I received this product complimentary from Murad Skincare, however this is my genuine assessment based off using daily for 2 weeks to clear up ingrown hairs on my neck + reduce the appearance of blackheads in my t-zone area.
Usually blemish treatments containing 2.0% salicylic acid as the active ingredient leave my face red and dry (I have dry + sensitive skin, so many things cause kind of reaction for me unfortunately) — this one however does not seem to do anything of the sort. It leaves my skin feeling soothed vs. irritated, and has made a huge difference with clearing up ingrown hair bumps on my neck + effectively reduced the appearance of blackheads on my nose.
This little spot treatment bottle has a full 1oz of product in it, so with the way I have been selectively using it, I see this lasting for at last 4-6 months, making it worth every penny - I'll definitely be ordering when this runs out.
Even if you're usually sensitive to products containing salicylic acid (like I am), it may be worth giving this product a shot - it made me realize that the rest of a product's formulation can have a profound effect on the overall user experience/efficacy.
I tried this product out on two difficult under the skin pimples. One on my forehead and one on my chin. It seemed to be working after the first two nights , but then my pimples (which were skin colored) started to develop serious dark marks. And I don't mean post acne hyper pigmentation, because the bumps are still here. The pimple on my forehead has been replaced with a dark spot pimple and the pimple on my chin has a strange dark surface area around and below the pimple. I'm not sure what happened, as I use a salicylic acid often, but obviously, once these marks showed up I stopped use. I made an appointment with my Derm and can not recommend this product.

I was so excited to get my hands on this product, but tbh it was kind of a let down. I'm normally a big fan of Murad products, I've been using them for years. I just feel like for the price this should work better and faster than it does. I would rather spend my money on something else personally.

I am 75 years young, and due to multiple auto-immune issues, have developed very oily skin in and around my nose, upper lip and chin. I have been using LaRoche-Posay Effaclar products, but their serum is only 1.5% salicylic acid and it was not strong enough. I have tried Peace Out Acne Serum which is 2% salicylic acid but didn't like the smell or texture. The Murad serum is perfect - 2% salicylic acid, no burn, no sting, no bad smell - in fact, no smell at all. There is no excessive peeling and I use it morning and night. I will definitely purchase this again and highly recommend. Since I have been using both glycolic and salicylic acid for over a year, first time users may want to use once a day to begin.
I bought this for my 14yr old, and within two days of using it, you saw a huge difference. I would 100% recommend!

So a backroung on my skincare journy. Throughout the pandemic I had a 7- step intense skincare routine and it did NOT clear my acne up, (turns out I have a dairy allergy that contributed to it on top of hormones as a teenager) So I started researching different skincare brands to reinvent my routine I found this serum and I decided to try it out, I swear by everything… I use it PM and it clears my hormonal acne it stops my dairy acne in its tracks (sometimes) I will never stop using it.

I had two large cystic bumps come up on eithwr size of my nose, both massive and painful. I did everything i could do with what i had at home. Spot treatments, ice, keepimg the area clean…. Nothing was working and i was on a time crunch before work the next day. This stuff is a small miracle. The most painful one bas almost completely flatened out and is no longet painful. That was two days ago.

I have been using this product for about a week (every other day on whole face) and oh my god it has done an absolute miracle already. I had stubborn texture on my forehead and chin for YEARS and I can already see a significant reduction in the appearance. It's definitely pricey but works so well. I would buy a million times.

I have struggled with acne my entire life and I am telling you this stuff is the best out there. I have tried more products then I can count and everything else just dries my skin and makes everything look worse and more noticeable. I would say this serum clears up 90% of my blemishes as long as i catch them early and does not dry my skin at all. Its the best!

This has been my go to when I have a blemish. I even take it with me when I travel just in case. It really does the job and doesn't irritate my skin. I do have sensitive skin and many products can irritate it. This is definitely a must! Complimentary from murad skincare.

I am almost done with my first bottle and I definitley notice a difference in my deeper cystic pimples. I like that it numbs the skin with with a cooling sensation. The con is that the lid is sharp on the bottom and I have sliced my finger open multiple times opening it. I use a towel to open the lid now.

i love this product a lot. it works well however it takes a while to see results. also i dont recommend using it during the day cuz it peels and flakes which sucks

This will be my second bottle now. I am obsessed. I have sensitive, reactive, acne-prone skin. I am a Fitzpatrick Skin Type 4 and have hyperpigmentation.
This product works extremely well for my both hormonal cystic acne and regular clogged pores. This targets the acne while being moisturizing and non-irritating (for me at least). I also see a difference in my old hyperpigmentation as well as reducing the amount of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation new acne creates.
Knocked off a star due to packaging. It can easily become unsanitary using this product as you either have to pour the product into your palm or dip a cotton bud/Q-tip into the product. For the price, they could have opted for cheaper plastic pump packaging instead of useless frosted glass with a lid that has claims of cutting people.
If you are able, this product is great to try & worth the investment. This is great in conjuction with Paula's Choice Benzoyl Peroxide (my two acne staples).

This product is amazing!!! I deal with hormonal cystic acne that is not only
painful but literally looks like a planet on my face but this helped so much after just 4 days!! A must try!

I'm obsessed with this stuff. Put it on as soon as you feel a cystic zit forming and it will cut the life cycling in MORE THAN HALF. Seriously! I had cystic acne that would last weeks and this stuff gets rid of it in a few days.

I received a sample, and then paid for the full product. Been using this for a few months and have seen positive results. However, be careful with the cap. It has sliced my finger, twice.

I'm 39 and have had cystic hormonal acne for at least 10 years…this stuff healed the swelling and make it it shrink half the size after applying it twice. I will forever be using this

Best stuff for deep acne I will never use anything else

I think it's definitely worth the price. You get a lot in the jar. I just put a little on the end of a q-tip and then apply it to the blemish. I use it weekly and have had it for month. Looks like I haven't made a dent in it yet.

Okay… so I don't typically write reviews on things. However, I have to let you know that this IS WORTH IT. I have really deep hormonal cystic acne around my jawline area. And within 2 DAYS it calmed the redness on my face and was so soothing. I love how it keeps my skin hydrated. Most acne treatments dry my skin out. Do yourself a favor and just buy it.

I've been using this on my forehead for about five days now and it seems to actually be working! Will keep updates

This product is ok. I haven't noticed much of a difference since using it tbh. I'm not sure how the product compares to Murad's other acne treatments, however I do like the "cooling" feeling that it offers inflamed skin.
The real downside is the packaging! Since it's in a bottle you have to either use a cotton swab to apply the product, or your finger. Neither of which are super ideal. However the last time I used this the metal cap sliced my finger! There's a sharp lip on the bottom of the lid :(
Not sure how to add a photo to this review…

This has worked well on tiny red pimples but hasn't worked consistently well on my cystic pimples. I'll continue to use it, but I probably won't buy it again given the price.
