I believe it's tin, and I'm currently using it to hold my brushes. Big fan of reusable packaging. On to the brushes. They are soft and pick up powder well, but unfortunately they do shed. I had to brush more than one stray hair out of my eye. Additionally, I do a lot of wet liner looks, and the wet liner brush kept splaying apart. I had to remove my liner and repeat it with my own brush. I feel like most synthetic haired bristles don't always perform as well as their natural haired counterparts however this set was well designed. I absolutely love the blending brushes first and foremost they pack on and diffuse eyeshadow so seamlessly. The eyeliner brush was not a favorite and to be honest it just boils down to skill level as I prefer a slanted edge on my liner brushes similar to a brow brush, its just easier for me to use. However I feel like if someone were more skilled with these liner brushes included in this kid they would really enjoy doing winged liners with it. This was my first experience with Morphe products but it definately won't be my last. All the hype is real.
