So I want to start this review off with that I have a slightly grown out same length bob that is above my shoulders but below my chin. I have a wavy hair texture and I usually use a Revlon One Step and a straightener when I do style my hair. That being said for the most part I do really like this. I think it's a cool concept but I think it would work better on longer hair or if I was using this on someone else with the same hair length as me. The shortest layer of my hair is a little hard for me to get properly (which is understandable). I can definitely do it but it needs to be gone over slightly with my straightener. The rest of my hair works fine in the device. It's a one button turn on and the device opens up about as wide as a typical straightener does. It heats up fairly quickly and is pretty easy to you. You start at the root and slowly bring the device down the hair and it blow dries it as two hot plates on both sides of the air vent straighten the hair. It does leave the hair pin straight which I like because that's my goal. It does get hot. I wish it had two heat settings. I've yet to burn myself but the outside packaging gets hot from the straightener part (the blow dry air part is fine even at the roots). I was able to do my whole head in about 25 minutes. Because my hair is wavy there is a few parts I need to straighten around the face but it's very few and I feel like if you don't have wavy hair it would easily be a one and done which is nice. It feels very soft and shiny after use. It doesn't feel like there was any damage or negative effects from using this product which makes me happy. I think it was pretty easy to use and not too heavy. It feels about the same as my Revlon if not slightly lighter. It's a tad bit bulky like my Revlon though so that's a factor to consider but in the same breathe it takes place of a straightener so if you were traveling it might not be an issue. I overall think it is effective and I like how pin straight my hair is. I just think it would be slightly easier for me to use with longer hair but that's a me problem not a problem of the product.
I received this just yesterday... I was super excited to try it and didn't want to wait to take a shower and wash my hair so I wet my hair and attempted to blow dry and flat iron it... and I'll be honest I wasn't happy at all but then I thought okay let me wash my hair and start all over per the recommendations... so I washed my hair towel dried it added heat protectant and my other styling products to protect my hair like I normally would before blow drying or flat ironing and I began to blow dry my hair. 1st of all the claim of 90゚ heat I personally think is false IMO... so when you 1st start blow drying your hair it does feel like it's about about 90° but the longer you use it the hotter it gets... my scalp burned several times. Separate from that... when you first straighten your hair with the blow dryer, it does look good... however after approximately 20 to 30 minutes my hair was extremely frizzy... so I decided to use the flat iron as well thinking that would help and not only does it not work like your traditional flat iron or your traditional ghd flat iron because I actually do have the ghd Platinum Plus which I love... this flat iron makes my hair look really dry and actually looked like my hair was completely breaking off. I understand this is not a regular flat iron but the claim is that it will get just as hot as your traditional flat iron which is 365°. Either way... this tool made my hair look and feel dry and broken. I also have naturally curly hair... This tool might work for someone who has naturally straight hair or maybe with a little bit of a wave to it but if you have course "ethnic" hair I don't know that this is going to be the tool for you. just as an fyi... I know my hair tools... I have more hair tools than I'd like to admit... so I know my stuff... but again... try it for yourself... hopefully it'll work better for you.

I wanted to like this product and I actually loved it for the first month and a half. I went from needing to wash my hair daily to about 2 to 3 times a week when I used this product. It made my hair smooth and straight. Unfortunately after about a month and a half of using it the duet started cutting out power about 3 to 4 times per use, and I have short hair. I ended up having to return it.

I have thick, wavy hair and a LOT of it. Blowdrying my hair is one of my least favorite things to do. It takes forever, my arms are tired mid way through, and I'm usually so sweaty that I feel like I need to shower after. I purchased this in hopes it would be a quicker, easier way to dry my hair and give it a polished appearance. Some background, I have all of the hair tools: buttercup dryer, shark flexstyle, single shot dryer brush, more flat irons and curling irons than I can count... And they all work great! I love them all. So when I saw this only, did I need it? Probably not. But I was intrigued by something that could quickly give me a styled look without 'work'. The verdict: it was not quicker. It still took quite a bit of time. But I have a lot of hair and working in smaller sections is going to take a while. It was still quicker than blow drying and flat ironing, not to mention WAY less heat on my hair. I'm very happy with the end result. My hair wasn't just more smooth than when I blow dry with my dryer or brush-dryer. I had considerably less frizz/flyaways. My hair feels so soft! I didn't get any steam while using the tool like I do with others. The tool heated up SO fast. Like you turn it on and by the time I grabbed my 1st section of hair, it was already ready to use. And the best part, I wasn't sweaty or exhausted when finished. :D I know the Dyson Airstrait is all of the craze, but I feel very happy I saved $100 and went with this. It gives a great result!

I was pretty excited about this new tool. I used it once and it was ok, there is a bit of a learning curve. Tried to use it again & it keeps beeping/flashing but will not turn on. This is very disappointing as I am traveling and only brought true duet.

I absolutely love this dual hair dryer and flat iron. I love how quickly it drys my hair with out my hair getting all tangled. Then it's super easy to flat iron it as well. It is bulky and it takes a little time to get use to.

