someone who uses a dry shampoo and/or texture spray on my long wavy hair on an almost daily basis, I really wanted to fall for this product! I'm always on the hunt for a great dry shampoo that works well, doesn't have a scent I don't care for, and even better, if it's easy to toss in my bag. I just found that dispensing this product was messy. It was hard to apply it in a targeted and balanced way, and more often than not, I ended up using way too much powder in one or more areas. I like a dry shampoo to extend the life of my blowouts and help me balance out my scalp after workouts and between different hair stylings. I do appreciate the portable and non-aerosol packaging, but sadly the product just didn't perform for me like I'd hoped it would.

As a Beauty Community Manager in NYC with over 10+ years of experience in the retail hair care industry I'm always helping clients to create a haircare regimen. I am a textured hair care guru always looking for brands that create products that can work for all hair textures. NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean Dry Shampoo is the go-to product for people who sweat excessively in their scalp or hair gets greasy very fast.I sweat in my scalp and I'm always looking for something that will absorb the excessive oil. I used this product on my scalp directly after I did a powerwalk. It instantly dried the excessive oil on my scalp and gave my roots some extra volume. This I loved because even though I have curly hair my stands are fine and become weighed down very fast.I sectioned my hair in four quadrants and parted each quadrant into three sections. I shacked the dry shampoo and sprayed it directly on my roots. It instantly absorbed my scalp oil and deodorized my hair. I also like the product gave my hair an instantly root volume. The product does appear white when first applied but will become invisible within a few minutes. I did rub the product into my scalp with helped remove the white appearance. In my professional opinion this product would be great for people who hair gets greasy extremely fast or sweats excessively in their scalp. I would say if you have textured hair and dealing with dryness/lacking moisture a dry shampoo may not be your go to product. If you travel, workout or need to refresh your hair on the go this product is only 0.74oz and can easily fit in your makeup bag.

I've worked in the beauty business for nearly 30 years and throughout that time I have sported every hair color imaginable. In more recent years I've gone a good bit lighter to help camouflage/blend in my gray hairs when they start to grow back in. I get my roots done every four weeks like clockwork, but during the time between appointments, I only wash my hair about once a week. And as a bottle blonde, I use a good number of hair products on an almost daily basis to add moisture and shine back to my more dehydrated hair. What I am getting at is that I have a pretty good system in place, but all of this adds up to really needing a good clarifying treatment that deep cleans both my scalp and hair, while simultaneously being color safe. This scalp scrub has been THE answer, I truly love using it and can absolutely see shinier hair revealed when I work it into my haircare routine. **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

As a beauty professional for over 10 years I was very excited to receive NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean 2-in-1 Scalp Scrub & Clarifying Shampoo to review! This shampoo has a very sleek design with a very generous amount of product. I love that you scoop it out straight from the jar. This product provides a very deep clean while also providing a rich lather to the scalp for a deep all over clean. I tested this on my husband who deals with dry scalp and dandruff and he was so impressed by the cooling beads that are inside the shampoo he also liked that there was not an overpowering fragrance like most of the shampoos that was currently use. This has become a favorite at our house and we will def order more! All in all I highly recommend picking up and rotating in your everyday routine! **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

The NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean Scalp Balansing Sake Rinse is like no other product that I have ever tried! I applied it in the shower after I used my shampoo the pointy nozzle made it very easy to use. I also did not have to use a lot to spread out throughout my scalp. It is very invigorating and refreshing feeling so you can instantly feel it start to work, and it starts to really feel like it's just cleaning and getting rid of any build up off of your scalp. When I really notice the difference was when I styled my hair, I could tell how much cleaner it felt and more light weight it felt like it wasn't as weighed down as before. I usually don't use a lot of product in my hair anyways, so it wasn't a major difference, but I could still tell a big difference. My scalp felt more clean and my hair felt more clean overall I really liked the smell. It wasn't anything bad or artificial or too chemical like.I also let my sister use this as she has way more thicker hair than I do, and tends to get a lot of product buildup, which sometimes causes dandruff for her and she absolutely loved it. She said that her scalp felt really clean and no other product had done that for her before, so she was definitely going to purchase her own bottle. This product is definitely a game changer and a lifesaver. I recommend anyone and everyone to use it and you have gained two new clients with just this product it really is that amazing. **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

