I was super excited to try the Dermablend Brilliant Base Illuminating Primer, as I have drier, more mature skin that could use some brightening. The texture was very nice and it went on smoothly. Unfortunately, that's where the goodness ended. I noticed right away that the "glow" looked like I face-planted into the yellow brick road from the Wizard of Oz. It was very golden-like, and not a good look for my already yellow-toned skin. It didn't seem to go away when I put my foundation on over it. This is good in the sense that if it works for your skin tone, the glow may come through your foundation, which is the whole point of this. I did try a 2nd and 3rd application on different days just to make sure it wasn't my imagination, but it still left the same gold cast on my face. I'm just not into that sort of bling.
