Ive seen all the reviews and im so sad to see that people are having a hard time using this. When I first started my journey with these environmentally, friendly razors, I had a hard time as well, because when I would use a regular plastic razor, I was able to shave my legs lickety-split. A razor like this takes I would say double the time to shave, but I will also say that it gives you the closest and the most smoothest shave. With this one, I highly recommend that instead of using a shaving cream, or anything else, you use a shave oil. The reason I feel a shave oil is highly beneficial with this type of razor is because you need to shave a very slow and you need to be able to see what you're doing and an oil causes Less friction, especially for the people I see that are having a problem with cuts, you need to shave very very slow. Once you master the technique, you are able to shave at a slightly less than regular pace. DONT GIVE UP LADIES. Its an amazing razor. Definitely one of the higher quality ones that ive tried.
I had a hard time putting in the blades. It's very complicated and the directions on the back of the box are useless. In the meantime, I sliced my finger in doing so. You also have to disassemble after each use to clean the razor out, putting your fingers at risk again in getting sliced by the blade. The shaving soap is ok, it doesn't lather up and makes the tub very slippery. The razor handle is not easy to grip. It's slippery. It would be better if it had a built up handle. Overall I'm giving this 3 stars, only because it does provide a close smooth shave.

I was really excited to pick this up, as I am sick of disposable razors for multiple reasons. I like that the razor comes with 5 blades, and I also ordered the 10 pack replacement blades. I do not need to shave often, so these blades will last quite a while, which is great. I find that it gives a very smooth shave, however, it does need to be held at a specific angle to get the cleanest effect/ less knicks. the only negative I can think of is I wish the handle was longer to fit in my hand better.

I finally splurged on this razor. Its very simple to use and the weight of the razor , i personaly love. U have to tighten it and the blade is out just enought to close. I love the softeness of my skin after and no bumps. Its def for a more steady hand.

I was excited about this razor, but it is so difficult to use. Its heavy and it cuts so easily. I was being so careful and I would still get the biggest nicks. So if you buy this razor be aware it's not a smooth easy razor. I guess it takes some serious skill to not end up an injured bloody mess:/

I love the Kitsch brand but this razor was a nightmare. Wasaayyyyy to sharp for my skin. Never encountered so many cuts. Some worse than others. The tub looked like something out of a horror film. Used it very carefully. Ended up using a box of bandages. Never want to experience cuts and will be returning this razor back to the store.

Overall I think the shave this razor gives is nice. I notice less razor burn. HOWEVER in order to use, I have to unscrew the head so there is enough space for the hair to catch. Which then causes the head to loosen or tighten as it move constantly from not being secure which is not only scary but annoying. Not sure if mine is faulty but if it is any tighter, it does not shave. It does work but its finicky and another brand might work better.

Compared to another straight razor I had used, the weight of this razor seemed very heavy and took a bit to get used to. I did like the silicone cover though. Sadly after one short drop it is broken and unfixable, and I also noticed it appears some of the metal is starting to rust despite letting it sit in a dry area after use. I'd recommend a different straight razor with a butterfly head.

I wanted to love the razor. Despite the price, i gave it a try bc I love Kitsch. It wasn't the smoothed shave, but after my 3rd use when I tried to switch the blade, I couldn't because the handle got stuck! I tried many times it just wouldn't budge!

I wanted to like this. it gives you extra blades but it's so top heavy and with wet hands easy to lose control. Rounding corners is difficult, cut a pretty deep gash under my knee. I don't normally get ingrown hairs on my legs which this is advertised not to do but I'm actually getting them now.

I am in love with this razor. It has literally changed my life. I have thick, dark hair on my legs and arms. I have shaved almost daily for years. I now shave twice a week. The hair grows out much softer but it also takes longer for it to grow out because it's such a close shave. The key is a 30° angle. The tell you exactly how to use this on their website. The shave butter bar is 100٪ worth it. Regular shave gel clogs it up but the shave butter is more like soap. It rinses very clean and moisturizes well. Also you need to take smaller, shorter strokes. I don't cut myself with this. I even shave my full bikini area bare, so you know I trust it to not cut me. It's amazing. It's going back to an old school, quality shave. And it's now part of my present self-care routine. Never going back to a normal razor. More blades = more irritation. I've always dealt with bumps from my shave. Those are a thing of the past!

I did cut myself one time but that was becasue I was flying by trying to shave my legs jn a pinch. Other than that if you follow the directions and hold it at a 45 degree angle while your shaving, you will get the closest shave ever. And its resuable . Pro tip have common sense and know that there is a blade and handle it with care. If you just slide the razor all around your leg that yes it will slice you but if you follow the directions you will be fine.

The razor itself was difficult to shave with. I had trouble not nicking myself and the handle was too smooth to have a firm grip. Maybe that's why I dropped it after a month and the head BROKE. OFF. Returned and I'm going back to knockoff Venus

Honestly this made me so mad, steer away from this product.

If you can't use common sense when handling an exposed razor blade then this is obviously not for you. Instructions are clear on how to handle this razor and if done properly you will not cut yourself! Not sure why others have a hard time using this. I personally put it upside down and just drop everything into place and screw the handle back on. It's so easy to use and produces a nice clean and close shave. I love not using plastic and highly recommend this product. Also has a nice weight to it as well.

Like others, I purchased to reduce my use of plastic. That's one of the positives. Another positive is when you get it right, you do get a clean shave. Cons: like mentioned, heavy at the tip and light weight at the handle so you have to be careful with not dropping it and potentially cutting yourself You have to play with the angles and how tight you screw the head on to get a clean shave I've used it twice and have cut my legs in multiple locations. I have hope for this product though. Hopefully they come out with a 2.0

For years i have struggled shaving down there and bought every single razor on the market and still would get razor bumps. I used this today and i literally almost started crying bc it was the best shave I've ever had no nicks, cuts, or razor bumps!! This will be my new holy grail and it also gets rid of stubble ! Assembling is easy idk why the comments say it's hard i would 100% recommend this product
SR from Michigan
Purchased this hoping to contribute less to landfills and get a close shave as well. It has a learning curve and if I screw the top tightly it won't shave. Easy to assemble. Hopeful that as I continue to use this to there will be less issues as time goes on.
Angela from Pennsylvania
I wanted to love this! I kept seeing it advertised on Facebook. It's awful. It's heavy and awkward. Difficult to assemble and slippery when trying to shave. The razors are so sharp and can cut you. When I was assembling the razor, it sliced my finger. The bar of soap that is recommended for it is waxy and doesn't get too sudsy and it nearly caused me to fall in the tub. Save your money . Would not recommend! I returned mine.

There is definitely a learning curve to using this if you've never used one before. I did nick myself several times using this. Once I get the hang of it, I think I'll really like it.