As a Beauty Advisor, I get very excited to see non-aerosol dry shampoos. I personally think they are better for your scalp and can be more effective than aerosol dry shampoos. So, what I love about this one is how compact it is, the packaging is travel friendly, can fit in your purse, bag and even pocket. The dispenser is super easy to use and doesn't clog up. The product/powder itself is also easy to work with. I start by using a little bit and continue to dispense as I go. I think with powders it is very important to start with a little and build as you go because you can easily over do it and cause an unwanted build up on your scalp as well as a white cast. This powder is very finely milled, it is Japanese rice powder and I feel like that makes all the difference with absorption. It really brings your hair back to life in between washes. It smells absolutely beautiful, I love it!

When my hair needs a deep clean this is my go to. This is like a breathe of fresh air for my hair from top to bottom. I love this 2-in-1 scalp scrub & clarifying shampoo.I've tried other hair scalp scrubs and clarifying shampoos but nothing like this. The formulation to this is absolutely perfect. It has a smooth gel like consistency with fine granules. When you add water it lathers so wonderfully. It has such an invigorating scent I can't get enough of it. I don't have oily hair but I look forward to using this every wash day. When I use this I take about a quarter size and massage on to my hair damp. Adding water as needed. The granules dissolve so I don't have to worry about them getting stuck between strands of my thick hair. My hair is smells fresh and looks voluminous after. My partner can resist but compliment and touch my hair.Even though I'm not a cosmetologist but an esthetician I recommend this to anyone looking for a deep clean and who's not sensitive to scrubs! **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

As a Beauty Advisor for 8+ years, I have never really tried a product quite like this one. This product is perfect for someone who isn't quite on board with scrubs on their scalp or someone with a more sensitive scalp. It is intended to gently deep clean and rebalance your scalp. Now, as someone who has used scalp scrubs for years, I was a bit skeptical as to how a liquid/gel textured product can do the same job but I was surprised and very impressed. This product is formulated with amazing ingredients like Sake water that is great to rebalance the oils in your scalp and rice water to moisturize and hydrate your scalp. It's great for people with an oily/combination scalp, as well as someone with a dry and itchy scalp. It smells amazing, I must say, NatureLab knows fragrance, I love all of their scented products. Overall, I recommend this product. **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

Hi everyone! From the moment I became a cosmetologist, I have been super intrigued with skin care and finding new product that works for me to be able to share with friends, family, and clients. I was beyond excited to be able to try out NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean 2-in-1 Scalp Scrub & Clarifying Shampoo. I have heard of scalp scrubs before but I had not tried them until now. However I am a religious clarifying shampoo girl so this was an exciting product to get my hands on. I felt like this screen was extremely refreshing and did the jumó without stripping anything unnecessary from my hair or scalp. I used this product once a week and I could see a difference with previous clarifying shampoos I've used. The texture felt strange at first but after multiple uses it went away. My hair feels more smooth and shiny and I love it! **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**

As a Beauty Community Manager in NYC with over 10+ years of experience in the retail hair care industry I'm always helping clients to create a haircare regimen. When trying the NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean Scalp Balancing Sake Rinse I wanted to see how I would be able to add this product to my haircare routine and how I would guide other textured hair people to use this product.Within the natural hair community, we follow similar rules of using a pre-poo product, which is the first step of our wash day regimen. I used the NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Clean Scalp Balancing Sake Rinse on my dry scalp and massaged it into my roots. The product has the same consistency of water with a very light floral scent to me. It's infused with rice water which has been documented has "increasing hair volume, better hair shine and appearance, stronger follicles, repair to cuticle damage, dandruff prevention and anti-inflammatory effects on the scalp." by St. Bernard. I have used rice water products for a few months consistently and it has given my hair a natural shine. In my expert opinion this product is something you must use consistently for at least three months to see a noticeable difference in your hair and scalp. This product is infused with many ingredients like apple cider vinegar, hydrolyzed soy protein, rice fermented, castor oil etc that all give the hair and scalp great benefits overtime. If you do have excessive product buildup on the scalp or hair it very important to follow with a clarifying shampoo. This product would be great for all hair textures and for protective styles such as braids, cornrows, and double-strand twist. **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**
