I am at the stage in my life where the signs of aging are visibly apparent, especially, under my eyes! Skin discoloration, dark circles, lack of hydration & loss of firmness, are some of the areas of concerns, for me personally, that this under-eye cream targets and tackles, as soon as I first started applying! So, I have been applying a small amount, under my eyes, day and night for almost 2 weeks! I must say that I am more than impressed with the results that it has provided my skin! The cream is thick yet creamy and absorbs quickly into my skin without leaving unwanted residues on the top of my skin! With it's absorption rate being so quickly, I am able to apply my full face makeup, as usal, without having to wait for it to dry! My (under eye) dark circles look brighter and less noticeable with any discolorations already started to fade & lighten! I am happy to say that my skin seems better hydrated and firmer, after only a few applications! The skin smoothing benefits that this eye cream delivers is remarkable! I really enjoy that this under-eye cream does all it states it will do, with less irritation than traditional vitamin C products, I've used in the past! The packaging has a great design, with its pump action dispenser, I am able to pump out just the right amount of product without waste or worry! Yes, the bottle itself is on the smaller side. However, this will last me a long time due it only taking a small pea size amount, for each application! I really really really wanted to love this product since I LOVE Perricone products but this Vitamin C Ester CCC + Ferulic Brightening Under-Eye Cream was not my favorite. It seemed like it somewhat worked even though I really couldn't see how much my under eye area has changed till my spouse told me he noticed the difference. He had to show me pics to see the difference. It wasn't a drastic change but there was a little change. The good thing about it is that a little goes a long way and it is easy to apply with the pump that comes with it. I would have given it 3 stars but the smell of it is what made me give it two stars. I cannot stand the scent it has. It's hard to describe it but for some reason it reminds me of a smokey scent as to cooking some meat. The scent didn't irritate my eyes especially since I wear contacts so that was plus. I just couldn't get over the scent which was horrible! But It is really Irritating to my eyes and the skin under my eyes, gets red and itchy and inflamed, flares up with this allergic reaction feeling after a couple of uses, causing my skin around my entire eyes area to feel dry and rough after the flare up for up to a week in recovery. So after I stop, I then continue after it heals just trying to figure out if it is in fact the product maybe being too aggresive for my skin, and same thing happens. I'm not usually sensitive, I can do daily retinol eye cream, but this eye cream causes me some irritation 😞 I had quite a long testing period, so I experimented a bit. It doesn't seem to irritate every time, but if I use it for 5 days or so in a row, I notice the irritation starts. If I give it a break and come back later, I'm ok for the first few days before the irritation comes back. I'm thinking maybe I need to treat this like an active and only use a few times a week, although the instructions tell you to use it daily AM and PM and I only used in the PM, so even less than their suggestion already. Because of the stop and start nature, I didn't really notice any reduction in my dark circles.