Takes too long to dry plus leaves hair stiff, not straight with dry ends. My hair is not even extremely curly. Gave it two starts because it mighh work for someone with strainght hair.

I really like how sleek and smooth this left my hair! The only thing is that it did take a while to do my whole head since I have pretty curly hair

This is okay. Its not that great for curly hair but did make my hair feel better that using a blow dryer. It did take me more time to do my hair than using the revlon blow dry brush. I have thick curly hair so it took me twice as long because i had to use smaller peices of hair. I like how my hair felt after and the straighter after is very convenient, esepcially when i go on vacation. Even though it took me longer to do my hair, i do like how it made my hair feel after and i dont have nearly as many fly aways

I bought a styler from ultra years ago and it's been the best one yet.

let me say this.... good bye Dyson, this is far superior, I have very long grey hair, this has eliminated the need for a straight iron, all tho this does have the straight iron feature I didn't need to use it. this device left my hair so soft and straight and incredibly healthy feeling. I am absolutely shocked as I did not have high expectations given dyson hair tools have been such a disappointment.... way to go ghd.... game changer!!!!

I was a little skeptical, but GHD is my favorite brand. It's so hard for me to do a blowout by myself. I washed and towel dried my hair, then sectioned it into 4 and started using it like a straightener/flat iron and it took about the same amount of time of a hair dryer but I didn't need to use the flat iron after.

I just bought this today. I washed my hair towel dried and used this bad boy. Let me say I am shook by the results. I have fine 2b/2c hair but a lot if hair like a lions mane. Its kind of frizzy too. It took me about 30 min max to dry my hair with it. And while it dried it straightened. I have the revlon blow dry brush and this was quicker and looks way better. It looks smoother and shinier and healthier. 10/10 i used to have to let my hair air dry because i would have to straighten it to smooth it and then wand it to style. It was such a hassle so i never wanted to fix my hair. I saw this and wanted to invest it something that not only saves tome but is healthier.

I returned this and got the Dyson AirStrait and thank GOD I did! Dyson never disappoints! This is, however, the first time GHD has disappointed me!

I tried the "other competitors " and hated it! I bought this GHD and I'm obsessed. I have told all my friends. Perfection.

I wanted this to be what it promised. I have pretty curly hair and damage it often with a straightener. I hoped this would be my go to styling tool but it took twice as long to dry my hair and I had to straighten it any way. It was also pretty heavy to hold for how long it took to dry my hair. Finally, it was like a jet engine: loud and high pitch. I retuned it because it was NOT worth that price tag. I've loved everything else from GHD but this missed the mark.

I bought the Duet styler and thought it was a great idea although it did not work for my hair style. Returned and am awaiting my refund

I had high hopes for this machine but I honestly don't have a positive thing to say about it. The first time I used it my hair turned out quite frizzy and felt dry. Assuming it was user error, I continued to use it but after each use my hair was more frizzy and dry than the last. I finally had to stop when I realized my hair was beginning to break off in several different spots. I returned the product and would encourage everyone to pay close attention to what it's doing to your hair.

I bought this and the product would not turn on. I tried several outlets and followed the customer service instructions. Dealing with customer service was not ideal. They don't respond right away and they took their time in finally telling me to send it back after I demanded a return. I had sent videos doing everything they instructed and I tried everything I was told to do. I was so fed up that i refused to do anymore because it clearly showed they sent me a defected product and I wanted them to send me a new one when I return this one.

To be honest the duo thing isn't for me it's too much work and the iron is heavy for the amount of time I have to be doing my hair. Works fine but not a purchase I will do!

I really wanted to love this but it didn't work the best with my hair. I have frizzy 3a/b curls and thin hair so it didn't tame it nicely. It worked better on thicker hair.

Listen. If you have almost straight hair anyways this is not going to be worth it for you. But as someone who has had numerous keratin treatments and Brazilian blowouts which cost $250+ per treatment…this is worth it because I'm only paying for the cost of the product ONCE. I'm a mom with two under two and this thing has finally given me back the ability to style my hair the way I like it - straight straight straight. I have naturally 3a/3b rib cage length hair that is very fine and prone to damage. The Dyson airwrap could smooth my hair but could not get it straight. This does everything I need it to and means that I only have to spend 30 minutes on my hair. I would just rough dry your roots first to make sure they dry and decrease the number of passes you need. People keep saying online that this is heavy, but it's not, y'all must have spaghetti arms. I have been using this for a few weeks and have not noticed any out of the ordinary damage to my ends, but it does get hot so there is always going to be damage no matter what. The takeaway is this. IF you regularly get chemical smoothing treatments, this is worth it. IF you are looking for good results with a realistic amount of damage, this is worth it. IF you regularly straighten your hair but still combat frizz due to humidity, this is worth it. If you're just looking for dry hair, want to curl your hair with this, or just have mild waves or straight hair, this is not for you, save your money.

I saw this at the store and immediately wanted to try it. I am "lazy" when it comes to blow drying and then styling my hair. THIS product does both and I have not noticed any hair damage. I have very thick, wavy hair with lots of frizz.

Really happy with this product! Wish it could handle thicker hair strands to make it faster (I have a lot of hair).
